Butterfly Wishes card by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi there, this is Eva here today and I have a very summery card here with full of flowers.  As I thought of what I could create for this week's challenge, well, the first thing popped in my head is the abundance of flowers, so I thought I would create a pretty window scene.

To create my card I first started with an A2 size aqua color card stock and I layered a slightly smaller yellow card stock on top of it and I die cut an A2 Frames rectangle Scalloped using patterned paper.  Than I cut a Window A and I cut around it to cut it out and backed it up with aqua and green card stock to create a backdrop to it. I stamped my sentiment in one of the windows.   I die cut Baby's Breath Flower Kit using red card stock and added it to the top of the window as decorations.  I die cut, shaped and put together all my pretty flowers I listed below and added it to the bottom of the window and added some Ivy Strip.

As a final touch I die cut Mini Butterflies out of gold glittered card stock and added it to my card.

Here are the dies I used to create this card with:

Stepping Towards Christmas with Rhonda

3:30 AM 6 Comments
Monday greetings to you!  It's Rhonda here to host the blog for you today.

I've got a step card to share with you today with a bit of an unconventional holiday color scheme.  This card was created with our Step Card and Snowflakes dies and several of our newer release dies as well.

The Step Card die made quick work of creating the base for my card. I honestly just love this die!  Once I had my base and layers created, I inked and then stitched them down for a little added interest and texture.

I chose the Shuttered Window with Flower Box and decided to layer the Birch Tree die behind it.  I did cut the tree twice, then angled the top branches off to the side for this effect.  I modified my Bird a bit by cutting the back wing and angling it a bit, then I inked and added a coat of Glossy Accents.

Thankful for You!

3:30 AM 12 Comments
Hi everyone, it's me Gabrielle Pollacco with you here today as guest designer for the month of September!  I was so happy to be asked to be a guest of Cheery Lynn's Designs, I've been admiring their beautiful die cut designs for some time now so I was thrilled to find out I could use them with my Revolution die cutting machine!

For my first project this month I thought I would do a layout using a variety of the dies. They have such amazing 'build your own' flower dies which allow you to make one large, full, frilly bloom or if you break them up like I did, you can make a few blooms in different sizes.

I basically went with a large, medium and small floral design using the Shasta Daisy B-310 die cut.  I used 1 large + 2 medium to make a large bloom, 2 medium + 1 Small to make the medium bloom and 3 small cuts to make the small bloom.  I used some green chalk ink to tint the centers of the blooms to give them a slight color depth and finished it by adding a soft yellow gem to the center. I also used one of the Lace Corner Deco B - B162 pieces to give a lacey accent around my flower cluster. and a piece of the gorgeous Fanciful Flourish B-117 to finish the cluster.

For my other floral cluster I used a design technique that is a favourite of mine to use and that is to softly ink the area around the cluster and add a mask with some texture paste.  Here I used a script mask.  This helps draw focus into the main embellishments on the page and draw the eye into the photo.

Another die that I'm crazy about is the Ivy Corner Flourish B315.  This die cut is awesome for frame and underscoring.  Here I used it to frame the floral patterned paper that I layered onto the page and also used it to underscore the title.

Another beautiful die that I just knew I had to have was the Window A FRM-141, it just adds such a light, airy, summery design to a page!  I added a lace 'curtain' to the design by adding the Anastasia Border B-136 along the top edge of the window panes.  I also used the lace edge along the bottom of the photo and peeking out from the pulled back paper edge at the top of the page.

I also used another one of the Lace Corner Deco B-162 die cuts to create a corner/border design to go all around the edges of the layout.  I simply adhered the corners onto the background paper and then used a white Signo Unibal gel pen to draw a doodled line to link them up.

I hope you all enjoyed my project for today!  And I look forward to sharing more fun projects with you in the upcoming weeks!

By The Sea *GDT Cheery Lynn Designs*

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Hi...Happy Saturday! It's Lisa back again guest designing with a new card for Cheery Lynn Designs using more fabulous diecuts! Since, I had some store credit for designing this month, here are a few of the beautiful dies I received just a few days ago. It is soooo hard to chose a few when I want them all! I have been in this beach mood lately, but I didn't want to use the same old beach theme colors like blues and oranges. So I chose red...after all it is my favorite color and I just love those red beach chairs that you sometimes see at resorts.

