Fall Thank You by Jenny Alia

Good Morning! It's Jenny posting today with a fall card. I was planning on using a lace die for this week's challenge but this Mesh Border die just called to me instead. It reminded me of a fall table runner my sister had on her table recently.

I used an A2 dark red card base and then glued a piece of white card stock on top. I used the Mesh Border die that I cut with kraft paper and glued it down. The I added leaves cut with the Dimensional Small Leaves #2 die. The shading and color blending was all done with a cosmetic sponge and distress ink. I arranged the leaves and tacked them down to the card with double sided adhesive tape.

I then cut the Thank You #2 three times and glued the layers together. The dark red paper is heavy weight and three layers together make the die cut look like chipboard.

Hi there Cheery Lynn friends! It's Karen here sharing my shaped

Thanksgiving card with you today!

First, I started by using the L12 French Flair Classic Silver Stacker

as the frame for the card.

Then, I took the B254 Mesh Border, and ran it through

the die cut machine (only 1 time). By doing this, it retained the little tiny pieces

that typically fall out when you die cut. After, I cut the border, I placed the same French Flair Stacker right on top of it to create this border that would lie right on top

of the designer paper card frame piece!

Next, I layered B599 Tom the Turkey, XL21 Pierced Stacker #3,

and the L4 Classic Circle Silver Stacker dies.

Using the CARA26 God Bless sentiment,

I die cut and then placed it onto the turkey!

Lastly, I made three flowers using the B307 Sweet William Strip and

B241 Rose Leaf Strip. Then, I added some shiny brads

for the center of the flowers!

Penguin Snowflake Tag

The challenge this week is to create a Tag. I love making tags, they can have lots of elements and yet still be fairly quick to make. My tag today is all about snow! I began with a blue tag base, 3.25 x 6.25 inches. I cut the top corners off at an angle. Next came a white layer, 3 x 6 inches embossed with my Snowflake Flurries Embossing plate. I die cut my Snowflake Mesh border from white card stock. I used spray adhesive to adhere it to blue card stock then layered it on the bottom edge of the tag. I added this adorable penguin, Willie from Scrappers Delights, popping him up for some dimension.

Next came my snowflakes, what fun I had mixing and matching them until I found a combination I liked. Cheery Lynn has fabulous snowflakes. To create mine, I started with Laced Pine Snowflake in blue on the bottom, Snowflake #2 in white in the middle, then Snowflake #4 on top in blue. The little white star in the center of the top snowflake is the drop out from the center of the Laced Pine Snowflake. I used pop dots between the layers for more dimension. Lastly I used my Add a Flourish die set, I thought these mimic'd the embossing pretty well.

I Spy a Birthday!

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a few more dies from the recent release. The I Spy binoculars are great! They are perfect for layouts involving sightseeing and hunting/target shooting themes. For a cheeky birthday card, they are great for spying a milestone birthday--"Lordy, lordy look who's 40!" I just couldn't resist. The binoculars are detailed with some pan pastel and glossy accents to bring out the features of the die cut. The Mirror Mirror Doily Frame is perfect to create a mirror to look into for this card. To further accent the theme of time, I added the Gear Mesh to imply clock gears...as time passes.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a Halloween greeting! I used the Happly Halloween Twiggy Wreath from the latest release and paired it with some of my favorite Cheery Lynn Halloween dies--the spiderweb mesh border, the spiderweb, the Going Batty die and of course the fall pumpkins. This is my favorite time of year to craft!
For this card I added the spiderweb behind the twiggy wreath and gave it a dusting of fine glitter so that it would look like a glistening web. Behind the mesh border I added some real burlap and layered the pumpkins with the sentiment and some fun bats! I completed the card with jewels adhered to the "eyes" on the card.

Sing a Song of Spring!

