Buzzing by to say Hello!

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here sharing a sweet little friendship card to say "hello" to someone dear to you. I've used the new Branch set with the Tiny Flower Kit to create a blooming tree. I've used the striped bra overlay to create a BEE HIVE!!! I love these overlays as they have the potential to be some many other things!!!  I finished off the card with a fun little bee, some glittery flower centers,  and the Hello Sentiment!

Collage Focus with Rhonda

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Happy Monday crafty friends! It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

I've got a layered card to share with you today that used up a few of my scraps on the craft table. I used bits of things in a collage, then cut it with my Classic Silver Circle Stackers die.

I started with the Fiona's Magic Mirror which is peeking out from behind the Foliage embossed layer which I cut using the Card Maker Classic largest die. Then the Horizon Coved Rectangle Boutique Stacker Frame followed by the Concentric Circles Mesh Border which was trimmed to fit.

The floral cluster is accented with a raffia bow and curled tails.

Follow Your Dreams

3:00 AM 4 Comments

Hi friends!  It's Holly posting today, and this is my last guest designer post for Cheery Lynn Designs.  I have truly enjoyed creating my projects to share with you this month, and I hope you found some inspiration from my pieces.  Many thanks to Bj and to Sandy for asking me to be a guest designer and for helping me out.  For my final project, this piece really speaks to my heart.  I was able to follow my dream this month as a guest designer, and it has been a blast.

I used the following dies on my project:

I covered the Hinges with Tarnished Brass Distress Stain, let them dry, and then lightly sanded them for that vintage look.  I cut out the Sweet Williams flowers from white paper, rolled the edges of the petals into a peach-colored ink pad, curled the petals with tweezers and then assembled them with a small antique brass brad.  I sponged the same peach colored ink onto the Black Eyed Susan flower petals and then curled the petals with tweezers before assembling the flower.

Here's hoping you have fun following your dreams!  Thanks for visiting with me this month!

Heat Up Some Die Cut Fun!

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here and have I have something fun to show you! With the last release, Cheery Lynn Designs brought in a cool new "fabric" substance to play with for your mixed media needs. It's called Lutradur and it's this crazy product that originally came from the automotive industry. It's white and webby and can be colored with a variety of methods but today I left it in it's white form for my snowy card.

I began by die cutting the miniature rose and the daisy strip. To make it easier to cut place your mixed media sheets on the die--you can cut up to 3 of the thinner ones at one time easily when you place a piece of paper for them to cut into. Shimming your machine with the metal adapter plate can also enhance your cutting--you just need to test your machine to determine what work best for you.

After the materials are cut, I remove them from the sheet and stack them on the tip of my pointy die cut tool. With the heat tool I heat the flowers until they start to melt and change shape and curl. When I am happy with the look I remove the heat. For the miniature roses I stacked 4 at a time-the heat also fuses the centers together around the metal tool. For the big daisy I stacked 2 medium and 4 small daisy pieces and repeated the heat process. Where the "fabric" is thinner fun holes will appear. My son also found that if you heated the material enough to catch it to a piece of metal, you could then "pull" strings. He used a ¼" piece of material to pull the fine strings to the left of my floral cluster. There are so many fun applications to explore!

My second new favorite thing...die cutting metallic card stock and mirror card stock--it cuts like butter with a hot knife! Just wait until you see the New Year's Eve card I have planned for you towards the end of the month! It's just beautiful what you can do with the shiny mirrored card stock and Cheery Lynn Dies! Today I used silver for my little snowflakes.  I hope you enjoyed my card today and some Lutradur tips! Thank you for stopping by!

Celebrate!

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here to share with you a fun celebration card! These happy little dancing mice are celebrating the Scottish New Year. The beautiful Doily Stacker Circle sets off this dancing duo. A couple of white and teal flowers echo the colors of the mice and their clothes to complete the look. A Classic Circle is tucked between the Horizon Circle Boutique Stacker and the Doily Stacker bringing it all together!
