Bah Humbug! with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is getting ready for the holiday season since it is just around the corner!
I recently received this sheep die cut from Cheery Lynn Designs. I have seen some adorable stamps with sheep and BAAAAAHHHH Humbug. I thought I would make the sheep Scrooge! LOL
(I really love the holidays, but this is the perfect card for that Scrooge you might know?)

I added the hat from "skeleton" and the scarf from "gingerbread family" The fun "holly" was cut in green and then the leaves colored with copic markers.

I can't stop using the stitched squares, ovals, rectangles and circles. So if you don't have them in your collection it is certainly a must!!!
I love the layered "poinsettia" too. Ive used it so many times over so many years of Christmas cards. I added a white pearl in the center for contrast. Lastly but not least, the fun "alphabet" for the title. I will say at first it looked a bit smaller but.....the font works wonderfully on a card! Not too big and not too small.

There are some pearls on the top of the hat and of course my favorite google eyes!  I free handed the grumpy frown and eyebrows with a fine tip black marker.

Hope you enjoyed!
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check out this week's challenge for your chance to win some $ at the Cheery Lynn Designs store!
Happy Holidays! See you next year!

#Iam4H Layout

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a layout using the new release dies. My family is in 4-H and the kids show rabbits as a project.  The bunny dies in the new release are a perfect accent for my 8×8" layout. I layered mats cut from the Deutschland Boutique stacker set with mats with the Deutschland Border set. I love how they work together nicely with the A2 Frames. We show Californian Rabbits and they have the exact body type as the Bunnies. To finish them off I colored their noses, feet, tail and ears gray/black like the real rabbits. I titled my layout #Iam4H to complete the page.

Peace on Earth!

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye joining the fun of Christmas in July! I LOVE crafting for the holidays and have to start in July to get it all done! Today I made a holiday tag with the shuttered window die...using it as the inside frame of a window looking out onto a winter scene. I used the two "caps" as a decorate window treatment and window sill. The little trees are ready to be decked for the holidays and the banner reminds us that it's a time for peace.

Stopping by with a "Hi!"

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here flying by with a card to say "HI!". I layered the scallop and classic circle stackers to create a card base I cut and shaped flowers from a coordinating paper pack to created the small gardenia's, sweet Christine's  and the small tea rose. Pearl beads and prills create fantastic centers for these flowers. I glued down blue card stock to a thin piece of card board to die cut the letters "h" and "i"--I outlined the letters with black. I touched the edges of the blooms with Wink of Stella and coated the letters. I completed the card with pen-stitching around the card.

Sing a Song of Spring!

3:00 AM 2 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here to bring you into the Spring spirit! Here in Texas we just went through Daylight Savings change where we "spring" forward our clocks. We are a few days away from the seasonal change to spring and a few weeks away from the Easter holiday as well. This card will help you celebrate all things spring!
I cut the musical staff mesh border and trimmed it to the size that would fit the large Sentiment Tag 1 die. The remaining piece of diecut was then cut in half again to line up the straight lines of the music staffs. Spray adhesive made adhering the mesh to the background easy. The frame was layered with eggs and flowers to inspire the feelings of spring! I hope you enjoy my card!

Baby Girl 8x8 layout with Amy

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Hi everyone,
It's Amy here today with you to share a layout.
The daughter of my neighbors had her first baby, she was born about five weeks ago.
Her name is "Meddie" and she is such a little doll I love making baby layouts ;-)))

Meddie

I did a lot of mixed media on the background and I love my Pennant Die it's so cute.
For the circle I just used a plate but behind the circle I used the beautiful Wedding Garter and just bend it around the circle to give it a lacy touch then I put some organza ribbon through the cute little holes.

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here playing along with this week's challenge Tickled Pink! I created my card with shades of pink from a distressed paper pad. To add the green color to the vines and leaves, I used chalks. I bit of line work around the word "love"helps it to stand out against the background. Be Mine Valentine!

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here a Steampunk Valentine For You! I adore these Streampunk--if you haven't already guessed and this Hearts and Gears set works perfectly with the individual Gears set and the larger Gear Mesh Border! I love using the Optimistic Set to make a Steampunk alphabet by adding in gears for the "o"s in words! The mesh was cut in Black and placed on the Peek-a-boo right and rubbed with a pink Inka Gold cream. Mirrored gold gears were matched up with gears on the hearts and glued above and below the gears. Both hearts were cut from a brushed red metallic cardstock but the smaller heart was inked with gold and rubbed on strategic gears with the pink Inka Gold cream. White pen stitching around the letters and the hearts complete the Valentine! I hope you enjoy my card! Thank you for stopping by!

Classic Noel Card with Amy

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Goodmorning everyone,
It's Amy here with you again and today I want to share another card.
I went for the traditional Christmas colours like Red, Green and Gold.
I'm still in love with the  dies from Cheery Lynn Designs

Noel

Sorry for the bad pictures but I think my camera is dying.
I cute out a whole bunch of leaves and branches then I coloured the leaves with brown paint to get extra dimension on my card.
I also created some kind of a mistletoe with a cute little bell hanging on top of it.
For that I used the B390 - Small Lollipop Cutie Fringe 1 and it's so easy to do, you just cut it out and fold it in half and glue it together.
Then strike your fingers downwards and to create some snow on it just use Glitter Snow on it.
On my flower I used some Puffy Paint.
For my card I used the "Silver and Gold" collection by BoBunny.
Thank you Cheery Lynn Designs for creating such beautiful dies to work with.

