Joy to the World Poinsettia Wreath Greeting Card by Ginny Nemchak

3:00 AM 4 Comments
Hey there Paper Peeps! Ginny here to share a very country inspired Christmas greeting card I created with fabulous Cheery Lynn Designs Dies, festive patterned papers and perfectly coordinating ribbon trim. This card is an A2 size with a base of cranberry colored cardstock.

These scrumptious Poinsettias are a delight to make as they go together in a snap. I ran the die through to make 2 flowers.....but left the smaller two top layers off and created separate blooms with them so I got 4 flowers for the price of two hooray! After shaping them and assembling them I added a thin coat of a clear Stickle and sprinkled on a diamond dust glitter for a nearly iridescent look then popped in a pearly accent for the center.

To create a fuller wreath I cut two from the Joy To The World die and stacked them up. Additional bulk for the floral arrangement comes from Flourish #13 leaves that are finished with a green Stickle for a little sparkle.

The background is created with a crisp white French Pastry Doily and the tiny berry clusters are a great finishing detail cut with the Holly Leaf die from plaid paper and topped off with red bling..

Okay that's all for me. Wising all of you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Halloween Tag with Maggi Harding, September Guest Designer

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Hi there Cheery Lynn fans, Maggi back again for my last post.  :-(   I am so sad!

Creatively speaking, I'd have to say that Halloween is my favorite time of the year.  Although I don't really decorate for Halloween, I do love making Halloween themed items, especially tags!  I used lots of Cheery Lynn dies on this tag that I made from Graphic 45's Steampunk Spells.

I started out with a blank black tag and first adhered a cut from  the largest of the  Horizon Coved Rectangle stacker set.

These flowers and leaves  are cut from black cardstock using the Floral Bouquet Kit and Flourish # 14.  After assembling them, I misted with Lindy's Starburst Mist Golden Lump O'Coal and that gave them that fun gold gilded look.

For these flowers, I used the Floral Bouquet Kit,  Black Eyed Susan, and Flourish # 14 dies.

Of course, you have to have a frightful black cat  and a spider, both from new fall releases.

Love the Happy Halloween  banner.  I think it's on all my Halloween designs this year!  Top it all off with a funky bow and you've got a fun tag!

B777 - Floral Bouquet Kit 8 piece die set
CAFLRS14 - Flourish # 14 2 piece die set

I am sad that this is my last post with Cheery Lynn.  Thank you so much for having me as your guest designer this month.  I really can't say enough good things about these dies.  The cuts are always crisp and clean and literally fall out of the dies.  No more poking through tiny holes that my old eyes have a hard time seeing!

Just for You Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Goodmorning dear friends,
For today I'd like to show you a card that is a different style as you normally see from me. Without any distressing of the edges and with black outlining of my pretty papers. For this card I used the pretty "Vintage Spring Basics" collection by Maja Design. Last week I got my allotment dies and this time I used two of them on my card.

Just For You:
This was such a easy & fun card to make. Sorry for not keeping my promise to make a card with other papers then Maja Design but I am just so hooked lol.
The flower centers are made with a large diamond gem which are so pretty to use if you want to add some shimmer onto your card. On my card I also sprayed some shimmer spray and and added some star dust stickles on my just for you phrase to make it more shiny.

Grateful Card by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hello there, this is Eva here and today I am sharing my last  creation for the Cheery Lynn Designs blog.  It has been so fun to be on this team, but it's time to let someone else have fun as well.  I am forever grateful to have been on this amazing team.  I thought the perfect card to leave with would be a card that shows my gratitude, so I made a grateful card.  And since fall is coming I wanted to use the new Fall Leaves dies.

Since I love to watercolor so much, I wanted to showcase my card with that technique.  To start out, I created a card base using mint card stock.  Next I die cut a Rectangle Scalloped LG Purple Stackers Nesting Dies out of water color card stock and painted my back ground.  Next I die cut the Fall Leaves  out of water color card stock and painted them with water colors to create the prettiest fall leaves I could come up with and added them to my card in a collage.  I added a pretty bow to them.  Next I die cut the Grateful sentiment using black card stock and added two leaves in the corner.

Hope you like this little card and here is the list of the dies I used to create this card with:

Thank you for stopping by and I hope to see your card in our current challenges.

Hugs,
Eva

Thank You by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi crafty friends, Jenny here today!  I have another quick card to show you today.  I made this using flowers I'd pre-made during free time this summer.  I started with a white card base, then layered pink card stock under the black that was cut using  the Lattice Circle Frame.

I cut a two circles from the Classic Circle Stackers L4 set and then glued the Thank You Sentiment Circle on top.  The flowers were created using Judys Blooms and the centers are from the Embellishment #2 Set.  The small white accent flowers are the Dandelion die.  I used this die very often, it's such a great accent when you want a little texture or color but it's more delicate than leaves.

Sister Celebration by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi Cheery Lynn friends, it's JULIE here and today I am sharing a shabby chic style card using many of our beautiful floral and lace style dies.

My card measures 8x5 Inches and I started by adding a patterned layer of paper to my card which I added Frantage, distressed at the edges and added some ink. I also added a couple of corner accents and my double layered inked butterfly.

My next couple of layers were torn across the page and my small doily and leaves inserted behind. These layers were added with foam strips for extra dimension.

My main image was mounted onto my frame with foam strips. I added Frantage, my word Sister and a Flower into the girl's hair for extra detail.

My flourish was cut down and all the parts placed in at different angles. Adding my flowers and extra leaves finishing with accents of Pearls.

