A Square Merry Christmas with Rhonda

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Happy Monday to you!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog.

I can't believe it's almost July! For my project today I am playing along with our new challenge theme for this week, "Christmas in July".

Merry Christmas (5"x5" card)

Recently I received the Poinsettia Strip flowers and I've been wanting to use them. This week's theme was the perfect opportunity! I started by trimming my card base to 10"x5" and folding in half to create my 5"x5" card.

Next I layered the Dutch Scallop Square, then the Horizon Square Boutique Stacker. The Sophie's Heart Mini Doily anchors my Sentiment Frame #2.  A cluster of Poinsettia's are arranged and bits of the Mega Holly Flourish are used for the leaves.

I finished the card with a sweet little gold bow and bell along with a bit of pearl and gem accents.

Sophie's Heart Mini Doily - DL238
Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames - DL253

On Your Special Day by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Lovely to have you stop by today. It’s Julie here hosting the blog. This week my Mojo was at an all time low... don’t you just hate when that happens. So I decided I would play along with our Wedding Theme Challenge for this week and I was soon back on track.

I decided to make a 6x6 card and thought it would be nice to have colours resembling the bride, groom and bridesmaid on my card, so I chose White, Grey and Lavender to work with. I cut out my French Lattice die twice in grey card and pieced them together to fit over my lavender paper to form a square. When doing this I found it easier to have my lilac paper cut roughly to the size I needed. I then worked out where my crosses matched best to make my join and re-align the 2 pieces together and glued onto my lilac card,  finally trimming around the edges. My topper is two stamps stamped onto a pearlised linen card and die cut out with a little grey card mounted behind to make the design POP.

You will see I have used my Cuties Strip around my card. This die makes gorgeous flowers but is also great to use as accents onto your card. I die cut out in white card and inked the edges with a lavender shade. On the reverse of the paper I pressed my embossing tool into each petal, this gives a little more dimension to your card as doesn’t look flat when glued on.

I placed the Victorian Flourish die onto my card and used a couple of the waste pieces onto my design too. My miniature roses were cut out from linen card and when the glue had dried I rubbed over some lavender ink. Everything was placed onto my card along with my final touches of bling.

Thanks for looking at my card and I’d love if you have time to leave me a comment. Good Luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge. I will see you all next Saturday.

Cherish Card by Corina Finley

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hello! Corina here with you today on this last Friday of June - Time flies when you are creating!

This week I thought I would play with the Black Eyed Susan Strip flower die. This strip die has 4 flower layers - I used only two layers to create this flower. The Die also has a centre for the Black Eyed Susan which I did not use for this flower today.

I inked each with blue ink and then misted both layers with water. I gave the water a few seconds to soak in and then I twisted each petal (pinching the tips) in the same direction. I allowed them to dry and sprayed with homemade glimmer mist.

I then layered one on top of the other and added a pearl brad. I love the look of this flower - so whimsical! I hope you try to make one and let me know how it turns out!

Dies used:
Flourish Leaf Strip - B178
Fanciful Flourish - B117
Victorian Romance Flourish - DL151
Mini Fanciful Flourish - B117S
Olive Branches - B147
Black Eyed Susan Strip - B338
Chicken Wire - FRM144
Fiona’s Magic Mirror - FRM140
Cherish (Set of 2) - B415

I hope you will play along in our weekly Challenge 138 - Wonderful Weddings. You could win a $20 shopping spree at the online Cheery Lynn Designs store!

Thanks for joining me today!

Frames, Flowers and Flourishes with Rhonda

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Happy Monday to all of our Cheery Lynn Designs friends!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog.

Today's card is all about the soft and pretty frames, flowers and flourishes that Cheery Lynn Designs has. I started my card with a frame, moved on to add some flowers and flourishes and came up with this:

I started with one of my favorite frames, the Fiona's Magic Mirror. Next I layered the medium size Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker cut from black cardstock. On top of that is an Oval Scalloped Stacker. Each of these layers is adhered with foam squares for dimension.

The Quill and Ink Pot die was used to cut my 2 Quills, and I layered a pearl spray in between them for a softer look.  The next layers are a little tricky, they are the Rectangle Horizon Boutique in the smallest size, then to the right you'll see the French Pastry Tiny Doily underneath the Cutie 4 bloom.  Underneath I tucked in the Flourish Leaf Strips that I cut in shades of beige and aqua.

A detail image to show you the dimension and layers.

Doily Flower card by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello the Blogging friends, its Julie here today. It has been the most beautiful week full of sunshine in Scotland and yesterday I went around our local Garden Centre with my mum. It's full of so much inspiration seeing all the gorgeous flowers in full bloom.

This week my card is for a Birthday which would be suitable for a variety of occasions by simply changing the wording with our word dies.

My flowers were cut out using white cardstock and inked to shade them. I layered various leaves and my tiny flourishes to form an arrangement on my card. My doily I also inked and added the Angel wing die offset to the back of the doily to make everything POP. You will see my Border strip was also inked in two shades and matches my Doily.

Good Luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge.

Enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you all next Saturday.

Stopping by with a "Hi!"

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here flying by with a card to say "HI!". I layered the scallop and classic circle stackers to create a card base I cut and shaped flowers from a coordinating paper pack to created the small gardenia's, sweet Christine's  and the small tea rose. Pearl beads and prills create fantastic centers for these flowers. I glued down blue card stock to a thin piece of card board to die cut the letters "h" and "i"--I outlined the letters with black. I touched the edges of the blooms with Wink of Stella and coated the letters. I completed the card with pen-stitching around the card.

A Krafty Romantic Card with Rhonda

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Happy Monday to you!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

This week's new challenge is "Keep It Krafty", so I decided to use Kraft cardstock for the base of my card.  I wanted to create something a bit romantic, yet still somewhat suitable for a masculine recipient.

"Always" (A2 sized card)

I started with the base card, then my first layer I used the Lady Kate Edger. Next, I used my Horizon Coved Rectangle Boutique Stacker, then added the Coved Rectangle Scalloped Stacker using Foam squares for dimension. To create a bit of interest I used a Steampunk Corner in the upper left of those layers.

The trimmed and inked Horizon Fishtail Banner was added with foam dimensional squares as well, then the Sentiment Tag 2 was the perfect anchor for either a sentiment or embellishment.

I opted to use the Dripping Butterfly as a focal point as I find it to be so very pretty!  To finish my card I then applied the "Always" rub-on sentiment directly to the paper above. (Notice the vellum cut of the Sentiments Tag 2?  The little Dandelions are another new favorite of mine, aren't they so cute?!!!

Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:
Lady Kate Edger - B278
Dripping Butterfly - DL266
Horizon Fishtail Banners - DL278
Dandelions - B453
Horizon Coved Rectangle Boutique Stacker Frames - DL251
Coved Rectangle Scalloped LG Stackers - XL11
Steampunk Corner - B437
Sentiment Tag 2 - B425
Margarita Border - B432

Please join us in our new "Keep It Krafty" challenge!  You could win a $20 gift certificate to the online store just for playing along.

Have a wonderful Monday everyone!
