Sunflower Thank You by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi everyone!  It's Jenny here today hosting the blog.  I've been in a summer cardmaking mood lately and I wanted to play with my sunflower die and some new-for-me rust effect paints.  I cut four of the sunflowers adhering the layers together with foam tape.  The black centers were created using a black paint pen.

Lately I'm using more black in my cards.  I love the striking contrast when using light accent colors. I sponged the flowers with distress ink, painted the petals with a shimmery acrylic and then brushed two colors of rust effect paint on top.  The thank you circle was just cut and colored with distress inks.

You Are Awesome Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Hi lovelies,
Summer is nearly at its end and I really don't like that at all....the only good part of Autumn is the pretty layouts, cards and other projects you can make with all the lovely leaf & Halloween dies Cheery Lynn Designs offers. But for today I am still in the Summer time mood.  This time I made my card all about less color.  I used only white, purple & cream/light brown and the "You Are Awesome"die which is my personal favorite....

You Are Awesome:
Purple is my favorite color to scrap so I made a lot of flowers in that color after cutting out all the flowers I wanted to use. This card consists of three layers with the FRM132 - French Lattice Small Frame being one of them.

For the centers of my flowers I use all different kinds of things like pearls, bling, metal, stamen & beads...they give your flowers all a different look. The papers I used here are from the "Vintage Spring Basics"collection by Maja Design.  Oh I know, again that paper manufacturer...I will try and make something with other papers on my next post...

2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release Part 3 Fall & Thanksgiving with Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 13 Comments
Hi It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out hosting the blog today . Glad to see you here.

This is a bendi frame card. I layered the French Lattice Small in the background. I had cut the French Lattice and used as a stencil on the card I posted on July 14th. I saved the French Lattice Frame  and this is my inked French lattice background for this card. I used the Coved Rectangle Classic   and the Coved Rectangle - Scalloped  for the framed opening of the card.

I am featuring  three new die sets from part 3 of the Cheery Lynn Designs fall and winter release on this card. They are the Happy Turkey Day 7 Piece Die Set ,the Fall Pumpkin Patch 3 Piece Die Set  and the Fall Leaves 8 Piece Die Set .

Along the top I have layered the beautifully detailed leafy flourishes from the  Fall Pumpkin Patch 3 Piece Die Set . I layer three green leaves from the Fall Leaves 8 Piece Die Set  behind the one of the
flourishes. The sentiment "Happy Turkey Day" from the Happy Turkey Day 7 Piece Die Set  was placed in the center of the background.

The turkey from the Happy Turkey Day 7 Piece Die Set  was layer at the front just behind the bendi frame. This turkey is just too cute and it's sign "Eat Beef" is just priceless. Small leaves of different colors from these sets were scattered around the card.

These two pumpkins are from the Fall Pumpkin Patch 3 Piece Die Set . I have layered them to the very front of the frame. The grass is the Grass Border  and I did three layers of it in three different colors. Some of the grass was layered behind the frame and some in front of the pumpkins. This bendi frame really give you lots of dimension and lots of separated layers. The three new die sets I used really will make beautiful Thanksgiving and fall cards.

Hi everyone, it's JULIE hosting the blog today. Thanks so much for all your visits and lovely comments left on my blog on blog hop day. It was great to read them all and if you have not seen the amazing new embossing folder that compliments the IOE Plates please check it out HERE. You also still have plenty of time to join in the hop with a chance of winning a $20 shopping spree here at Cheery Lynn.

Today my card I am sharing with you all would be suitable for an Engagement, Wedding, Anniversary or even just to say I Love You. We all like to have a card in our stash that will cover a variety of uses should we need one in an emergency, which I think this design does.

I layered the French Lattice die cut over my patterned paper and edged with some Stickles for added sparkle. You will notice on my banner top layers I trimmed off the sides and top, tattering at the edges. I then layered on top of my base banners with foam tape, adding my cute Sweetheart Candy.

My flower was shaded with Distress ink adding a sparkly gem to the centre and mounted on to my Lattice Hearts and Vines along with some more Stickles.

Finishing off my card with the elegant Doves.

