End of Summer Time by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi Everyone, it's Julie here today. Can you believe we are at the end of August already. In Scotland the nights are starting to get darker earlier in the evening and my beloved little Robin has re-appeared back in my garden. All signs summer time is about to end and the clocks will go back soon and winter will be upon us. So this is where my inspiration for this weeks card came from.

My card is 8x8 in size and fits the Mega Doily Die perfectly. With this die cut I used patterned paper, dry brushed on some Gesso and inked the edges to give a shabby feel. My Clock, Victorian flourishes and corner dies were cut out in a lilac shade of paper. I stamped a crackle stamp onto the clock and corners and then inked the edges on all these die parts and once again dry brushed some Gesso on.

I added some glitter glue onto my clock face and little diamantés.

My flowers all started off as white cardstock. They were cut out and I added different shades of ink, a little stamping onto the Shasta Daisy for texture and a little flower soft into the centres. My leaves were cut from green card stock and the edges inked.

My butterflies were cut out in pink patterned paper and I used the angel wing to cut out the back of the butterflies in white cardstock, again inking the edges.

Daisy Smile Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying your last few days of August. Summer was enjoyable but I am ready for Fall to blow in! Fall is my favourite of the year with the beautiful reds and copper palette covering the country side.

Did you see Anita's post on Wednesday? She used the Dimensional Large Leaves # 2  to create a leaf cluster in rich colours! If you haven't yet, you should take a peek.

I wanted to take a step away from the Christmas themed cards and create a card using a floral die. I chose the Shasta Daisy but used the center from the Black Eyed Susan Strip.

I used the ticket die on pattern paper and tied two tickets together with twine. I adhered them on top of aHorizon Fishtail Banners. I also placed the sentiment die "Smile" on a banner.

My Shasta Daisy was created using a light cream paper and inked with brown on the edges.I love the way theHorizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames fit together in different configurations.

Dies Used:
Shasta Daisy - B310
Black Eyed Susan Strip - B338
Horizon Fishtail Banners (3 Dies) - DL278

I hope you will play along in our weekly Challenge - Frame It. You could win a $20 shopping spree at the online Cheery Lynn Designs store!

FALL COLOURS

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Hello !!!!!

A big hug to all of you and I hope you all having a very good time . Here I am with Wednesday weekly post and this time , I 'm featuring a fall card. The season of Autumn is in full swing and the fluttering og brown leaves inspired me to make this. Here I have cut the Fiona's magic mirror as a frame  and also cut a second piece of the same die and did some fussy cutting to highlight the first frame frame. This way we can use the dies to give more ornate look to our work. The leaves are of course the cheery lynn large leaves and I love the natural look of these leaves, The back ground is also not a patterned paper but have been created with stamping and distressing using a penny black stamp. I have used glossy accents on the stamped images and as droplets of water on the leaves
I have cut the leaves and acorn and twisted and molded it to give a natural effect and distressed them with distress inks.

Dimentional large leaves # 2 D 136
Fiona' smagic mirror-FRM 140
stamps=crafty indivual, Just rite and penny black
inks-walnut stain. vintage photo, crushed olive. rusty hinge and memento onyx black
twine from stash

Take out the best cheery lynn frame dies to take part in the challenge=Frame it. A 20 $ shopping at the cheery lynn store is the prize.
I hope you leaves a few good words for my card.

Back To School Greetings

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a back to school card! I love this time of year and creating a simple layered card like this with the scalloped square stackers and the Horizon Square die are so much fun! Using coordinating papers and precolored digital images make this type of card making super fast and easy! A few simple embellishments [paper flower and black on black flowers] add just the right touch!

Vintage Holiday Card with Rhonda

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Happy Monday Cheery Lynn friends!  Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

I have a holiday themed card to share with you today created in a more neutral color scheme. The new release has beautiful holiday sentiments and this card features the all new "Noel" die.

"Noel" (A2 size card)

I used one of the Horizon Coved Rectangle Boutique Stackers as part of my base. On top of this, I've adhered two cuts of the Tree Blowing In The Wind and adhered them on the horizontal in position.

The Oval Coved Rectangle Boutique Stacker is layered on top of it using Foam Adhesive for dimension.  You'll see that the tree peeks out and creates a framed shape. Noel is cut and adhered next.

To accent the sentiment, I've used our Tea Roses in Medium and Small. Cut a Holly Flourish in neutral paper, then cut it apart to tuck it in among my florals.

I've misted my flowers with gold shimmer mist. The Lace Corner Deco 2 was cut twice and adhered on the top ad bottom, then accented with pearl gems in a neutral color.

A Little Birdie Told Me by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi everyone, it's Julie here today hosting the blog.
I hope you are managing to get some creative time to yourself. Today I have made a little Mediterranean inspired card. My husband and I love to go to the island of Majorca where you see many white washed houses with shuttered windows.

My window was cut out of a cereal packet which I then painted to give a shabby feel. I mounted the window onto a little grey card, placing a little spider ribbon behind to give the illusion of a net curtain. I then added my Anastasia border behind to look like curtains. Don't you just want to peek in the window ! I love having the little window box as it is a lovely finish touch to add the Wow factor.

My Penny Farthing (bicycle wheel) I cut out twice in black and once in silver card stock, paper piecing it back together over the first complete die cut. My little birds were highlighted with some distress inks.

My brick wall was made using Cheery Lynn's embossing plates, please check them out here on the shop blog. I rubbed some distress ink over the embossing plate, placed a white piece of paper onto it and ran through my die cutting machine using the rubber embossing mats. So easy to do with fabulous results.

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hello!

Corina here today, hosting the blog, to share my newest card creation with you all. I wanted to use my window die and create a winter themed card.

I cut pieces from the Icicles Border and adhered them to the Shuttered Window w/ Flower Box. I used pieces from the new release Joy to the World die and Wreath Strip die to create my swag.

The brown cardstock that I cut with the Horizon Fishtail Banner die - was first cut with the Old Barn Board die to give the appearance of wood.

A Winter White Hello

3:30 AM 7 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here sharing a winter hello with a few more dies from the new release. I used the new Snowflake Doily again which goes along with this weeks challenge and I added the new Dancing Snowflake Flurries! This is such a fun die! It has little dots here and there on circles on the swirl that just beg for some bling and bigger circles in "flowers" that want bling too! I went with white on white-with-some-glitz. For all of my snowflakes I misted my paper with a pearly mist that added a nice shimmer. To complete my card I added a few flowers and a scattering of snowflakes and a simple Hello.

Season's Greetings with Rhonda

3:30 AM 5 Comments
Happy Monday to you!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

I have a bit of Christmas inspiration to share with you today featuring our new release dies "Season's Greetings Ornament" along with some "Dancing Snow Flurries" accents.

I cut the Season's Greetings Ornament from a cereal box, then colored the design using a paintbrush and some color mists. The green circle layer behind it is cut from corrugated paper. to help the design pop a little I used a Scallop Circle cut from vellum behind it.

The Lilith Doily Edger was cut to create a border strip.  I used it on the bottom under the layers and the little bit that I cut off, was folded over to create a tab at the top.

Tip:
I adhered the Season's Greetings Ornament to the vellum using small amounts of Glossy Accents. To then attach the vellum to the green corrugate layer, I flipped over the vellum and touched my Glossy Accents again on the larger areas only of the design.  It worked really well.

I took some inspiration from Julie's recent post to distress the edges of my Poinsettia Strip flowers with a touch of gesso. I loved how it gives a bit of a shabby feel to them.  I also misted them and crumpled them before assembling and adding the gesso.
