Birthday Steampunk Owl Wishes with Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Hey crafty friends.  Bonnie from Make Time to Craft here today and I'm sharing what is supposed to be a masculine card for a teenage boy.  I struggle so much with cards for guys and I'm not really all that psyched about this one, but it wasn't terrible, so I thought I'd share it anyway.  We are all our own worst critics, right?  Anyway, I used some really cool dies on this card from Cheery Lynn Designs.
I pulled out my stash of Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Ink papers to find a nice brown for the owl.  I backed the paper with Stick It adhesive and cut it out.  I also added some wiggle eyes for fun.  I also used part of the Ivy Corner Flourish as a place for my owl to sit.

Cheery Lynn Dies used:

I stamped the birthday sentiment and then cut it out with the oval dies.  I wrapped some burlap string around the top of the card and mounted the sentiment over that.  I also added some burlap string loops to the top of the sentiment.  I wanted to continue the steampunk type theme so I also added some gear embellishments from Really Reasonable Ribbon to finish it off.

Friends Greeting Card with Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Hello die cut lovers!  Bonnie from Make Time to Craft here with you today sharing a pretty note card featuring some gorgeous dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
My card today is my version of CAS.  Yes, I know there are lots of layers, but it's still a clean look.  This is as 'CAS' as it gets for me.  <smile>
I created the paper for the butterfly die cut with a couple shades of blue Distress Ink.  It gives it just a bit of added interest.  The background butterfly and vine die cut is actually a border die.  It's a long thin border and it worked perfectly for this card when I cut it in half and stacked it with the sentiment in the center.  It's always good when you can find an alternate use for a die.  It makes it worth twice as much!

My card was topped off with a pretty bi-color bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 Tool with ribbon from the July Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The center of the bow is adorned with a pretty flower shaped pearl embellishment.

America the Beautiful with Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Hi crafty friends and happy summer.  It is HOT, HOT, HOT where I am in the northeast USA!  No denying that it's summer.  Tomorrow is the 4th of July holiday here in the US and nothing says 4th of July and summer better than a Patriotic color theme.  This note card was created with some pretty dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
This is a very simple design where I let the Lattice Frame as the background do all the work along with the small and simple Sweet Christine Flowers.  I just cut the Lattice frame in red and adhered it to white cardstock and then added a red and blue layer beneath it.  I wrapped some pretty ribbons around that unit and then at the very bottom you will see a layer of wispy white mulberry paper.  I then topped that with the sentiment panel which was also layered with blue cardstock and white mulberry paper.
The flowers are very easy to assemble.  I cut the flowers in red, white and blue cardstock.  I inked the white pieces in red and blue with an old script background stamp.  I then shaped the petals with a needle tool and glued the layers offsetting the petals for each new layer.  I then added the leaf layer to the base before adhering them under the sentiment panel.

Happy Birthday to You with Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Hi there Cheery Lynn fans.  Bonnie from Make Time to Craft here with you today sharing a pretty pink and purple floral birthday card featuring some gorgeous dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
It's no secret that I love to create three dimensional flowers, but today I'm using a die that I don't often use.  The flowers today were created with the Judy's Bloom die.  It makes really lovely flowers.  For the larger flower in the center, I layered petals using both sizes in the die set and the smaller flowers just use the smaller flower die.  I made the flowers with some pretty Distress Ink paper I made and the foliage is a mix of the dies from the Flourish 6 and Flourish 13 die sets.
For my background I layered the Quatrefoil A2 Frame 1 cut in white over another piece of Distress Ink paper, layered it on purple and pink cardstock and backed it with white mulberry paper.  I ran a layered piece of ribbon across the middle of my card behind the sentiment panel.

My card was topped off with a pretty bi-color bow I created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 Tool using ribbon from the June Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I added a pretty pearl heart shaped embellishment to the center of the bow.

Sending Birthday Wishes Floral Card with Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Hello and Happy Wednesday.  Bonnie here from Make Time to Craft today sharing a pretty floral birthday card created with pretty dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
My card today showcases the gorgeous Sakura Flower die.  I cut the die three times using different colors of Distress Ink Papers that I created.  The green is the base and then I fussy cut the flowers out of the purple paper and then the flower centers from the pink paper.  Then I layered and adhered them to the main panel of the card.  I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner and added a butterfly to the bottom left.  In order to balance things, I added three ribbon loops to the bottom right.

