Don't Slam the Screen Door!

4:30 AM 0 Comments
Happy Saturday!  Cherry here for the CLDB!  I have a card to share today.

I used the Screen Door die for my main focal point.  Such a cute die with a real screen!! Too add more dimension I added thick foam to the back side of the door and the kitty cat.

I added the tags #1 and stamped a sentiment.

 I love the kitty cat!

I gave the edges a bit of  ink for aging.  To frame out the door I used the Dutch Doily rectangle frame.

             That screen is the cutest!!!!!

 Thanks for visiting, Cherry

Holiday Door Card Set with Laurie Schmidt

3:00 AM 1 Comments

Laurie here form Stamping Up North sharing a Holiday Door Card Set with you today.

First up is the Christmas door.
I had SO much fun decorating this! I used the Christmas wreath for a swag and added some tiny holly here and there. The curtain, sign and snowflakes are cut from the Merry Christmas Gift Envelope set. I added some festive presents on each side of the door, and used a Celtic rectangle for a door mat. A few pearls and enamel dots and it was done!

I started out with some fun patterned paper with bright colors for my Halloween door, and decorated it with a Jack O Lantern, cat, and ghost. I adhered a spooky web and spider to the window with a few bats flying around.

Next up is the Thanksgiving door.
I used some rich autumn colors, cutting out the leaves, sentiment and bow in shimmer paper. I LOVE the detail on these dies! Once again I made a swag with the wreath die and used some of the screen material included with the door for the window. The brick steps were made with the fireplace die, and I embossed some lines to add some siding in the background.

After celebrating all those holidays it's time for vacation! For this beach house door, I used some more of the screen material that is included with the screen door die. I used a shutter from the window die for a curtain, and decorated the door with a fun anchor. I adhered a beach ball, star fish and sand dollar at the bottom. The door mat is a piece from the gauze border die.

I have really enjoyed making cards with Cherry Lynn's Window, Fireplace and Door dies! They will be so fun to send out for the holidays.

Halloween Door With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hello crafters! Welcome back to another fun card using some new and old Cheery Lynn Designs Dies. The adorable "felines" are purrrrfect for Halloween! I wanted to use the screen door and then make an awning over the top. The awning was made by cutting 1/2 strips and curving the edges.

The cute ghost from "happy haunts" is a green goblin...lol  The sentiment from "Happy Halloween twiggy wreath" its the perfect size for the screen door.

The spider web (nest) also has an adorable spider too. I added some glittery ribbon and two sequins for the doorknob. The background on the bottom I embossed it with "old brick"

The bats are from "bat family". I used the 2nd and 3rd smallest bat and just dotted the eyes with a signo white pen. Then I bent them a bit and added glue to the center of the bats so they appeared to be flying off the awning.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a great day!

Christmas Gatefold Card with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi! Welcome back to another card for Cheery Lynn Designs! This week we are featuring all Christmas cards....enjoy!
I wanted to make a card with doors, so I used the "Screen Door With Dog" I reversed the dog and door for the opposite side by flipping over the cardstock. There are magnets between the papers so you can close the doors or keep them open.

The sentiment is from "Winter Holiday Word". The "Wreath Strip" was cut a couple times and layered throughout the door with tiny red pearls. I also added them to the collars on the dogs.

Inside I used the "lace christmas tree".  I did cut the bottom off a tad so it fit in the gatefold.

Here is one side...
The snow is liquid appliqué in white.

Here is the other side....

Home for the Holidays with Rhonda

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Happy Monday crafty friends!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

I've got a holiday themed card to share with you today with a bit of masculine appeal I think.  It's really fabulous how Cheery Lynn Designs dies can be ultra beautiful with florals and flourishes with lace touches, but the details in our other dies are equally amazing.

"Home for the Holidays" (3.5" x 5.75" Tent Fold Card)

The inspiration dies for my card were the Screen Door with Dog and Pine Branches dies.  I had a scrap tiny doily left over and thought it might make the perfect base for creating a holiday wreath.  I just bent my pine branches a bit to fit them around the doily and adhered them with a touch of glossy accents.

Once I had them in place, I used a touch of white ink and diamond stickles to give the feeling of snow. The dog here is cut from a cereal box and is a nice sturdy chipboard, then I inked him.

I used two layers of the Tiffany Border behind my door panels.

Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:
Screen Door w/ Dog - A2165
Ankara Lace Border - B332
Tiffany Border - B137
Horizon French Flair Boutique Stacker Frames - DL271
Pine Branches - B146
French Pastry Tiny Doily - DL234

Be sure to play along with our new challenge this week which is Autumn Colors.  You could win a $20 shopping spree to the Cheery Lynn Designs online store!!!  We love to see your beautiful creations!

Thanks so much for stopping on over, have a fabulous creative day!

Holiday Step Card with Cheery Lynn Designs and Core'dinations

3:30 AM 21 Comments
All week long the Cheery Lynn Design team is creating with Core'dinations paper, and over at the Core'dinations blog, they are using Cheery Lynn Designs dies.  What fun we are having!