Birthday Wishes by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 1 Comments
A warm hello to you today. It is Debbie hosting the blog today from Debbie's Time Out.  So nice to see you visiting.

There are so many beautiful papers out there that I have chosen to go with fewer dies this time and let the paper be some of the pretty design of the card along with the beautiful dies.

Here I used the French Flair Stitch and Cut Tool   to cut out this design and then cut the sentiment from the Birthday Wishes Circle to layer on top of it.

This is cut from the Ribbon Eyelet Border  die. It makes a nice base to thread ribbon through. I added some bling to it as well as bling to the sentiment. This is a nice simple and quick card to make and I think it is so pretty.

I invite you to come join our Bi Weekly challenge
@ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree.  I always enjoy to see all the entries. Have a wonderful day.

Birthday Wishes and Soft Colored Dreams by Chrissy Mac

CLOSE UP OF MUTED PEACH DOILY AND BIRTHDAY WISHES SENTIMENT
Greetings!  Chrissy Mac here with another custom card project using some awesome Cheery Lynn Designs die cuts.  One of my favorite cards to make are Birthday cards.  There is always a birthday to celebrate around the corner.  I'd like to say that I make all of my cards ahead of time so that I am ready to give that special someone a handmade card, but it just never seems to quite work out that way and so I end up making one that matches the gift wrap or gift bag on the present or that matches a theme I have decided upon.  This one was for a friend who wears a lot of spring colors and so this is very fitting to her personality and style.

I really like square formats and decided to make this card 6.5" x 6.5".  Besides the occasion or person providing my guiding inspiration, there is always an artistic element or sometimes a few of them that guide and inspire my creative process.

BIRTHDAY WISHES AND SOFT COLORED DREAMS HANDMADE CARD
For this card...one word...DOILY!  Cheery Lynn has the most amazing assortment of doily style die templates and here I used the French Pastry Doily which is definitely one of my faves.  On the blue doily under the flowers I simply cut out the center and made a cut so that I could then fan fold it to give it some dimension and provide a nice background for the lovely dimensional Daisies made with the Cheery Lynn Designs Shasta Daisy die.

Have I told you how much I love paper flowers?  No?  Well then...I LOVE PAPER FLOWERS!  You just can't go wrong with handmade dimensional flowers.  Since I try to recycle or up-cycle on my crafty endeavors, for the center of the flowers I used some fake pearls from an old broken necklace.  Score!

Below is a list of the dies I used to build this project.  If you have any questions on how this was made, please leave me your questions.  Either way I would love to hear from you even if it is just to say hello.  Happy creating!

Spooky Dresser With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 0 Comments

BOO!
Today, Im sharing with you a super fast card for this Halloween season!
I have seen some similar card on line and this card was made using all Cheery Lynn Designs
 die cuts.

I first card the base of the card which is 5 x 6 inches. Then I diet the 4th smallest "rectangle" twice and cut them in half. You should have 4 pieces, I used 3 of them. Next chalk the edges in white. Add a white dot or button for the drawer handles.

The "ghosts" are part of the "ultimate Halloween' die cut set. Lots of goodies in that pack! I diet the ghosts 3 times and place a piece of black cardstock behind the eyes with a pop dot. The "boo" sentiment was die cut in paper wand then I die cut it again in foam to pop it up with some red tickles for the blood drippings....EW!

Vintage Layout with Maggi, Sept guest designer

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi there Cheery Lynn fans!  Maggi here today to share a layout I made for the September 15th Vintage challenge going on right now!  That photo is me and I suspect it was taken on the first day of the 2nd grade.  I used Graphic 45's ABC Primer papers to do my vintage look but as is typical of me, I had to add a bright splash of color with the red flowers.

I like to layer it up so I used the French Flair Pierce and Cut tool die to cut layers in different patterned papers.

I tend to mix and match my dies when I make flowers.  For the flower above I've used  Stacker Flower 5 on the bottom and the   Black Eyed Susan Strip 5 Piece Die Set for the top layers and center.  I really love that center piece!  The flowers below are made with the Black Eyed Susan Strip die.

I used Flourish #4  and  Flourish #7  to add to my floral clusters.  Flourish 4 is such a nice large flourish that I tore it apart and tucked in pieces here and there.

CAFLRS4 - Flourish #4
DAFLRS7 - Flourish #7

Thanks for joining me today and thanks to Cheery Lynn for asking me to guest design this month!! Be sure to enter the Vintage challenge going on right now.  You could win a $20 gift certificate to the store!  You'll find all the details on the September 15 challenge post.

You Are Awesome Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Hi lovelies,
Summer is nearly at its end and I really don't like that at all....the only good part of Autumn is the pretty layouts, cards and other projects you can make with all the lovely leaf & Halloween dies Cheery Lynn Designs offers. But for today I am still in the Summer time mood.  This time I made my card all about less color.  I used only white, purple & cream/light brown and the "You Are Awesome"die which is my personal favorite....

You Are Awesome:
Purple is my favorite color to scrap so I made a lot of flowers in that color after cutting out all the flowers I wanted to use. This card consists of three layers with the FRM132 - French Lattice Small Frame being one of them.

For the centers of my flowers I use all different kinds of things like pearls, bling, metal, stamen & beads...they give your flowers all a different look. The papers I used here are from the "Vintage Spring Basics"collection by Maja Design.  Oh I know, again that paper manufacturer...I will try and make something with other papers on my next post...
