Jack O' Lantern Witch with Laurie Schmidt

3:00 AM 4 Comments

Laurie here from Stamping Up North sharing a spooky Jack O' Lantern witch card today....
just in time for Halloween!

I love this set...the faces are so fun! I added some sparkly green enamel dots for their noses. Then I stacked them up and added a Witch Hat and some arms from the Acorns and Leaves dies to make my witch.

I sponged some distress oxide inks onto watercolor paper for my background, sprinkled on a bit of water, and let it dry. Then I adhered the Aspen Forest die cut, the Jack O' Lantern witch I had made, and some spooky little bats.

The sentiment is cut out from the Happy Halloween Twiggy Wreath set. I layered it 3 times for some added dimension.

Here's a list of the dies I used:

Spooky Halloween with Laurie Schmidt

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi everyone!

Laurie here from Stamping Up North with a spooky Halloween card to share with you today. Halloween is just around the corner and I finally bought my pumpkins and mums to decorate my front steps. On my door I also hung a Jack O' Lantern which my little neighbor girl loves...she looks at it and says,"spooky face, spooky face!" I think she would like this card, as this Jack O' Lantern has a spooky face too!

I started out with some fun Halloween paper for my background, and pulled from the colors to cut out my images. I cut the sentiment out from Happy Halloween and layered it in black and purple. Then I adhered it onto a green pierced circle.

I just LOVE the Jack O'Lantern set, it comes with 3 different sized pumpkins, here I used the largest one. I added two of the tiny white ghosts form the Happy Haunts set...I think they look pretty spooky too!

Here's a list of dies I used:

Happy Halloween B829

Happy Haunts B905

Jack O' Lanterns B594

Circle Pierce and Cut Tool LPC4

I hope you have a spooky Halloween!

Holiday Window Card Set with Laurie Schmidt

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi everyone, Laurie here from Stamping Up North!
I've really been into making cards with Cheery Lynn's door, fireplace and window lately. Such awesome dies and PERFECT for making cute holiday cards.

The ones I'm sharing today are the window cards, the first one is for Halloween. I cut out the window in black and added a spooky spider web behind it. On the window sill I set a ghost, pumpkin, and cat. The bats flying around are from the Happy Halloween dies. I cut out 2 green moons for the shutters with the Cat and Moon set too.

Jack O Lantern B594

The second card is a Thanksgiving window card.

I used the Mandy Doily to make a bit of a curtain, and added an enamel dot at the top. I thought Cinderella's Pumpkins looked cute sitting on the ledge, along with a few leaves from the new Acorns and Leaves die set.

I used a couple of dies from the new fall and winter release to make a Christmas window card...the Penguin Pals and the Classic Christmas Tree.
I can't even tell you how many cards I have made with that penguin set...they are adorable. The window is actually a shaker set, but here I backed it with a curtain I made from the center of the Mexican Tile pattern die. I added a Christmas Light Swag and stamped a sentiment in black.

As you can see, I have had lots of fun with the window die. I'll be sharing my fireplace and door cards soon.....

Thanks for stopping by!

Halloween Layout by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 1 Comments

A warm hello to you . It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out hosting the blog today. Last time I posted  I said that I would share a Halloween layout this time.  Halloween is always a nice time to do fun layouts and this one was definitely fun with all these new Halloween dies that Cheery Lynn Designs release this year.

This is a 8"x8" page layout. We always play with non traditional colors for some of our Christmas cards and layout so I thought why not non traditional colors for Halloween as well. I really like the way it turned out.

The Happy Halloween  sentiment I did in two layers to give it a shadowed look. I like that the sentiment is all one piece.

This Ultimate Halloween  set has a great variety of dies in it including the  nicely detailed tree as well as the Boo, pumpkin, ghost and even a bat. I have used them all on this page layout except for the bat. I think this tree would make anyone smile.

Now for the Skeleton. This skeleton has got to be one of my all time favorite Halloween dies. Besides what I have used here he also comes with a cowboy styled hat and a  bigger head . There are two different sized bones that you can see in the full sized photo of the layout above. I thought it would be cute to have him holding a pumpkin.

Here is a close up of the ghost with googly eyes and the sentiment BOO. . If you noticed in the full layout photo above I also gave the tree googly eyes. The eyes just really add character to the tree and ghost. In the layout I have used the Pierced Stacker  to place a photo on. Well that is it for this time. I do hope I have inspired you and that you make time to have some halloween fun and play with some of these new dies.

Happy Halloween by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 1 Comments

A warm hello to you.  It's  Debbie back with you from Debbie's Time Out. I am into Halloween  for the next two weeks so be sure to check back next week to take a peek at the Halloween layout I created. It's pretty cool. I thought I would get an early start to inspire you and give you time to get some Halloween projects created for  yourself.

The dies I have featured on this card were released not long ago. Next week I will used more Halloween dies from that release. It is always nice to get new Halloween dies released each year.

For this card I have used the Halloween Candy Card Maker Frame . It is a really cool frame with pumpkin suckers and assorted candies. I double layered the pumpkin suckers for added dimension. The coloring was done using Copic markers. I wanted to create a fun and bright card for the little ones.

Here is a close up of the frame.

The Happy Halloween is part of the die set Happy Halloween. The cat is from the Witch's Brew set. I thought the Happy Halloween would look good in alternate colors and I like how it turned out. Don't forget to check out all the other awesome new Halloween dies that were released not long ago. There is quite a variety to choose from.

I invite you to come join our bi-weekly challenge  for your chance to win $20.00 in dies. You can enter @ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge. You could also be one of our top three picks.

Thanks so much for joining me today. I always have a lot of fun with Halloween projects and hope that you can find some time to relax and play too. Have a wonderful day.
