Follow Your Heart

3:30 AM 7 Comments

Hi and Good Morning everyone.  Alison here today, and I hope you all had a great start to the New Year!

Todays card uses some stunningly detailed Cheery Lynn Designs dies, and everything was cut from 300gsm glitter card, so how amazing is the crispness and clarity of these cuts!

I started off with a 6 x 6 blank card base and layered pink pearlescent glitter card and K&Co stripey paper.  I then cut the gorgeous Shoji Mesh Border, and edged it with the cutie heart fringe die, cut in two separate colours.  I then cut two Lattice Heart and Vines and backed them onto shimmering satin paper (they look cushioned in real life), and so very intricate.  I added the hummingbird and feathered his wing, and also cut 3 smaller birds for decoration.  The sentiment was backed onto the smallest Oval S tacker Frame and finally I added some pearls for a finishing touch.

All dies used on this card are:

B371 - Shoji Mesh Border
B368 - Lattice Heart & Vines
DL252 - Horizon Oval Doily Stacker
B391 - Small Heart Cutie Fringe
B193 - Hummingbird
B266 - Tiny Things with Wings

Thanks so much for visiting our blog today, and I hope you all have a smashing week!,

..... and a Happy New Year

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi and Good Morning everyone, Alison here today! :)  I hope you all had a wonderful christmas, and have many memories to treasure.

My card today is inspired by New Year, and I used some of the gorgeous Steampunk Dies by Cheery Lynn Designs, and I think they look very classy and effective in gold card!  My husband actually wanted to turn this card into a clock for the wall :)

I started off with a 6 x 6 inch blank card base and layered black bazzil card and gold mirri card.  I cut some stunning gears and layered them behind French Flair stackers and scalloped stackers, and then cut out the Steampunk Clock.  The gold card shows the intricacy and clarity that this die cuts, its just super-sharp and the tiny bits just fell out.  The clock was layered onto more black card, and raised by foam pads.  I added gold studs for a jewelled clock effect.

All dies used on this card are:

Thanks so much for visiting our blog today, and I would like to wish you and your families all the very best for a happy and prosperous New Year.

Have a smashing week,

Last Minute Christmas Cheer

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi and good morning everyone :)  Alison here today, sharing a quick and easy card inspired by some beautiful and elegant Cheery Lynn Designs dies.

I have been missing from blog action recently, as I have had a couple of broken fingers, and so this card was made almost with one hand! lol :) Its a good  example of how these great dies can do all the work, and you can still create a stunning and effective card even if you dont have a lot of time.

I layered Forever Friends papers onto bazzil card, and also used a pre-made Forever Friends decoupage for the centre.  I cut  the ever-so pretty Daphne Doily die, and stuck 3 delicate Snowflowers and the Holly Flourish die with pearls for a finishing touch.

As you can see, pretty simple, but very cute!

All dies used on this card are:

DL264 - Daphne Doily Die
DL226 - Snowflowers Set 2
B184 - Holly Corner

Thanks so much for visiting our blog today, and I hope you find time to enter our challenge this week where our theme is Sparkle and Shine.

Have a smashing week!

Hearts & Gears

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi and Good Morning everyone, Alison here today sharing this weeks card inspired by Cheery Lynn Designs stunning Steampunk Dies!

This card is a glorious 8 x 8 inches, so a brilliant size to showcase the intricacy an detail of these dies, instead of much of them being concealed by a main image as a focal point.

Now, I had such fun making this card!  It was great to dig out some much neglected silver mirri board to create a dazzling metallic effect to this design.   I layered HOTP paper and bazzil card, applying DI inks to the edges.

I created the breathtaking Gear Mesh border by matting silver card onto grey card and adding additional gears, silver stud pearls and brads.  I cut the beautiful new Daphne Doily in grey card, and used silver card to cut the Hearts n Gears to create a background for my image.  I  then matted the Kenny K digital stamp onto Silver Square Stackers and Scalloped Square stackers and added the pretty Lock and Keys and Love sentiment for a finishing touch.

All dies used on this card are:

B361 - Gear Mesh Border
B378 - Hearts n Gears
B340 - Gears
B350 - Lock and keys
DL264 - Daphne Doily
B227 - Love sentiment
L-1 - Square Classic
XL-2 - Square Scalloped Stackers

Thanks so much for visiting our blog today, and I hope you find time to join in this weeks challenge where our theme is vintage.

Hi and Good Morning everyone! :) Wow what a fabulous week of inspiration we have had so far showcasing all the gorgeous new Cheery Lynn Designs new releases for October!

I started off with a 6 x 6 inch blank card base, and layered DCWV red bazzil cardstock and Bo Bunny paper.  I then used the gorgeous new snowflake mesh border die, cut it in bright white and matted onto sanded red card.  I edged this with the new Siena double edged border and added a few tiny flowers and pearls to the centres of the snowflakes.

The main Merry Christmas sentiment is backed onto red sanded card too, and also matted on the the stunning Lilith Doily.  Again I backed this with red card cut from the matching angel wing.

For a finishing touch, I made a poinsetta flower, and secured with a glitter brad, and added a few more tiny flowers, pearls and ice glitter.

