I decided to make it a rainbow card with using one leaf and a brick background. That's it.

Love the details of both the embossing and the leaf. The sentiment is from Verve.

Halloween Door With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hello crafters! Welcome back to another fun card using some new and old Cheery Lynn Designs Dies. The adorable "felines" are purrrrfect for Halloween! I wanted to use the screen door and then make an awning over the top. The awning was made by cutting 1/2 strips and curving the edges.

The cute ghost from "happy haunts" is a green goblin...lol  The sentiment from "Happy Halloween twiggy wreath" its the perfect size for the screen door.

The spider web (nest) also has an adorable spider too. I added some glittery ribbon and two sequins for the doorknob. The background on the bottom I embossed it with "old brick"

The bats are from "bat family". I used the 2nd and 3rd smallest bat and just dotted the eyes with a signo white pen. Then I bent them a bit and added glue to the center of the bats so they appeared to be flying off the awning.

Have a great day!

Hello everyone! Can you believe it is July 1st today? Well this is my favorite month of the year because there are so many birthdays and of course my favorite holiday the 4th of July! Today I decided to make a card to celebrate the holiday. Using a few Cheery Lynn Designs Die Cuts.

I used the pierced stars, the curved border and embossed the white cardstock with old brick.
Easy to make and perfect for invitations, birthday or just because.

Hopping By To Say "Hi" with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi! April Fools Day! I hope you laugh all day! Today I'm sharing a new Easter card for Cheery Lynn Designs. I love the "bunnies" and it was a perfect match to my patterns paper. I was going to leave the colors blue and white but then I decided to add some orange carrots with the "sun"

The "clouds" also come with the "sun".  I used the largest "cloud" for my sentiment. The "curved border" was die cut and then embossed with dots.

Closer view of the sun and googly eyes.

More googly eyes on the bunnies and liquid appliqué for the bunny tails. The blue cardstock was embossed with "old brick" The little carrots are stamps from Verve colored with orange Copic.

Thanks for hopping by today!
Have a great day!

Birthday Wishes with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello! Today I'm sharing a new card for Cheery Lynn Designs! It seems like a while since a made anything new...I've been on a mini album trend lately. I was thinking about making a card since I knew my post was on the first of the month....as the weekend went by I realized OMG! It is Wednesday! I forgot it was a shorter month? Where does the time go...March already!

So, as I was scrambling today...yes, Tuesday evening after work....lol, I was able to think quick birthday card....now who doesn't have that come up quick? I used the new release "mandala doily 2" It's so detailed and of course beautiful like so many Cheery Lynn Die Cuts. I also used "floral bouquet kit" flowers and leaves...I really love this die cut set. There are so many things to die cut out. I added some Gala Glitz in silver in the centers. On the top and bottom, I used curved border set.

The sentiment was stamped with purple ink on one of my favorite "stitched circles" There are pop dots behind the circle and the doily. You can't see the embossed "old brick" on the first to pictures...sorry about that...but on the close up here you can see it better. Yay!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Love all your wonderful comments too!
Have a great day!

Give Thanks with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi! I hope you had a good time Blog Hopping yesterday with Cheery Lynn Designs
I'm sure there is still time to hop so be sure to check it out!
Meanwhile, today I'm sharing with you a card for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. I have been making several cards with yellows, oranges and kraft so I thought I would remove the orange this time. The stamp image was colored with copic markers and then I chose the papers...it was die cut out with "pierced circles"

I stamped a sentiment with embossing ink and used white embossing powder on the "horizon fishtail banner" It is my go to die cut for many projects. I made the "daisy strip" flowers using all of them for the larger flower and then using the 4 smaller flowers for the smaller flower. The inside was made using the "black eyed susan strip" cut in half for both flower centers. I used the smaller of the leaves from "flourish #14" and in the background the beautiful "cape cod" doily

You can see here the "old brick" embossing plate. Love it!

Good Idea Card by Corina Finley

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hello & Happy Friday!

Corina here with you today, to share with you a card background that I created using Watercolour paper, Distress Inks and a Cheery Lynn Design Embossing Plate.

I absolutely love to create texture and depth on my cards.  This is a technique that I had fun doing and there are so many possibilities. Try a variety of Cheery Lynn Embossing Plates with different colour combinations -the skies the limit!

I used the mini Distress inks for the convenience of the smaller pad. I could apply the inks directly to small sections of the Old Brick Embossing plate.

I then spritzed my Watercolour paper and my inked Embossing plate with water. I applied the Watercolour paper spritzed side down, on top of the inked embossing plate. I then ran it through my Die Cut machine on the appropriate settings for normal embossing.

If you place a piece of paper towel under your Embossing plate while you emboss with your Die cut machine, it will soak up your excess water and you will have less mess to clean!

As you can see from the picture above, the embossed Old Brick shows up great!

I wanted a more dramatic look so I gently rubbed my Fired Brick Distress Ink over only the top embossed layer. I then spritzed with water to blend the Distress Inks.

I then repeated this last step with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Above is a close up of the texture these steps created! Love it!

The card was made up from a variety of Cheery Lynn Dies. I created a Sweet William flower to bring the background colour to the forefront. I added silver paint to the music notes, gears and key to tie in my embossed stamped sentiment.

I also would like to point out the Border of Circle cut outs on the bottom of my card. That is from the New Release Deutschland Border Set. This border strip die cuts the small circles and also perforates a line of dots, above and below the circles for wonderful detail!

A Little Birdie Told Me by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi everyone, it's Julie here today hosting the blog.
I hope you are managing to get some creative time to yourself. Today I have made a little Mediterranean inspired card. My husband and I love to go to the island of Majorca where you see many white washed houses with shuttered windows.

My window was cut out of a cereal packet which I then painted to give a shabby feel. I mounted the window onto a little grey card, placing a little spider ribbon behind to give the illusion of a net curtain. I then added my Anastasia border behind to look like curtains. Don't you just want to peek in the window ! I love having the little window box as it is a lovely finish touch to add the Wow factor.

My Penny Farthing (bicycle wheel) I cut out twice in black and once in silver card stock, paper piecing it back together over the first complete die cut. My little birds were highlighted with some distress inks.

My brick wall was made using Cheery Lynn's embossing plates, please check them out here on the shop blog. I rubbed some distress ink over the embossing plate, placed a white piece of paper onto it and ran through my die cutting machine using the rubber embossing mats. So easy to do with fabulous results.

Hope you have enjoyed looking at my card today and I have managed to inspire you. Good luck to everyone entering our weekly challenge and I'll see you all next Saturday.
