Valentine Hugs

3:00 AM 1 Comments

Hi everyone!  It's Holly, your February guest designer, posting today.  Happy Valentine's Day!  I needed a masculine Valentine's card to give to my sweetie, so I pulled out my Cheery Lynn Designs dies to see what I could come up with.  Obviously, since I wanted it to be more masculine, I didn't add a lot of frills and flowers.  I kept this card sweet and simple by using these dies:

Celtic Heart
Sophia's Heart Border
Alison's Ribbons
Hugs Mix and Match
Coved Rectangle - Classic LG Stackers

I inlaid the die cut pieces of the inside of the heart.  Because the background is so busy, I wanted the Hugs to stand out.  Look at the Hugs sentiment.  Can you see the shadowing there?  I cut it out twice - once from dark brown paper and once from vanilla paper.  I glued the vanilla Hugs on top of the dark brown Hugs, slightly offsetting the letters.  That's how you get a subtle shadow effect.  For the corners, I cut the pieces from the Sophia's Heart Border - they fit beautifully in the corners of the Coved Rectangles.

Thanks for visiting me here at the Cheery Lynn Designs blog.  Come on back next Friday - I can't wait to show you what I created!!  I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Christmas Step Card

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Sandy here with you today and I have created a cute Christmas Step Card.  I love how quick you can make one of these with the use of Cheery Lynn Designs Step Card die.  I mean, it not only cuts and scores the card base, you can also cut out the perfect panels for both inside and out!  To embellish my card, I used my Alison's Ribbons set, so many combinations to make perfectly matching paper ribbon.  Behind my image I added a Rum Punch Doily.  Using my Circle Stackers, I cut the center out of the doily, added some texture with my Circle Stitcher Plate and then put the circle back into the doily.  I used dimensionals to raise the image above the doily.

Finished size is 5 5/8" square, perfect for a 6" square envelope.  You can see the lovely DP panel I die cut for the inside of my card.

Hi and Good Morning everyone :)  Alison here again today with this weeks card showcasing some of Cheery Lynn  Designs most fabulous and elegant Christmas Dies!

I started off with a 6 x 6 scalloped blank card base and layered deep red DCWV cardstock and Bo Bunny paper, and then had a blast cutting the gorgeous festive designs.

I added the Holly corner, Merry christmas sentiment, and then combined Alisons Ribbons and the star strip from the Expandable Tiny Borders

I used the poinsetta flower strip for 3 quick and easy christmas flowers, and these are held together with pearl brads.  I then added some deep red berry pearls and some ice white pearls for a finishing frosty touch.

Hi and Good Morning :)  Alison here again today, sharing this weeks card inspired some more gorgeous and easy to use Cheery Lynn Designs Dies.

Now wasnt this picture was taken in the last of the summer rays today ? lol  :)

I started off using a blank 6 x 6 card base, and layered white american crafts cardstock with some scraps of lilac paper.  This cardstock  was used for all the die cuts, and it cuts like a dream.

I then created my background using the elegant  Daisy Lace Frame, and edged it with the Lady Kate Edger.  I then stuck down 2 strips from Alisons Ribbons to conceal the join.  I coloured my image with PM's and glittered the wings, and matted onto oval stackers and scalloped oval stackers.

I made the lovely sweet flowers using the  Daisy Strip die (my favourite flower die ever!) and secured with pearl and glitter brads.  The pretty dragonfly and olive branch leaves were added as a finishing touch, along with some white pearls.

All dies used on this card are:

FRM118 - Daisy Lace Frame

Birthday Gift

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi and Good Morning everyone, Alison here again today! :)  Well in my part of the world, the summer has ended, and autumn fast approaches with a change in colours as well as the weather.  So todays card is a little more subtle in its hues, and uses some lovely Cheery Lynn Designs Dies.

I started off with a 6 x 6 inch blank card base and layered MME papers and white american crafts cardstock.  All dies were cut with this card too.

I cut the Tiny Bubbles border and stuck on the apricot top layer panel and also used the gorgeous Cape Cod Doily behind my image.  This is so delicate and beautiful, but cuts like a dream!  My image is matted and layered onto Square Stackers, Scalloped squares and the delighful  Horizon Square Stacker

I used Alisons Ribbons along the bubble border, and added a small strip of ric-rac ribbon on top.  The flower was made from the quick and easy Shasta Daisy strip, held together with a pearl brad, and for a finishing touch I added a dragonfly and some pearls.

All dies used on this card are

Guest spot with Sandy Hulshart

5:08 AM 3 Comments

Today we are thrilled to have Sandy Hulshart guest designing with us.  Let jump right in and see what she has come up with for us.

I started with this great stamp, Adirondack Chair, stamping it onto Cryogen Metallic card stock and coloring with my Copics.  I found a piece of denim that I use for patches so I trimmed it down and then machine sewed both it and my background paper to my card stock.  Now that wasn't so hard, lol!  I frayed the top and bottom edges of the denim just a bit.  Next I added a few Cheery Lynn Designs dies: Gauze Border, Fanciful Flourish and flowers created with Embellishments #3.  For the final touches, I air brushed some gems to match and then added Stickles to the centers of the flowers.  Finished size is 5 3/8" square.

The heart embellishment was created using 2 layers of the different sized Two of Hearts, and I cut a contrasting piece of paper for the centre heart too.  I added a super-cute bumble bee and also my signature butterfly (Oh.. I use this butterfly on everything!).

The pretty flowers were made from the quick and easy Sweet Williams Strip secured with a pearl brad, and I added some leaves, pearls and a pin for a finishing touch.

Time to Make the Christmas Cards

3:30 AM 12 Comments

It's already that time of year when you start Christmas cards and we've got some adorable new Christmas dies that will make your cards beautiful and easy.

The new Poinsettia strip makes these flowers so quickly.  I've just added ink for some coloring had popped them out in no time.  I did use the cutie from the Blacked Eyed Susan Strip for the centers and colored them yellow.

Not sure if you can see it or not, but the oval cut out makes a shadow box effect with the use of foam tape.  I do so love me some foam tape, LOL.

Here's my listing of all the dies to add to your collection:

Just can't get enough

3:30 AM 10 Comments

I can't stop using the new black eyed susan die...I love it.  I'm not sure if I'm more in love with the flowers or that darn cutie that comes with it and makes every flower, well....perfect.  I really love the way each die on this card pops all on its own.  The small French lattice is stunning, but so is the flower cluster and then it's all pulled together with the Alison's ribbon.

Here is a complete list of all the dies used with a link so you can stock up and start creating yourself.

See you next week,
Lori
