Flower Card by Julie Lavalette

Hello everyone, it's JULIE here today hosting the blog. Our current challenge is Handmade Flowers and I couldn't resist joining in the fun using our wonderful new Sunflower set.

I started by die cutting out my Cardmaker die and trimmed to be the perfect size to Matt and layer onto my Kraft Cardstock and card which measures around 6 inches square.

I made my sunflower in the same way to this card HERE, but this time I just added the leaves onto it. I love the size of this flower as a main focal image on a card.

I would love to see a Hummingbird in real life, they look to be such beautiful little birds. I die cut mine out twice and shaded with inks after looking at some photos on Google. I then heat embossed with Clear Embossing powder and went around the edges with a little Gilding Wax, layering up both layers and finishing off with a drop of Black Liquid Pearls onto the eye.

My sentiment was stamped onto my banner and I fussy cut a shadow background to make it pop.

Hi Everyone, It's Julie here today and I have made a card using the beautiful Hummingbird die. Let me show you my layers on this card as I build it up.

In this photo you will see I have paper pieced in pale pink corners.

The corners were made using the Horizon Rectangle die that is in the centre of this photo.

My doily was cut in half and pieced behind my Sentiment Tag. This gave me an oval shape to it.

My Hummingbird was shaded with Distress ink and layered up twice for added dimension.

Finishing off my card with some Cheery Lynn flowers and the word Kisses.

Layered Doily Dies with Rhonda

Happy Thursday crafty friends! It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you. My project today is a square card.

"Hello" (5x5 card)

I love the pretty layers of our doily dies and how they add such a delicate touch to your project. Here I'm showcasing a few of our newer dies, the Royal Scandinavian Doily and the Florence Filigree Doily. The steps that I used to create this card are:

To start I used a 5x5 card base in white card stock.
Next I added the square scalloped layer.
This was followed by the Royal Scandinavian Doily in light pink card stock.
Then I added the Florence Filigree Doily with foam adhesive for dimension.
I cut a layer using the Horizon Circle Boutique Stacker medium die.
The Bird Cage was added on top.

Cut the Daisy Strip, misted lightly with water, shaped and formed the layers and adhered.
Add the Princess Tree and arrange under the Daisy.
Hummingbird was cut next, then cut the wing a second time and attach to behind the bird. Ink edges and attach with foam adhesive for dimension.
Final step is to cut the smallest Horizon Fishtail Banner and trim to fit. Add sentiment by stamping or using a rub-on. Shape and attach by tucking under the Daisy.
Finishing touches were to add a pearl for an eye on the Hummingbird and gems in the corners of the Royal Scandinavian Doily.

Follow Your Heart

Hi and Good Morning everyone. Alison here today, and I hope you all had a great start to the New Year!

Todays card uses some stunningly detailed Cheery Lynn Designs dies, and everything was cut from 300gsm glitter card, so how amazing is the crispness and clarity of these cuts!

I started off with a 6 x 6 blank card base and layered pink pearlescent glitter card and K&Co stripey paper. I then cut the gorgeous Shoji Mesh Border, and edged it with the cutie heart fringe die, cut in two separate colours. I then cut two Lattice Heart and Vines and backed them onto shimmering satin paper (they look cushioned in real life), and so very intricate. I added the hummingbird and feathered his wing, and also cut 3 smaller birds for decoration. The sentiment was backed onto the smallest Oval S tacker Frame and finally I added some pearls for a finishing touch.

Bold but Beautiful

Good Morning, it's that time of the week that I get to share my latest Cheery Lynn Designs creation with you. Today I have a bold card in color but it is still delicate with the flowers and the hummingbird.

For the backing on the lace hummingbird I just mounted the die on some black card stock and then cut out leaving a bit of an edge.

Vintage Inspiration

Hi and Good Morning everyone - Alison here today :) We have a fab challenge theme of Vintage this week and already some really gorgeous entries so far. Cheery Lynn have some beautiful and very elegant dies which are perfect for a vintage creation, and I really enjoyed making this style of card.

I started off with an 8 x 8 inch blank card base, so this is quite big. I layered HOTP papers onto Kraft card and pale cream bazzill card, and the same cardstock was used for cutting all the dies.

I used the wonderful Sophia's Heart doily die for the background and the border lace is the stunning Anastasia Border. I added the Fanciful Flourish die to the side panel and then matted my vintage photograph using Oval scalloped and stacker dies. I tucked just one from the set of 3 Lace Deco Corners around the edges of the picture and added some pearls.

The bottom right hand corner uses Victorian Romance Flourish. This was the first Cheery Lynn die I ever bought and still remains one of my favourites. I made some baby's breath flower stems (these were soooo easy!), and the larger white flowers were again nicked out of my pot pourri bowl! :D lol.

Anything Goes & our Weekly Spotlight Top 3

Hi and Good Morning - Alison here today :)

Wow!! We had some gorgeous entries to our Doilies challenge last week and so many to choose from it was really hard to pick just a Top 3. So the DT finally settled on a Top 4 and in order of entry we loved seeing:

Now for my card this week I wanted to have a really good play with some more of the New Release dies. There is such a variety of styles and themes, but they all work so well together too!

I used a 6 x 6 inch scalloped card base and stitched Prima papers to white American Crafts cardstock. I used this cardstock for all the dies cut on this project and it cuts beautifully :)

I cut the gorgeous Bird Cage, and the Cherry Blossom flowers, twigs and Babys Breath from the Build a Flower Embellishment #2 set and arranged them in the top right corner. The Lace Hummingbird Flourish was layered onto stacker circles, and then also embellished with Mini Butterflies and cherry blossom.

The border was created using another of my favourite Celtic Band borders and decorated with more cherry blossom flowers. I finally added pearls and glamour dust/snow glitter with a glue pen to give shimmery highlights.

This was quite a quick card for me and the dies take all the credit for making it look so delicate and pretty :).
