Happy St. Patrick's Day

8:21 PM 8 Comments

Sandy here with you today, Leslierahye is having technical difficulties.  Our challenge theme this week is Celebrate and since it is St. Patrick's Day, I thought I would join in the fun.  Using my French Flair Stackers, I created a white easel card.  Using green card stock, I added a Horizon French Flair Boutique layer to both the front and the base of the card.  Next came a DP panel, cut with a coordinating Silver French Flair Stacker.  Using green card stock again, I cut a Horizon Circle Boutique layer and another DP panel using a coordinating Silver Circle Stacker.  This was the perfect backdrop for this fun Leprechaun from Karen's Doodles. To create the panel across the center of the base, I used my Horizon Rectangle Boutique die.

For my flowers I used Tea Rose Small, Tea Rose Medium and Sweet Christine flower strips.  I die cut one strip of each.  Using a black Micron pen, I added some veins to the petals and then added green Distress ink.  Using a stylus and an embossing mat, I added some shape to the flowers.  Then I stacked the Tea Rose medium and small to create the larger flowers turning them so the petals do not line up.  The single blooms are the Sweet Christine petals.  I added some green Stickles to the centers of the flowers.  The leaves are part of the tea rose dies.

Lastly, I added Celebrate to the center panel on the base.  Finished size is 5 5/8 inches square.  Be sure to check out this week's Celebrate challenge for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs.

Masculine Valentine with Rhonda

3:30 AM 5 Comments
Happy Monday to you!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog and share my project with you.

I thought it would be fun to play along with our challenge theme for this week "Sweethearts - (Add a Heart)" and created a masculine themed valentine card.

"XO" (A2 Sized Card)

I started with the Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker cut from white cardstock, then used the A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped cut from kraft card stock for my next layer. Then, I used the A2 Frames Rectangular Classic and cut it from white cardstock to alternate my color scheme.

Using the rectangle cut, I then cut the pretty intricate Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker by adhering the die to the center with some Washi Tape. You can see the result below.

For my center cluster, I cut one Celtic Heart from kraft card stock, then using a pencil, lightly outlined the shape on white card stock. I trimmed and backed the design with white card stock, then adhered with foam dimensional adhesive.

Next, the smaller of the Two of Hearts was cut from kraft card stock and adhered with dimensional adhesive as well. I thought it would be pretty to cut one of the delicate Arrows and tuck it into the top heart.

I added the ribbon and branches to the top, then finished by adding pearls to the corners and to the heart along with my XO sentiment.

Cheery Lynn Designs Dies Used:
Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker A2 Frame - DL293

Shaking Up some Cheer!

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here playing along with this weeks challenge Sparkle and Shine. I have created a shaker card with the circle stackers and Horizon Circle set!

I love how easy it is to cut a frame for your shaker I simply lined up a smaller circle inside my Horizon die, secured them with some washi tape, and cut them together in my machine.
I cut all of my snowflake pieces in white which was a little stark compared to the rest of my paper. I used pearl mists to add gold and pearl shimmer to my snowflakes and dull the stark white card stock.

For the shaker I cut a circle for the background and a circle out of clear acetate. I adhered the acetate to the frame with a clear lacquer.

I then added foam tape to the back of the frame to give my sequins and sparkles a space in which to move. If you desire chunkier shakings use another layer or two of foam tape. Make sure you have all of your pieces touching so there are no holes for shakings to escape!

I stack my shakings in the middle before adhering the frame. Here I used sequins, snowflake glitter and some crystals.

When you adhere the frame, make sure all sides are secure and then give it a shake to make sure it works!

I added my shimmer snowflakes to the frame and then used a clear gem as a spacer for a smaller snowflake to be placed on top. It added just the right height and was clear so could not interfere with the top layer of snowflake

As a final touch I added crystals here and there to centers and along the flurry strip!

Patriotic Page with Rhonda

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Greetings and welcome to the Cheery Lynn Designs blog!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog.

I made a patriotic page today featuring a photo of Mt. Rushmore that I took when we were on vacation this summer. There was something so patriotic and majestic about seeing the monument in person.

I started with an 8x8 piece of white cardstock and used Fancy Corners #4 on the corners. Next, I used the Scalloped Rectangle and aligned it to cut a 7x7" square. (This is one of the Reflections Boutique dies.) At the top I used a Victorian Romance Flourish as a hanger type of element in between my layers. Lace Heart Square is next.

I had some pieces left from my project last week, so you will see the Foliage Embossed white cardstock and French Lattice on top, tucked under the Southern Charm Valance on the right.

To anchor my photo I used the Polynesian Sails Oval, then layered a medium Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker with foam squares. The photo is then attached with foam squares. This gives me a lot of area to layer my cuts. On the bottom you'll see a snip of Sophia's Heart Border, another piece left over from a previous project.

Layered on the right are the Quills and a Wheat cluster, topped with the Star and Birds of Earth and Sky. To the left of that is a Branch. There are Cloud cuts layered under the photo and one attached with foam squares.

Cheery Lynn Designs Dies Used:
Fancy Corner Cuts #4 - B431
Scalloped Rectangle - DL199
Lace Square Heart - DL189
Polynesian Sails Oval - DL153
Clouds and Rain - B320

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here sharing a sweet little friendship card to say "hello" to someone dear to you. I've used the new Dandelion set along wit the Vintage Bicycle. Queen Anne's Lace, Burlap Border and the Circle Lattice are layered behind the Blue Horizon Circle. Grass Border and Dandelions finish off this card with a Hello Sentiment.

TIP : Metallic creams add a bit of sparkle to elements of the die cut to give the illusion of metal on the Vintage Bicycle.

Hello!

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here sharing a cute shaped greeting card with the January New Release Bird House, my new favorite Sweet Williams Strip and the Tiny Flower Kit. Making shaped cards with the stackers is super easy. Fold your card stock and line up the fold to the inside of the cutting blade. Cut your shape. The fold will still be intact. Layer stackers on top and add you card front and embellish! For this card, I cut everything out of white watercolor paper and hand colored certain elements to match my digital image. I finished off the card with a bit of Wink of Stella glitter on the dragonfly wings, the sentiment and the edges of the flowers.
