Love Tag

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here sharing a valentine tag. I began by diecutting the snowflake mesh border out of acetate to use as a template. I spray-misted with opaque white over the top of kraft card to create the "texture" on the background. Next I stamped a grid pattern over the kraft tag and distressed and inked the edges with pink.]

For the ruffle on the bottom of the tag, I adhered a liquid glue to the back of the kraft tag and attached my crumpled Ankara Lace Border to the edge. A bit of Ankara Lace also peeks out of the side of the tag where the kraft  is ripped.

To finish off the tag, the snowflake doily was layered with the Two of Hearts and some scrolling bling. Love and You were cut and added to the bottom of the tag.

One Free Wish

3:30 AM 5 Comments

As I was sorting through my Cheery Lynn Designs dies with the idea of making a white on white card, I noticed that the pattern in the moon of the One Free Wish die coordinates well with the new Historic Barcelona Square Boutique Stacker Frame.  So I gave it a go.  I began with a card base 5 5/8" square.  Using the largest die in my Historic Barcelona Square Boutique Stacker Frame set, I die cut the fancy panel and using spray adhesive adhered it to the card base.  Using the middle die in my Historic Barcelona Square Boutique Stacker Frame set, I die cut another fancy panel and adhered that to a 4 1/8" square panel.  Using dimensional foam, I popped this panel up on the center of my card.

I die cut a panel 3" square and dry embossed it with my Dotted Swiss Embossing plate.  I centered and mounted this on the previous panel again using dimensional foam.  I die cut my One Free Wish and glued this down to the embossed panel.

Hi Everyone, it's Julie here today. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and Santa left you all some lovely craft goodies.

Today I am sharing a New Year card to coincide with this weeks Festivities as we enter 2015.

I started by mounting cream and gold card together which I have distressed at the edges with my distress tool for a shabby worn look.

My clock you will see I also went around the edges of the Angel Wing with my tool. I added lots of sparkle from gems and put the hands of my clock to just after midnight to symbolise the start of the New Year.

My glasses also had sparkling gems added to symbolise the bubbles in the Champagne.

Wishing everyone a Creative 2015.

Vintage Holiday Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a Festive Holiday! Spending time with loved ones and making wonderful memories!

Today I am sharing with you a Vintage Holiday Card.

I created this card using pattern paper, a rich burgundy cardstock and three tones of green. I distressed the edge of the burgundy base and embossed the burgundy Sentiment Tag 2 with the Poinsettia embossing plate.

I second generation stamped a Script Stamp in brown ink to the top cream layer of the Sentiment Tag 2. *Second Generation stamping is when you ink your stamp and stamp off on scratch paper and then stamp. Leaving a lighter image in the true ink colour.

I adhered the Joy to the World sentiment which fits wonderfully!

I then wanted to create a wreath. I used the Joy to the World Wreath but wanted thicker boughs. I went to my die cut machine to cut another Joy to the World Wreath and saw the negative pieces that are removed from the Florence Filigree Doily die!

Perfect! No waste! I tucked them behind the Joy to the World Wreath and added the festive Holly Corner.

Holiday Ornaments

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here creating some last-minute ornaments for my tree and for gifts. I am using the 60 degree triangles from the Quilt and Fabric dies! These are a bit deeper than our normal Cheery Lynn Designs Dies and allow for multiple pieces of cardstock to be cut at once! This makes creating a project like this where you would need 20 triangles so much quicker and easier.

The notches on the die make it easy to fold up the edges of the triangle for gluing. This is the seam allowance for quilting but it is perfect for gluing to create the ornament.

To create the ornament you need a string of 10 triangles glued together as above left. Additionally you need a top and a bottom of the ornament that is constructed like on the right. I found that it goes together easier if you nip off the very tips of the allowance at the points. I allows the card stock to sit nicely and not have to be bent to allow for the final connections to be made.

  Cheery Lynn Dies used
60 Degree Triangles (Set of 3 Dies)
Holly Leaves - B183
Poinsettia Strip - B324

I finished my ornaments with a chenille stem ring for hanging the ornament and some shaped poinsettias and holly leaves. Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my project!

Merry Christmas Everyone by Julie Lavalette

Hi Everyone, it's Julie here hosting the blog today. In Scotland we have had our first covering of snow on the hills and it has turned very cold, but I don't think we will get a White Christmas.
My card this week has been arranged by building up layers of die cuts in complimentary colours of card.