Birds Everywhere by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 1 Comments
A warm hello to you. It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out with you today. There are so many beautiful bird sounds outside and birds fluttering everywhere, so I though I would go for a bird themed card.
I used the French Lattice Small die as a stencil for my background. I cut it out and then placed it on my paper and inked different shades of oranges and yellows on top of it then removed it leaving a beautiful background. I have kept the colored die cut and will use it on a up coming project that I will post on August 2nd so watch for it.
I cut and inked the Fancy Bird House  which has wonderful detail in it. The birds are from the Feathered Friends  and I cut them from a pattern paper which I think makes them look whimsical and cute. The corners are the Lace Corner Deco J . The sunflower fills in the corner, and I used the leaves from the Sunflower Set to add to the sunflower.

I want to thank you for visiting today and for the comments you leave. I invite you now to come join our challenge @ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge . This will give you a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. Have a crafty day my friends.

Cherish Cards with Amy Voorthuis

2:30 AM 2 Comments
Good morning lovelies.
I am so happy you decided to visit our blog today.  I would like to show you two simple cards that you can make for any occasion if you only change the word that is added. For these cards I used four dies and two Maja Design collections "Vintage Romance"{the newest collection} and "Life in the Country"! I did that so you can see it in two different colors schemes and to show you that you can use any papers you prefer.

Cherish:
As you can maybe see, I cut out the B776 - Sakura Flower twice for both cards and added the extra color on top of it. Later I added star dust Stickles {oh boy I just love that stuff} to give it more shimmer and also some twinkling tinsel spray from Lindy's Stamp Gang.

I also added some flat back pearls to the FRM132 - French Lattice Small die to give it more depth and give it that extra touch. Now you see that you can make two of the same cards and they totally look different only because you used another paper collection.

You're Special Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:00 AM 4 Comments
Good morning everyone.
At the moment I am totally into the spring feeling with my projects.  I think it's because mother nature gives us some warmer hours in the day.  Not as much as I like, but who's complaining.
This time I'd like to share a card made with the "Vintage Spring Basics" by Maja Design.  I used the colors blue, pink, yellow, green and soft brown.

You're Special:
I just really love the idea Corina gave me using the Dandelions in the flowers clusters it adds so much more to your projects. Thank you Corina ;-) This card has much layers & distressing as I just love to do. I had no idea which sentiment I was going to use at first because I used spring last week so I didn't want to use it again. But then I went through my word collection and I thought this was perfect for my card.

Believe by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 1 Comments
It's Debbie here from Debbie's Time Out welcoming you  to the CLD blog. It is nice to see you here. Today I am going to share a card with you featuring the  Quadrafoil Tag and the Fleur De Lis Border from the last new release. They are both such pretty and intricate designs.
My base was started with black cardstock. I cut two pieces of mauve paper and then cut one edge on each piece with the Fleur De Lis Border Set - B680. I cut a strip of the pattern paper and layered the two pieces of mauve paper on each side of it with the cut pattern facing each other. I then layered the French Lattice Small at the top. This gave me my base that I wanted to build on.
I used the Quadrafoil Tag cut in both purple paper and white paper. I fussy cut the oval from the white which was only a couple of short easy snips. I then layered the sentiment Believe to the center of the tag. I cut another tag in purple and cut the top and bottom flourish design from it to use as my corners. This set does come with a separate flourish design but I wanted bigger corner pieces so I chose to cut them from the tag itself.  For the One Free Wish  fairy I cut it in three different colors. Skin tone, flower pattern paper for the dress and purple pattern patter for the wings. The glitter on the wings give her the finishing touch. I did cut the fairy from the rest of the design as well.
For the bottom left corner I used the  Small Gardenia to create a beautiful flower and fussy cut some of the leaves from the paper to place under it.
Here is a closer look at the bottom half of the card showing the pretty borders.

