Fun Fold

Here is a card from our team member, Kathy McDaniels She based the card on a video tutorial by Dawn from Stamping Thoughts.

The inside center panel has two layers of pearlized cardstock that Kathy cut with 2 of the Dies Direct French Scalloped Flair dies (LST010). She stamped and powder embossed a birthday sentiment on the smaller of the two pieces which she then rotated 45 degrees on top of the slightly larger one.

Poinsettia Embossing Plate

5:53 PM 1 Comments
Cheery Lynn Designs has 6 x 8 embossing plates, actual embossed area is 5 7/8 x 7 7/8.  That means you can emboss a background for a 6" square card without having a seam.   My card uses the fabulous Poinsettia embossing plate.  These are heavy duty metal embossing plates.

I began by rubbing rose ink all over the die.  Because it is metal, you don't have to worry about the ink getting in the recessed areas as the die does not bend like plastic ones.  Then using a piece of Stardreams Opal text weight paper, I embossed it using my Cuttlebug.  There are two great things about using text weight paper for embossing; one, you get a really detailed embossing, two, it keeps the weight of the card down. Finished size is 5.5" square.