Using an assortment of Core'dinations Whitewash Cardstock, I created a step card.  There are 3 steps, on the first and second I began with a snowbank created with an aquaWhitewash cardstock, which I embossed with my Cheery Lynn Designs Dotted Swiss XL embossing plate, then sanded so the aqua core of the paper shows through.  Again on the first step, I added a Cheery Lynn Designs Victorian Picket Fence, decorated with two Christmas Lights Swags and the bow from the new Ornamental Wreath and Bow die.  I added Viva Decor Glass Effect Gel to the Christmas lights to make them shiny.  The figures on the second step are Lil Christmas Lolita Willow and Lil Lad Christmas Luca from Tickled Pink Stamps.  You can see the embossed dots on the snow banks on this step.

For the 3rd step, I started with a piece of gray Whitewash Cardstock that I embossed with my Big Weaver Plate, sanding it to get the look of siding.  I then added a Screen Door die cut using a blue Whitewash, reversing the bottom panel drop outs and putting them back in.  Then I cut a square to fit the top part of the door.  I added an Ornamental Wreath and Bow adding a few berries with my Viva Decor Pearl pen.  A silver gem for a door knob was the final touch.

Next I added some more snow banks using my Swiss Dots embossed aqua Whitewash cardstock on both sides of the door.  Then I added my Elegant Evergreen die, popping up the layers for dimension.  I added some red gems and a gold star as accents.   All of the sanding on the cardstock was done using the Core'dinations Sand It Gadget.  Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.

Be sure to visit the Core'dinations blog and come back each day through Saturday for more inspiration.

Celebrate with Cheery Lynn Designs

1:29 PM 6 Comments
For those of you who love Cheery Lynn Designs as I do and have the Victorian Picket Fence, you are going to be wild about the new Patriotic Swag designed to fit the fence.  It is 3 individual dies, so you can cut the white, the red and the blue pieces separate but you can run them through your die cut machine at the same time.  No wasted paper and so cute!  Here is my project using the Patriotic Swag....

I decided to make an easel card because I wanted lots of dimension.  I used
blue Coredinations Whitewash paper for the front of my house, adding texture with my Big Weaver plate.  I then sanded the paper to make the "siding lines" appear.  I added a door using my Screen Door die but instead of adding screen, I made it a solid door by adding white Whitewash paper.  The texture on this paper really makes it look like wood.  Using the same white Whitewash paper, I die cut my Victorian Picket Fence.  To make it stand up, I cut the lower half of it out of a piece of heavy acrylic packaging, glued it to the bottom of the fence, then bent it so it would stand up on the card.  It will fold down so the card can be closed and mailed out.  Next came the Patriotic Swag, as you can see, 2 of them fit perfectly across the fence, then another for the door.  I added the Grass Border across the bottom of the fence and used my Oval Little Stackers dies for the computer generated sentiment.  Then I added a flower using the smaller flower from Judy's Blooms and a leaf from the Tropical Leaves set.  The adorable girl is a digi image from Karen's Doodles, she has several patriotic images that would work well with this die.  Finished size is 5.5" square.

New Grass Border from Cheery Lynn Designs

5:07 PM 9 Comments
Remember this card I posted the other day using the new Victorian Picket Fence and Garden Gate from Cheery Lynn Designs?

I love the card but felt it was missing something and that thing was grass!  So I asked BJ at Cheery Lynn Designs if we could get a Grass Border.  And oh my gosh, it is here already and what a beauty.

None of that unrealistic look you get from some of the punches, this is wonderful mix of tall and short and pointing left and right just like grass blades really do.  If you want it thicker, cut two and stack them.   So I die cut a piece and added it to my card and see how it really gives some added dimension.  I did not think this card could get any cuter, but this certainly finishes it off perfectly!  Thank you, BJ for a wonderful die.

More Fun with Cheery Lynn Designs New Releases

3:30 AM 30 Comments
Cheery Lynn Designs has released a fabulous new batch of dies and this week the design team is creating wonderful projects using them.  AND, you can win a $25 shopping spree to Cheery Lynn Designs by commenting on each of the blog posts between May 1st and May 8th.

For this card, I again used the oh so cute Screen Door die (you even get 2 pieces of screen with the die!!)  but I added the new Victorian Picket Fence and Garden Gate dies as well.  I die cut them out of Coredinations Whitewash card stock and sanded them for a very worn wood look.  I used the screen door handle to make the gate hinges and handle.  Then I used Fanciful Flourish and Darling Daisies as embellishments.  This is just the cutest card.  It folds flat and fits a 5 x 7 envelope.

Using some left over pieces of  Victorian Picket Fence and Fanciful Flourish along with Judy's Blooms, I made this great gift tag or I guess it could be a bookmark.  These are great die cut flowers.  They have scores in the petals which make them very easy to shape for more dimension.  I used my Big Wicker to emboss the lines on the background paper.

I was having so much fun with my new dies that I just kept on going, lol.  For this card, I got out my new Pair of Ferns and  Zig Zag Ric Rac border die along with Judy's Blooms and created this card.  The wonderful paper is from the Graphic 45 Le Cirque Collection.  The cute Basset Girl is an adorable digi image from Karen's Doodles.  Finished size is 6" square.

So don't forget to leave a comment on each post between May 1st and May 8th for a chance to win a $25 shopping spree to Cheery Lynn Designs.
