Just For You by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Hello, it's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out hosting the blog today.  Today I am doing a quick and simple card for you.
For a quick card it helps to use a pretty paper for the background to build on. In this case it gave me some beautiful flowers and color to perch the bird on.
Here I have just cut a bigger oval from the background and then cut a smaller oval from the  Oval Stitch and Cut tool set. I really like the difference the stitching makes around the oval. Then the sentiment Just For You Oval  fit perfectly in the center.
The birds perched in the flowers and on the sentiment are from the Birds of Earth and Sky  set. The butterfly is from the  Tiny Things with Wings  set. So when you need a card fast, this type of card is quick and easy to create.

Thanks for visiting the blog today and for all the comments you leave. They are always appreciated. Have a crafty day my friends.

Hello Card with Corina Finley

12:30 AM 1 Comments

Hello! Happy Friday!

Corina here with you today to host the Cheery Lynn Blog. I have been showcasing Christmas Cards and Well Wishes Cards these past few weeks. Today is an "All Occasion" type card which was inspired by this weeks challenge Things with Wings - here on the Cheery Lynn Blog.

When I saw the pattern paper - I just knew I wanted to use the cute Bee Die. Perfect Combo! I pulled a few more dies from my Die albums (how I store my dies - which I will share in the future!) and started to create!

I layered the Italian Flourish Tiny Doily on top of the Polynesian Sails Mini Doily. I then die cut a small and medium Tea Rose - inked and sprayed each and added the trio leaf that cuts out with each of the Tea Rose strip.

I think that Bee works perfectly! So easy to colour because it comes with the coordinating solid background die. I cut the top detailed layer from black cardstock and cut the back die in white. I coloured the white die cut and adhered the black detailed die cut on top. Added some glitter to make the wings sparkle!

My top right hand corner needed something! I cut the Tag from scraps left over of the pattern paper and cut the smallest of the Horizon Fishtail Banners.  I trimmed the banner to fit and added the flower, leaf and rhinestones.

Here is a closer view of the floral arrangement, Bees and sentiment banner.

Fathers Day card by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, It's Julie here today. A week on Sunday marks the Celebration of Fathers Day in both the UK and USA, so I thought it would be nice to share my inspiration for this special day. My Dad loves being out in his garden and his cat is not usually far away from him, so I decided to create this little scene on my card.

I started off by using the Brick Embossing Plate and some Beige card stock. Once embossed I dry brushed Gesso onto my bricks to highlight them. Next mounting onto Green Cardstock and stitching around the edges for detail. My garden fence was shaded with a little Distress ink to shabby it up and a couple of layers of grass added.

My watering can I added a little gilding wax to highlight it. My flowers, leaves and dragonfly were shaded with Copics.

My sunflower was shaded also with Copics and I made the word Dad from my words Day/And as I have still to get the Cheery Lynn die saying Dad.

Sending Love Card with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 3 Comments

It's Jenny here today with a twist on this week's Lots of Layers challenge.  I used the new Step Card Bundle Set-3 to create a garden scene.

I folded and cut the center of an A2 card instead of cutting the side like in the above piture. That's one of the great things about this die, you can move it around to create the look you want and make entirely different cards.  I used the flowers from the die to embellish the card.  Here is a photo from above so you can see how the flowers and grasses are layered.

I cut a piece of patterned paper the same size as an A2 card front and cut it with the main step die.  I glued the patterned paper to the front of  step card and trimmed the sides a little so the patterned paper fit perfectly.

I cut the flowers and leaves using the flower dies in the set and colored them with distress ink before adding rhinestone centers.  The Sending and Love die cuts were colored to match the roses.

I cut multiple layers of the Grass Border for the front two layers.  For the tall grass on the back layer I used the Cattails & Reeds die.  The Faerie Mushrooms were colored with distress ink and tucked in between the grasses.  I also cut a white card stock backing to layer behind the mushroom tops.

Last I added the hummingbird and dragonfly dies from the Tiny Things With Wings die and added clear stickles to the dragonfly wings and roses for sparkle.