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here to bring you into the Spring spirit! Here in Texas we just went through Daylight Savings change where we "spring" forward our clocks. We are a few days away from the seasonal change to spring and a few weeks away from the Easter holiday as well. This card will help you celebrate all things spring!
I cut the musical staff mesh border and trimmed it to the size that would fit the large Sentiment Tag 1 die. The remaining piece of diecut was then cut in half again to line up the straight lines of the music staffs. Spray adhesive made adhering the mesh to the background easy. The frame was layered with eggs and flowers to inspire the feelings of spring! I hope you enjoy my card!

Dreaming of Spring with Rhonda

Happy Monday to you! Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

My project today is inspired by my dreamy thoughts of Spring. It's been a very cold and difficult winter where I live and all I can think about is how nice it will be to see pretty flowers and birds flying around again in the Spring. So, I decided to go with a dreamy springtime card today.

"Springtime Dreaming"

Isn't the new Classic Birdhouse so sweet? I love the details and wanted to feature it!

I've had some questions about what kind of adhesive that is used on my projects for the dies. I thought it might be helpful today to do a step by step of how I created this card and share which kind of adhesives I used along the way.

I always use my Tape Runner/ATG for layers, Glossy Accents, Glue Dots in various sizes, and Foam Dimensionals (you can get squares, dots, circles, etc.) in various depths.

To begin, I folded my paper and cut the base of this card using the 5th Scalloped Rectangle Die.
The folded card size is 4.5" x 5.5"
Next, I cut my Fiona's Magic Mirror layer, and scored it to fold and wrap to the back. I attached this layer with my tape runner leaving some open space on the top to tuck and layer other elements.
Cut the Concentric Circle Mesh, trimmed it, touched a bit of Glossy Accents on the bottom edges and tucked it behind my Fiona's Magic Mirror layer.
Cut the birdhouse, inked edges of cut pieces and attached pieces with Glossy Accents.

Adhered some glassine bag paper behind the bird hole to soften the look with Glue Dots.
Cut one Concentric Circle Mesh and attached on top of Bird House opening using a very little bit of Glossy Accents. (You can use a Q-Tip or your fingertip to do this.)

Cut 2 Princess Trees from 2 paper designs, cut the branches.
Add Foam Dimensional to back center section of Classic Birdhouse. This is important so you can tuck and layer other elements as you go.
Tack on the Princess Trees to the Foam Dimensionals until you are happy with the arrangement.
Cut 1 Sentiment Frame 1, cut it in half and adhere under your birdhouse on both sides.
Attach Classic Birdhouse to card, aligning bottom with bottom of the Fiona's Magic Mirror.
Do not glue down Princess Tree Branches, leave them so you can still move and layer them.
Cut 1 set of Quills, tuck them under the birdhouse at angles using Glossy Accents or Glue Dots.
Tie wax string around base of Classic Birdhouse and make a bow. Curl tails with dowel.
Cut one Dancing Doily Lace Border segment and wipe a bit of Glossy Accents on back to attach. Add pearls if desired.
Cut Mini Fanciful Flourish Right, layer under the birdhouse (may need to trim a bit of the tail), tacking down the leaves with Glue Dots or touches of Glossy Accents.
Cut Cherry Blossoms (3 large and 2 small), shape and attach with a brad in the center.
Cut 2 sets of Medium Roses, shape and stagger your layers using a brad . I touch my centers with a bit of Glossy Accents to make them appear more budded.
Cut smallest 2 Rose Leaf Strip Leaves 2 times, ink the edges and cut tail off. Layer and attach under the Roses using Glue Dots.
Cut 2 Olive Branches and attach on either side of your Cheery Blossom.
Adhere flowers to card using Glue Dots
Cut Bird from Birds of Earth and Sky, ink and attach with Foam Dimensional. Add a pin dot of Pearl Pen for the eye. (Or a mini gem.)
Tack down any Princess Tree leaves if desired with a tiny amount of Glossy Accents.
Cut Tiny Fanciful Flourish, use a small touch of Glossy Accents and tuck under the bird.
Cut Clouds from Glassine Bag, layer under Princess Tree, House and Fiona's Magic Mirror Frame. Use a very tiny amount of Glossy Accents on the area that will be layered and not visible.