I hope you will all join our weekly challenge:

for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree of jummy dies.

Have a wonderful week,

Thankful for Family Layout

3:30 AM 5 Comments
Hi Everyone,
This week for Cheery Lynn Designs, I have created a layout on my family.  The photograph is of my Mother (right of photograph) with her siblings, and my Grandmother in the middle.

I really wanted to showcase how wonderful the Honeycomb Frame die is, a high favourite of mine that I have been wanting to use for some time.  I cut the Honeycomb from chipboard, and spray painted in white, using both the negative and positive pieces of the die in the layout.
The Thankful title, is one from the new release, and I added 'for family' using the Delicate Lace Script - both were cut from chipboard, and again spray painted white.
A wide range of flowers were assembled using various dies including Build A Flower #2Judy's Blooms, Cheery Blossom, and also the centre from the Manon's Wedding Garland.  A complete list of the dies I used for the foliage are below in the material's list.  The tiny leaves poking from some of the medium sized flowers were created using the Cuties 4 die, they really do make perfect leaves.
The challenge this week on the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge Blog is 'Autumn Colours', do pop on over and view all the details and enter.  You have a chance to win a $20 shopping voucher each week, and only have to use one Cheery Lynn Designs die on a project to be in the running to win!
 Till next week

Jersey Shore

3:30 AM 14 Comments

I grew up on the Jersey Shore and was quite dismayed to see a Hurricane with my name make landfall in my hometown area!  I was looking through photos and found these pics I had taken back in the early 70's and thought I would make a 12" x 12"scrapbook page for them.  This is Brant Beach on Long Beach Island where I spent many happy summer days.

Behind each of the photos, I placed a Nautical Wheeler Doily to which I added a bit of Distress ink.  Using my Dotties's Ric Rac I created borders to mount the bottom portion of the Homeward Bound frame.  I added Flower Soft to each of the cattails as well as a bit of Distress ink.  (Thank you, Jodi, for the idea to use just the reeds and cattails)  I used my Lower Case Lace Script alphabet for the words.  When I was a kid and learning to draw, I always called seagulls in the sky "M birds" as they looked like part of the letter "m".  So that is how I created the birds for my layout; I die cut the lower case "m" and then trimmed out my bird, lol.

Font Fun!

3:30 AM 8 Comments
Hello! Jodi here with a Holiday card full of fun tips and ideas!
I started by cutting the base of my card with the largest of the Scalloped Square Stackers Nesting dies, layered with the Classic Square Silver Stacker. The Dainty Dutch Deco Frame adds the perfect elegance to the background on my card.
To add dimension to my card and letters, I cut the letters "J" and "Y" from the cardboard of a cereal box.
I cut each letter three times.
I stacked each of the letters adhering as I went followed with a cardstock letter, creating the same feel as the expensive store bought letters for a much better price, and custom made to match my project!
For fun, I used the Ornamental Wreath as the “O” in my word. Here is a close up of the fabulous details on the wreath. The Wreath set comes with a beautiful bow die, but I chose to add a real bow for more texture on my card. I tucked in some foliage from the Holly Leaves and Wreath Strip.

Happy Holiday with Cheery Lynn Designs

3:30 AM 5 Comments

For my project today, I am using the red poinsettias that I did not use last week.  I think this would make a great front page to a holiday scrapbook or even a greeting for your front door.   I began with my Mega Italian Flourish Doily as a base for my flowers.  I added my six Poinsettia 2 flowers then created 6 white flowers using the leaves from the new Build a Flower 2 set.  I was going to add holly but I thought it might be too much with all the holly in the patterned paper.  Instead I added white Mini Fanciful Flourish which really worked perfectly with the flourishes in the DP.  I added some orange Stickles to the centers of the flowers.  To create the words, I used my Lace Script Letter H and the matching Lowercase Lace Script dies.  This is a 12x12 inch page.

Be sure to visit the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog for more inspiration and to join in on this week's Halloween challenge for a chance to win $20 to the store.

Fresh Fall Morning

3:30 AM 6 Comments
Sometimes when I look back through my photo files, there are pictures that I've forgotten about, and it's fun to revisit those memories with a new layout. This is a picture that I cherish of me and my sweet nephew, on a fall outing to Mount Mitchell. It was well into October, but the leaves still had not changed. It was however, still a gorgeous weekend to remember.
I used the lace edger to create a pattern around my large panel. The photo was matted on a panel embossed using the Rock Grunge plate. This is such a nice pattern to add texture without having a competing design. The gardenia was creating using Build a Flower 2 for the bottom petals and Pretty Petals for the top layer. The Asters were made using the Stacker Flower 5, and the large sun for the center, from the Embellishment Two plate.
Since fall is officially here, the new Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge is Halloween. So think of a great way to trick or treat us and play along!