I finished my card off with a pretty bi-color bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 Tool using ribbon from the June Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The center of the bow was topped with a pretty heart shape pearly embellishment.

Decide What to Be Note Card

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Hi Cheery Lynn die lovers.  Bonnie from Make Time to Craft here with you today and I'm sharing an inspirational note card created with dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
I did something a little different today and used one of my favorite frame dies to emboss with.  Instead of putting your base plate, die, paper and then cutting mat, I did base plate, die, paper and embossing mat before the cutting mat.  It gives a pretty good embossing impression which you can see from the photos.  It was kind of hard to pick up in the photos and it looks even better in person.
I used the Ornament 9 die below my sentiment panel and rather than use the entire thing, I cut it in pieces to use as I wanted.

Cheery Lynn Dies used:
FRM154 Quatrefoil A2 Frame 2 (used to create embossing on background)

My card is finished off with a pretty bi-color bow that I created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 tool using ribbon from the June Ribbon Club assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Patriotic Floral Note Card with Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Hi Cheery Lynn fans.  Bonnie here from Make Time to Craft today with a pretty Patriotic Floral Note Card I created using pretty dies from Cheery Lynn Designs along with ribbon from the May Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
The Floral Bouquet Kit die set from Cheery Lynn Designs is so versatile that I find myself using it again and again - if not for the flowers, then certainly for the foliage pieces.  This set is a great addition to any die collection.

The flowers were cut in red, white and blue cardstock.  I inked the white layers with red and blue ink.  I then shaped the petals and assembled each flower, finishing off with a White Half Pearl for the center.  I then arranged the foliage pieces around the sentiment panel and then adhered the flowers over that.

My card is finished off with a pretty bi-color bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 using ribbon from the Patriotic themed May Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The center of the bow is adorned with a Star Shaped Pearl Embellishment.

Summer Floral Birthday Card with Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Hi Cheery Lynn fans.  Bonnie from Make Time to Craft here with you today sharing a bright and pretty floral birthday card I created with the lovely Cherry Blossom die from Cheery Lynn Designs.
I'm so ready from summer right now and there's nothing like a red, white and blue color palette to scream summer.  This color scheme works really well with the Cherry Blossom die, so I went with it.

Cheery Lynn Dies uses:

I cut the Cherry Blossom die in green, red and pink Distress ink paper.  I used the green as my base and then fussy cut the flowers in red and then the flower centers in pink and layered them to create the flower for the center medallion.  The background was created with the pretty Quatrefoil A2 frame 1 die which I also adore.
My card is finished off with a pretty bi-color bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 using ribbon from the Patriotic themed May Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The center of the bow is adorned with a star shaped pearl embellishment.

Hi Cheery Lynn fans.  Bonnie from Make Time to Craft here today sharing a fun card created with a couple of the new dies sets in the Let's Go Retro Collection from Cheery Lynn Designs.
This was a fun card to create and the new die sets make it really easy to create a scene.  Just cut the pieces in the different colors of your choice and assemble.  The space background was created using dark gray cardstock and I flicked on some white paint for stars.

Just for You Note Card by Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Hi Cheery Lynn die lovers!  Bonnie from Make Time to Craft here with you today sharing a pretty floral note card featuring some pretty dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
I created by background by cutting the lattice die out of blue cardstock and layering it on a cream cardstock background.  I then ran a piece of brown ribbon across the center of the card, added the base of the sentiment frame, layered the tan swiss dots ribbon on that and then added the sentiment panel.

Next I pulled out my very favorite flower die set - the Floral Bouquet Kit, and cut the flower and foliage pieces.  I shaped them using a foam pad and stylus, assembled and added white half pearls for the centers.  I then arranged the floral cluster below the sentiment.

Cheery Lynn Dies used:
FR16 Lattice

My card is topped off with a pretty bi-color bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 Tool using two of the ribbons from the April Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a crafty day!
