Jack O' Lantern Witch with Laurie Schmidt

3:00 AM 4 Comments

Laurie here from Stamping Up North sharing a spooky Jack O' Lantern witch card today....
just in time for Halloween!

I love this set...the faces are so fun! I added some sparkly green enamel dots for their noses. Then I stacked them up and added a Witch Hat and some arms from the Acorns and Leaves dies to make my witch.

I sponged some distress oxide inks onto watercolor paper for my background, sprinkled on a bit of water, and let it dry. Then I adhered the Aspen Forest die cut, the Jack O' Lantern witch I had made, and some spooky little bats.

The sentiment is cut out from the Happy Halloween Twiggy Wreath set. I layered it 3 times for some added dimension.

Here's a list of the dies I used:

Holiday Door Card Set with Laurie Schmidt

3:00 AM 1 Comments

Laurie here form Stamping Up North sharing a Holiday Door Card Set with you today.

First up is the Christmas door.
I had SO much fun decorating this! I used the Christmas wreath for a swag and added some tiny holly here and there. The curtain, sign and snowflakes are cut from the Merry Christmas Gift Envelope set. I added some festive presents on each side of the door, and used a Celtic rectangle for a door mat. A few pearls and enamel dots and it was done!

I started out with some fun patterned paper with bright colors for my Halloween door, and decorated it with a Jack O Lantern, cat, and ghost. I adhered a spooky web and spider to the window with a few bats flying around.

Next up is the Thanksgiving door.
I used some rich autumn colors, cutting out the leaves, sentiment and bow in shimmer paper. I LOVE the detail on these dies! Once again I made a swag with the wreath die and used some of the screen material included with the door for the window. The brick steps were made with the fireplace die, and I embossed some lines to add some siding in the background.

After celebrating all those holidays it's time for vacation! For this beach house door, I used some more of the screen material that is included with the screen door die. I used a shutter from the window die for a curtain, and decorated the door with a fun anchor. I adhered a beach ball, star fish and sand dollar at the bottom. The door mat is a piece from the gauze border die.

I have really enjoyed making cards with Cherry Lynn's Window, Fireplace and Door dies! They will be so fun to send out for the holidays.

Witch's Laundry by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi Everyone!  I'm so in a Halloween mood these days but here in NY it still feels like Summer.  I'd envisioned a very different card with flowers and embellishments and spiderwebs but then I was sidetracked by some new Halloween paper and my new-for-me Witch's Laundry die.  This is the result.

I used distress ink on the edge of the orange paper and then cut out the center with an oval die from the Oval Classic LG Stackers Set to show off the spiderweb paper.   Silver glitter glue was used on the brim of the hat and the neckline of the dress to add a little magic.  I also cut the stockings out of orange, cut out every other orange stripe and glued them onto the black stockings.  The little extra color added so much interest to a simple card.  The sentiment is from the Witch's Skirt Set.  It's a great size for cards and you may have noticed that I tend to use it a lot.

Holiday Window Card Set with Laurie Schmidt

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi everyone, Laurie here from Stamping Up North!
I've really been into making cards with Cheery Lynn's door, fireplace and window lately. Such awesome dies and PERFECT for making cute holiday cards.

The ones I'm sharing today are the window cards, the first one is for Halloween. I cut out the window in black and added a spooky spider web behind it. On the window sill I set a ghost, pumpkin, and cat. The bats flying around are from the Happy Halloween dies. I cut out 2 green moons for the shutters with the Cat and Moon set too.

Jack O Lantern B594

The second card is a Thanksgiving window card.

I used the Mandy Doily to make a bit of a curtain, and added an enamel dot at the top. I thought Cinderella's Pumpkins looked cute sitting on the ledge, along with a few leaves from the new Acorns and Leaves die set.

I used a couple of dies from the new fall and winter release to make a Christmas window card...the Penguin Pals and the Classic Christmas Tree.
I can't even tell you how many cards I have made with that penguin set...they are adorable. The window is actually a shaker set, but here I backed it with a curtain I made from the center of the Mexican Tile pattern die. I added a Christmas Light Swag and stamped a sentiment in black.