Spring Birthday Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hello Fellow Crafters!

Corina here with you all, to host the blog and share this weeks card creation. As you may notice, my card is all about Spring! Flowers, twigs and foliage!

I used a piece of thin Cork and die cut it with the French Flair Classic Stackers and the Adaptor Plate. The Cork cut out very easily - one run thru my die cut machine!  I then cut my pattern paper with a smaller French Flair Classic Stacker from the same set.

I layered these on a piece of pattern paper, which I rounded both top and bottom right side corners.

I used the Old Barn Board as a base for my Sentiment. I added the foliage before I adhered my Sentiment to give depth by layering. I also added three pink rhinestones to draw your eye to the sentiment.

The small dragonfly from the Tiny Things with Wings set was inked with blue and only glued in the middle (body) so I could lift the wings up for dimension.

I created three large flowers, four small flowers, and two rose buds. I chose pink and blue hues to compliment the background pattern paper.

I also used the Dandelions, twigs and various foliage to fill in my floral arrangement. Rhinestones were added to the center of each flower.

Dies Used:

Birthday (Set of 2) - B231

Nature Themed Card with Rhonda

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Happy Monday to you! Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

I created a nature themed card for you today with a variety of our pretty dies. It was a lot of fun to create as these dies are all just so gorgeous!

I began with an A2 card base in kraft cardstock. The first simple layer was cut and then stitched down. My first die is a Horizon Rectangle Boutique Stacker in medium, cut apart. Then I cut the largest Horizon Fishtail Banner to layer over and disguise the gap. Next I placed the Swedish Spring Oval Frame in horizontal orientation.

I created a lacy flower using three cuts of the Dainty Bows, then layered it on top of a Sophie's Heart Mini. A few Rose Leaves were tucked under as well as an Ivy Corner Flourish to anchor the left corner of my design. Another cut of the Ivy Corner Flourish was used to vine into the Ornamental Gate.

A bit of random string adhered to the back of the birdhouse and a few birds from Tiny Things with Wings finished the elements. I added a few stick pins and a small bow to finish the card.

Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:
Horizon Boutique Fishtail Banners - DL278
Horizon Rectangle Boutique Stackers - DL270

Thinking of you by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Hello there Blogging friends it's Julie here today. I have made a Thinking of you card today which could easily adapt to many different occasions using the Cheery Lynn word dies.

I had a lot of fun making this card and hope you give it a go too. I used the Square Classic to cut out all my small frames and edged them with embossing powder on the outside and inside of the frames. I layered 3 frames with foam pads to give more dimension onto my card and kept the one with the wording flat. Layering them up onto different sizes of the Square Scalloped die. These 2 dies compliment each other so you don’t have to think about measuring out everything for your card, the dies do the job for you.

Good Luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge.

Thanks for popping by, enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you all next Saturday.

Good Day with Corina!

3:30 AM 7 Comments

Hello Friends!

It's Corina with you today - on this fabulous Friday! I wanted to start off by saying that I love checking out our Challenge each week here of the Cheery Lynn Blog and seeing every ones wonderful and lovely creations. I like to see what inspires each person, how they create and some times a glimpse into their life and thought process.

As I was making my card for this weeks post,  'ionabunny' blog post from her last weeks card challenge entry popped into my head! My card needs......This is exactly what she was talking about!

"Do you ever start a project and it just get bigger and bigger and bigger??  It just needs one little bit to finish it.  And maybe a bit here.  And there."

You are so right Gail/Iona/Crafty Nomad! - Love your posts!

As I mentioned last week, I sometimes cut the dies and use pieces of them. I
cut the Ribbon Eyelet Border die cut down the center and placed half on both sides of my pattern paper strip going down my card.

I also used the left over piece of my Chasing Rainbows Doily die cut from last weeks card! Added some ink and it made a wonderful layer! Never throw anything away!

Dies used:

Spring Friend Card

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hello Everyone!