All dies used on this card are:

B366 - Merry Christmas Holly Sentiment
DL263 - Lilith Doily with Angel Wing
B372 - Snowflake mesh border

The Most Beautiful Border Die. Ever!

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi and Good Morning everyone, Alison here again today, sharing another card created and inspired by so many gorgeous Cheery Lynn Designs dies. :)

I used an 8 x 8 inch blank card base for this card, and layered K&Co papers and white American Crafts cardstock, and a stamped image from Lili of the Valley.

I created the bottom border using in my opinion, the Most Beautiful Border Die. Ever! - Fall Leaf Mesh Border, its just stunning.  I layered it to shadow against green cardstock, and also added an additional layer of leaves in green for contrast.  The top paper panel is edged in the Anastasia Lace border, and and the base doily is the Sunflower Doily.  My image is matted onto the matching Fall Leaf Doily, and backed with green card cut from the angel wing included.

I created the flowers using the Black Eyed Susan flower strip and the smaller petals are from the Daisy Flower strip.  I sanded this coral coloured card to soften and add shading.  Finally I added some pearls for a little bit of bling.

All dies used on this card are:

B325 - Fall Leaf Mesh Border
DL249 - Fall Leaf Doily
B338 - Black Eyed Susan Flower Strip

Hi and Good Morning everyone, Alison here again today, sharing a Christmas card created using more of the gorgeous new release dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.

I used a 7 x 5 blank card base for this, and I cut a strip vertically from the front panel, so it shows the underneath of the card.  I used some of my favourite frosty printed card on the front and inside, and then attached the beautiful Tiffany Border for a lacey edge.

I coloured my image with PM's, and matted and layered onto Oval Stackers and Scalloped oval stackers and cut the Italian Flourish doily (which looks like a beautiful snowflake to me) in half to frame the oval with a delicate background.

The bottom of the card is decorated with the stunning Winter Neighbourhood Border and the top of the card shows the fabulous Santa's Sleigh & Reindeer.  The white poinsetta flowers were inked delicately with blue and dipped into frosty glitter, and I added snow paste, glitter and pearls for a finishing touch.

Step Card

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Hi and Good Morning everyone, Alison here today sharing a Step card created using the awesome template die by Cheery Lynn Designs.   Its absolutely brilliant!

I started  off with some 320gsm A4 white cardstock, and cut the main die shape.  I folded along the embossed lines and 'TaDa'.. it was magically transformed into a blank Step Card!

All the layering dies for decorating are included in the set, and so this is where the fun really begins.

I took 3 sheets of matching K&Co paper, and cut the back, front and side panels along with the bottom border.  I then layered these die cuts onto contrasting paper and card, creating a matt and layered effect.

I trimmed the bottom front border with the elegant Sophias Heart border, butterfly and pearls.  The side panels were decorated with the Ankara Lace Border.

I coloured a Crafts & Me digi image and matted onto coved rectangle and scalloped rectangle mats, and then placed onto the Horizon Coved Rectangle.

I stuck the gorgeous Cape Cod Doily onto the front panel and layered my image on top.

For a finishing touch I made 2 flowers from the gorgeous gardenia strip and added some beautiful Olive branches and leaves.

All dies used on this card are:

B348 - Step Card #1
DL250 - Cape Cod Doily
B339 - Gardenia  Strip

Matchbox Giftbox

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Hi and Good Morning, Alison here today :)  I hope everyone is having a great week so far!

This week I wanted to show you how quick and easy it is to make a gorgeous wee gift box out of the Cheery Lynn Designs matchbox dies.

I used the largest Matchbox Die set for this gift box, and cut out 2 pieces in matching double sided 12 x 12 patterned paper.  I assembled the box quick and easily, as all the folds are embossed and it just all falls into place so well! :)

I then decorated the sides of the box with  Sophias Heart border, and the Forever sentiment.

The top of the box is decorated with the matching Sophias Heart Mini Doily, and I made the flower from one of the new release floral strips Gardenia.  I held this together with a pearl brad and added some olive green leaves cut from the Rose Leaf Strip.

This was such a lovely gift box to make, and so easy too, I can see lots of uses for this die and all the other sizes to make a set!

All dies used are:

Hi and Good Morning Everyone :)  Alison here again today.

My card for this week is a WoW creation, showcasing the elegance and intricacy of Cheery Lynn Dies to their best!.

This card has a very simple, but effective layout, and works well with an combination of borders and frames.

I started off with a 6 x 6 inch blank card base, and all dies and layers were cut from American Crafts white textured cardstock.

The centre panel is the stunning Daisy Lace Frame die, and I tucked behind it 2 layered lace borders, Border Carnivale and City Girl Edger.  To hide the join I used one of my favourite expandable dies as I really think this finishes it off.

I made the centre flower from the Daisy Strip die, and added 3 gorgeous butterflies and some card candi to finish.

All dies used on this card are:

FRM 118 - Daisy Lace Frame
DL129 - Border Carnivale
B308 - City Girl Edger
B215 - Expandable Dies

I coloured my digi image (Crafts & Me) in then matted onto a scalloped rectangle.  I cut the Dream Big words and layered onto both the image and tag.

Pretty simple card, but I think the dies all tie in together so well!