You will notice I have added Stickles to help define my layers and to add the all important sparkle to a festive card.

My Poinsettia's were made by colouring White card with Distress Spray Stains and adding a little Gilding wax to the edges and a few stamens in the centres. I arranged my Holly Leaves and Pine Branches to form a Festive arrangement.

I stamped my centre image adding more Stickles and Silicone glue to raise it up slightly. Finishing off my card with a few Red Gems.

Good luck to everyone entering our weekly challenge

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and thanks so much for all your lovely comments throughout the year. I love reading them.

A Frosty Merry Christmas

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Sandy here and today I decided to use one of the older dies from Cheery Lynn Designs, Frosty the Snowman.  This is a fun die to use, you get all these parts that you can color and add to your snowman.  It comes with buttons, eyes and a mouth but I chose to use Stickles, can never have enough sparkle!  I die cut my snowman from Cryogen Metallic paper and then colored each piece with my Copic markers.  Isn't he a cutie!  I just realized I left off his arms but I never added arms to my snowmen so he is what he is, lol.  There are great branches that come in the die set.

My card base is 5 inches square.  I die cut the Joy to the World Wreath twice, once out of green card stock and again out of a soft green DP.  I layered them on top of each other staggering the pine a bit.  I bent a lot of the lighter green pine pieces up for some dimension.  I used dimensional Glue Dots to adhere my snowman to the wreath.  Die cutting Merry Christmas from green card stock, I trimmed off the snowflakes and used  Double-sided Adhesive Sheets to attach it to the card.

Joy to the World Card by Corina Finley

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello Everyone!

Corina here with you today to share another Festive Card Creation. This week I took my inspiration from decorating our tree!

I cut the ornament with angel wing and the Joy to the World sentiment both out of cream card stock. I embossed Joy to the World and the top of the ornament with Gold embossing powder and the bottom of the ornament with a mixture of clear and gold embossing powder.

I layered the pine branches to create a branch effect and added the Cutie die to the top to create a clean line. I popped the ornament up with foam adhesive and layered Joy to the World to the Sentiment Tag.

Dies used:

SHINE AND SPARKLE WITH ANITA KEJRIWAL

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Hello dear crafters,
I am Anita here with a very nice shiny and sparkly card for which compliments the festive season so well. I really love these lacy intricate dies with cheery lynn that imparts so much richness to my projects.
My card here is 6x6 inches and I have kept it really quick and simple keeping in mind that it can be made in bulk if needed. I have used silver mirror paper to give the shine and for the sparkle, I have heat embossed the flower and leaves and also the inner square doily die with glitter embossing powder.  The sentiment tag in the middle is again made sparkly by adding glossy accents and covering it with distress glitter rock candy.  The overall effect is so glittery.

The list of dies used:

Historic Barcelona Square boutique stacker frame (set of 3)
Royal scandinavian doily set of 2
sentiment tag 2 (set of 3)  B425
Poinsettia strip B324
Build a flower #3 B264
sentiment from Unity stamp
distress glitter rock candy
glossy accents
ranger holographic embossing powder silver and gold.

Do check out the challenge at the cheery lynn blog-Shine and Sparkle.
I hope you all are enjoying the festive season. Have a good day !!

Shaking Up some Cheer!

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here playing along with this weeks challenge Sparkle and Shine. I have created a shaker card with the circle stackers and Horizon Circle set!

I love how easy it is to cut a frame for your shaker I simply lined up a smaller circle inside my Horizon die, secured them with some washi tape, and cut them together in my machine.
I cut all of my snowflake pieces in white which was a little stark compared to the rest of my paper. I used pearl mists to add gold and pearl shimmer to my snowflakes and dull the stark white card stock.

For the shaker I cut a circle for the background and a circle out of clear acetate. I adhered the acetate to the frame with a clear lacquer.

I then added foam tape to the back of the frame to give my sequins and sparkles a space in which to move. If you desire chunkier shakings use another layer or two of foam tape. Make sure you have all of your pieces touching so there are no holes for shakings to escape!

I stack my shakings in the middle before adhering the frame. Here I used sequins, snowflake glitter and some crystals.

When you adhere the frame, make sure all sides are secure and then give it a shake to make sure it works!

I added my shimmer snowflakes to the frame and then used a clear gem as a spacer for a smaller snowflake to be placed on top. It added just the right height and was clear so could not interfere with the top layer of snowflake

As a final touch I added crystals here and there to centers and along the flurry strip!