Corina here for the my last week as March Guest Designer! Time flew by so quickly! In this last week I travelled south to Vancouver BC, where Spring has sprung! Only to return home to a winter Storm and more snow! So this week, my inspiration came from the few days I spent in "Spring"!

I thought that I would share a picture of my work process when I made this card. I started off with white cardstock for my die cuts (except for Friend, I knew I wanted the sentiment dark!). I  proceed by arranging the die cuts to form my scene. From there, I painted, spritzed, glittered, coloured and inked to create my chosen colour palette.

The finished card is always a little different from my concept at the beginning! But that is okay! I always enjoy my creative journey with each and every craft project I do!

Pink Flowers with Feather

3:00 AM 7 Comments

Hi everyone!  My name is Holly Brown, and I am thrilled to be the guest designer for Cheery Lynn Designs this month.  I fell in love with Cheery Lynn Designs when I saw their dies a couple years ago, and I have had so much fun building up my collection and playing with all the different dies.

That's exactly what I did for this card today.  I just pulled out some dies and started cutting.  After mixing and matching and moving things around, I ended up with this.  The tiny pink flowers on the sides are from one die - Cuties 3.  I cut some of the Cuties 3 strips in half and rolled them up.  I left the top two rolled up and didn't pull the petals out.  The next two are the same thing except I pulled some of the petals out.  The two at the bottom are the whole Cuties 3 strips with the petals partially pulled out.

I used the following dies on this card:

Thanks for stopping by to visit!  I'll be back next Friday with another creation to share with you.  Enjoy your weekend!

Pixie Delight

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Happy Friday everyone.  I've had a wonderful start of a long weekend and I've done nothing but craft away, which has been super fun.  This is a card I created during my craft jag using the Pixie Guardian die as the centerpiece.  I love the delicateness of her, she's beautiful.

I used the angel wing only of the Chasing Rainbow Doily which was the perfect backing for my pixie.

Here is a complete list of all the dies I used on this card.

Summer Flowers with Cheery Lynn Designs

3:30 AM 5 Comments

The official first day of summer was last week, so to help celebrate - I have a summery card to share with you.

The flowers were made with the Shasta Daisy die, and Build A Flower 2 Embellishments for the centers. They are very easy to put together - in fact, I made all of these flowers with only 2 cuts from the daisy die.  I also used the new and improved Silver Stitching Tool on my oval (I know it's hard to notice it on the picture - but there is stitching around the edge.) Such a great way to make perfect stitches.

This is the last week to enter the Summer Blast with Cheery Lynn to win an eBosser - but we will have another contest in July, so be sure to watch for that.  This is also the last week that our challenges will be found on the separate challenge blog - starting June 30th, you will find them starting on Sundays on the inspiration blog.  This week the challenge is Wonderful Weddings. Show us your best creation using CLD and you could win a $20 gift certificate!

Song Birds

3:30 AM 6 Comments
Hi Everyone,

Today I have a fun fold to share with you.  My inspiration came from a very lovely and talented lady.  Her name is Judy and she calls this fold a Horizontal Multifold.   As you will see, it is pretty simple to make but gives you a bit of a different twist for the times you want to add  that little something extra.

Here is a little closer look at the front.  I used Sweet Williams Strip and crepe paper to make the flowers.  With crepe paper you can make the flowers as full as you want because the paper is so thin you can layer many more die cuts to achieve your desired shape and fullness.

here is the inside

Here's a list of the dies used for this project:

I hope you have an opportunity to play along with the challenge this week and put in your entry.   The theme is Keep it Krafty (use kraft paper)!  With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Have a Cheery Day!

There are exciting things happening at Cheery Lynn Designs - and I know you  are going to want to be a part! In July, we will have a mega release of the most incredible dies - you are going to love them! And at the bottom of my post, you will want to see the super summer contest we have cooked up for you! It's too big to miss.

There is an equestrian estate close to my house, and around the entire perimeter of this large farm, are gorgeous rose bushes. They are in full bloom now, so I was inspired to pull out my trusty Build a Flower 2, and create my own rose blossom.