As you can see, I have had lots of fun with the window die. I'll be sharing my fireplace and door cards soon.....

Hi there.  Bonnie with you today from Make Time to Craft and I'm sharing a really fun and spooky Halloween card created with the incredible Ultimate Halloween 5 piece die set from Cheery Lynn Designs.  This set has so many pieces that you will never tire of it.
My orange background, pumpkin die cuts and the dark night sky background were all made using Distress Ink papers that I created.
The die cuts are very straightforward.  I simply cut them in the colors shown using cardstock with Stick It adhesive on the back.  For the pumpkins and tree, I added the colors that you see for the eyes, nose and mouth.  I added the cat in black on the tree as well.
I added some grass using the Grass Border 2 die and placed the tree in front of it and I tucked the pumpkins behind it to create some depth.
The details on the dies add so much character to the pieces.

My card is topped off with a shabby bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 using Black Bold Plaid Check Ribbon from the September Halloween themed Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  You can also see two more ribbons from this assortment running across the center of the card under the main panel.  I topped the bow off with a wiggle eye.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  What is your favorite Halloween die set?

Happy Halloween Jacks by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi friends!  It's Jenny here.  I'm back today with a new Halloween card.  I've ignored the start of the school year (probably because I also have to return to work) and jumped straight to Halloween with my card making.  I love everything about Halloween time and I really enjoy spooky decorations.

This year I'm thinking about making candle jars using tissue paper and jars and Cheery Lynn Halloween die cuts.  Hopefully I'll have some to share with you soon if I can get what's in my head into an actual project.  In the meantime I've been card making.  I thought these Jack-o-Lanterns would be extra spooky done in black and I like the result.  It's difficult to see but the yellow-orange faces are actually quite sparkly.  I just glued paper sprayed with a glittery spray behind the Jacks.

Happy Halloween Card with Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Hi Cheery Lynn lovers!  Bonnie here today from Make Time to Craft sharing a silly/spooky Halloween card I made using some of the newest Halloween dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
I've been making lots of fun background papers using Distress and Distress Oxide inks lately, and the dies sets I've used today are perfect to pair with a somewhat 'busy' background as they still stand out.
There is nothing too complicated with this card.  I just layered the Distress Ink paper on black and green cardstock and adhered it to my card base.  I then cut the dies in single layers in the colors show.  For the eyes I cut a small scrap of cardstock in the color I selected and glued it to the back of the die cuts for the eyes and mouth.  The grass strip was adhered along the bottom only so I could tuck parts of the cats behind the grass for a more realistic look.

Below is a peek inside my card.  I used the Twisted Tree die to decorate the inside while leaving space for a message of your choice.
I finished my card off with a shabby bow created on my Bow-it-All V3.0 using one of the ribbon styles from the September Halloween Themed Ribbon Club Assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Are you busy working on your Autumn or Halloween themed cards yet?

I Started with the French Pastry Doily as my base.  I then added the ribbon eyelet and the curved border set to the edge of my card base.

Happy Halloween by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny here today with another Halloween card.  I just love playing with these new Cheery Lynn Halloween dies!  This card was simple to put together but the glitter paper on some of the die cuts really adds a beautiful glitzy touch.  I started with a 5.5" square card base.  I layered black and patterned card stock on top.  Then I cut the largest square out of Square Frames Set in black.  The inside is lined with a smaller purple square to pick up some of the purple color from the patterned card stock.  I cut the Skeleton's accessories out of other fun papers.  I don't know if it's visable in the photos but his bow and the tombstone are super sparkly!

The one die I changed a bit is the Horizon Fishtail Banner die.  I ran half of it through my die cut machine and then stopped before finishing.  I then moved the die down, being careful to line up the little scallops and then ran the flag side of the banner through to create a smaller than normal banner shape that would fit my card better.  The Happy Halloween sentiment is from the Witch's Skirt die set.

Fall Pumpkin Patch Card with Guest Designer Kathy Clement

3:30 AM 9 Comments
Hello, Friends!  It's Kathy Clement here, and I'm very excited to be the October Guest Designer at Cheery Lynn!  I'm so impressed with the detail and quality of these beautiful dies, and had a wonderful time putting together this Fall Pumpkin Patch Card to share with you here today.