I would like to invite you to come join our bi-weekly challenge @http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge . The theme is "Back to Nature".  So anything associated with nature . Fabulous You 8x8 Layout by Amy Voorthuis

3:00 AM 6 Comments
Good morning lovelies.
It's Amy here with you and today I would like to show you another layout! This time I went masculine  using the blue & cream tones from the "Vintage Autumn Basics"collection by Maja Design. I did this layout without any flowers which was weird in a sense since I always use flowers. Yesterday I got my new DT package in the mailbox and I had to dig in right away. Since I was on this team the first time I really wanted to have the B360 - Hot Air Balloons but always some new die got in the way of ordering it, but not this time around and I am so glad I have it!

Fabulous You:
The picture I used is one of my handsome little/big man Kevin. I really love his groovy smile in this picture and he looks a lot older here then he was at that time {he was seven}.
I went a little with the theme for this week "Sparkle and Shine" by using some black bling gems on the FRM132 - French Lattice Small Frame.  Hopefully you can see that in my pictures because the weather is really bad outside & dark. For the centers of my gears I used little metal brads.
Lets have a closer look:

Spring to Follow Card by Corina Finley

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hello Fellow Cheery Lynn Fans!

Corina here with you today to share my Cherry Blossom Card.

I used Cheery Lynns lovely intricate dies, Cherry Blossom pattern paper, white cardstock, ink and silver embossing powder to create this card.

I first cut my card base and matte out of white cardstock. I inked the matte with pink ink and adhered it evenly on the card base. Next came the Cheery Blossom pattern paper cut to the same size as the French Lattice Small die which is glue on top.

I then cut the Polynesian Sails Oval doily from white cardstock. I trimmed an oval panel from the Cherry Blossom paper 1/8" larger than the center hole of the doily. I glued to the back of the doily center and used pop dot to raise the doily to the center of the card.

The Horizon Fishtail Banners is cut from white cardstock, stamped and embossed in silver. My sentiment was stamped closer to the right side.

I  created Cherry blossoms for this card using the Cherry Blossom die set, the stem/branch from the Embellishment #2 set, white cardstock and ink. I cut, inked, and formed my branch with blossoms. I am very happy with the way they turned out!

Dies Used:

Cherry Blossom - B129

Polynesian Sails Oval - DL153

On Your Special Day by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Lovely to have you stop by today. It’s Julie here hosting the blog. This week my Mojo was at an all time low... don’t you just hate when that happens. So I decided I would play along with our Wedding Theme Challenge for this week and I was soon back on track.

I decided to make a 6x6 card and thought it would be nice to have colours resembling the bride, groom and bridesmaid on my card, so I chose White, Grey and Lavender to work with. I cut out my French Lattice die twice in grey card and pieced them together to fit over my lavender paper to form a square. When doing this I found it easier to have my lilac paper cut roughly to the size I needed. I then worked out where my crosses matched best to make my join and re-align the 2 pieces together and glued onto my lilac card,  finally trimming around the edges. My topper is two stamps stamped onto a pearlised linen card and die cut out with a little grey card mounted behind to make the design POP.

You will see I have used my Cuties Strip around my card. This die makes gorgeous flowers but is also great to use as accents onto your card. I die cut out in white card and inked the edges with a lavender shade. On the reverse of the paper I pressed my embossing tool into each petal, this gives a little more dimension to your card as doesn’t look flat when glued on.

I placed the Victorian Flourish die onto my card and used a couple of the waste pieces onto my design too. My miniature roses were cut out from linen card and when the glue had dried I rubbed over some lavender ink. Everything was placed onto my card along with my final touches of bling.

Thanks for looking at my card and I’d love if you have time to leave me a comment. Good Luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge. I will see you all next Saturday.

Happy Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Corina here with the Friday blog post. Thank you for joining me!

I created my flowers using the background patterned paper as a colour palette. This weeks card has a Fall Vintage feel! I love the brightness of the orange and the depth of the brown tones.

Here is a close-up of the floral arrangement. I used buttons, ribbon, seam binding, pearls and my homemade shimmer spray to enhance my flowers. Don't be afraid to cut up your die cuts and use portions of them. I used a piece of the Chasing Rainbows Doily on the top right of the floral arrangement.

I hope you will play along in our weekly Challenge 133 - Make it Manly. You could win a $20 shopping spree at the online Cheery Lynn Designs store.

Take care,