This is a 5x7 Gate Fold Card made with Graphic 45's Time to Flourish paper collection.  The Pumpkin Patch Die looks amazing when die cut with patterned paper.  I topped the pumpkins with a little "frost" (Stickles Frosted Lace) and then nestled them amid some gorgeous mums made with the Chrysanthemum Strip Die.  I love the color contrast!

I love how easily intricate dies, like this Ornament 1 Doily, cut through cardstock like buttah!

Here's a peek at the inside.

I added more pretty pumpkins and flourishes on the inside of the card.
Thanks so much for joining me today.  I'm off to play with more of these fabulous Cheery Lynn dies!

Cheerio,
kathy

Happy Cat-o-ween by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny here today with a Halloween card featuring one of the new Halloween dies from the new Fall and Winter release.  This cat is perfect for Halloween but would be really cute on an all occasion or birthday card too.  It has a little spider dangling from it's tail but it's so simple to snip that off.

I used a die that normally makes  flower centers to create the black flowers.  They are from the Embellishment #1 die and I love how light and airy they are.  The yellow-green flowers are small Tea Roses that have been embellished with green glitter glue and the black centers are from the Embellishment #2 die set.  The white flowers are Dandelions, I added them in for a pop of color and I like the texture.  I used them instead of adding leaves.

I cut the doily once out of black card stock and then the center of the doily out of whit paper.  I cut it out with a Classic Circle die from the L4 set.

Happy Cat-O-Ween with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hi! Today, Im sharing another Halloween card for Cheery Lynn Designs. I can't believe it is already the first day of October! Well, I know I'm ready to open up my home here in AZ.

This adorable "cat" is great to use for any card because you can just cut off the spider and use him for a birthday card too. I love the sentiment and I used some diamond glaze to give a bit more shine.

The "hinges" are into use and basically you can use them for so many different projects.  I added more diamond glaze to the cat eyes and the spider. Pop dots are behind the cat but otherwise a pretty flat card for mailing.

Hope you enjoyed!

Spooky Dresser With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 0 Comments

BOO!
Today, Im sharing with you a super fast card for this Halloween season!
I have seen some similar card on line and this card was made using all Cheery Lynn Designs
 die cuts.

I first card the base of the card which is 5 x 6 inches. Then I diet the 4th smallest "rectangle" twice and cut them in half. You should have 4 pieces, I used 3 of them. Next chalk the edges in white. Add a white dot or button for the drawer handles.

The "ghosts" are part of the "ultimate Halloween' die cut set. Lots of goodies in that pack! I diet the ghosts 3 times and place a piece of black cardstock behind the eyes with a pop dot. The "boo" sentiment was die cut in paper wand then I die cut it again in foam to pop it up with some red tickles for the blood drippings....EW!

Boo! by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi friends, it's Jenny here today!  Today I'm sharing another Halloween card.  I just can't get enough of these new Halloween dies.  I began this card by cutting the centers out of black and patterned papers as well as the main 5.5" card front.  I glued a piece of orange paper to the inside front of the card.  I was originally planning on suspending the spiders between the layers for a 3D effect with an open front but my planned changed when I decided to use a greater variety of these fun spiders.

The spiderweb is from the Spider Net set, the three spiders are from the Whimsical Spiders set, and the Boo is from the Ultimate Halloween set.  I double layered Boo! to add a little more orange and it offsets the other spiderweb on the left nicely.

Happy Halloween with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi everyone! Welcome back! Today Im sharing with you a new card for Cheery Lynn Designs using a new "halloween ghost" die cut. There are actually 2 other ghosts but I kept mine all the same. You can see in the background the "twiggy wreath" and "sentiment" which is perfect for Halloween cards.

The adorable flowers are "sweet christine" and I added a black center. I love the leaves from "flourish #13" and decided to make them black to match the theme.

Have to mention loving this line of patterned papers from Graphic 45 too.  The bling was to represent the wind from the ghosts.