I wanted to use a window and I love the beautiful fancy scroll work on top. This die is called "Window A" and the possibilities with this die are limitless. The doily in the background called "French Pastry" is one that I have wanted for a very long time because I use doilies so often for many of my projects and now I can make it in different colors to match perfectly. :)

The flowers are part of the stacker collection and this one is "Stacker Flower #2" I was happily surprised to see the size of them...I was thinking that they would be a bit smaller....I'm so glad they were larger than I thought. :) I cut up the "Fanciful Flourish" in a couple pieces to layer the greenery a bit. I then added some real shells. The stamped images are from Heartfelt Creations it is part of their new collection this month. Last but not least, I added a tiny tag with a sentiment printed from my computer.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day and weekend. I will be attending a local scrapbook convention today and hope to buy more new Cheery Lynn Designs Dies....Love them!
Maybe see you there!
Hugs, Lisa

Forever Bouquet

3:30 AM 8 Comments
Hello! I’m want to share some fun ideas I had taking my dies “outside the box” this week!
I started by taking one of my favorite dies, the French Lattice Small Frame and cutting it apart to form corners for my layout. I just adore the pattern of this lattice! It’s delicate flair set the tone for my layout. Using the largest of the Mini Pearl Circle Reflections Boutique, I cut a circle for my background. I placed Lace Corner Deco B all around the edge of the circle to give it a lacy edge. The Victorian Garden Doily Frame surrounds my photo, matted with the Scalloped Rectangle Reflections Boutique. Tucked under my photo is Window A, framing my journaling words.

Happy Holidays

3:30 AM 5 Comments

We got our first bit of snow here in mid-Michigan so I felt compelled to make a holiday card with snowflakes for today's Cheery Lynn Designs post.   I decided to create a center step card and I wanted to be looking in a window from the outside.  I used my Window B die adding this adorable image from Mo Manning called Hanging the Stockings behind it.  Across the bottom of my card I have added Lace Light Deco border and down the side panels I used my Daisy Lace Bracelet border die.  For the snowflakes, I used both of the new Snowflower sets; One and Two, adding dimensional foam between the each set of two snowflakes.

As you can see, I added lots of gems and the final step was the Happy Holidays sentiment.  The DP is from the Echo Park Season's Greetings 6x6 paper pad.  Finished size is 6" square.  If you would like to make a center step card, you can find the templates to make a 6" square or an A2 version here

Cheerful Christmas in July

6:24 AM 7 Comments
It really is hard to believe we are half way through this year already.
But is you are one of those that really likes to plan ahead, we are tempting you this week over at the Cheery Lynn Challenge Blog with a Christmas July theme.
My creation today goes along with that theme.
I know I have mentioned before how I  love to use my Mary Engelbreit calendars as pieces for focal points of my cards.

What I wanted to do with this card was to somewhat mimic the scene that was going on in the Mary Engelbreit image.

You can see here the Window C, peeking from the back of the card image..

When you open up this tri-fold card you will see the small, simple scene inside the Window. I made the snow with Scalloped Circles, the stars are from the Patriotic Swag, the trees are upside down leaves from the Frangipani, and the festive colored flower is the  Frangiapni with leaves.
I also embossed the white scalloped circles with Eccentric Circles Embossing Plate to give them more dimension.

On the inside of the card, I used the Mini Pearl French Flair die for a large background piece and decorated it with the Frangiapni with leaves and Bird on Branch 2.

The white space gives a nice area for a personal note.

I love how the Franipani doubles as a "hook" to catch the corner of the image and holds this card closed.

Be sure to check out our challenge blog and we'd love for you to play along with us on our challenge for your own chance at winning a shopping spree worth $20.00 of Cheery Lynn Designs Dies.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday.

Window Box

3:30 AM 17 Comments

Hello! Today’s  5x7 card was inspired by the current challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs, Wedding/Anniversary.
My card features Window A. I started by cutting the background from the largest of the Classic Coved Rectangle Silver Stackers. I wanted a subtle pattern without a lot of color so I embossed the coved rectangle with the stunning Diamonds & Starburst XL Embossing Plate. In the corners, I tucked in lacy diecuts from the Lace Corner Deco F set to add a bit of elegant flair.
To create the window box, I cut a Square Scalloped Stacker Nesting Die. I folded the top portion down to give my “box” scalloped “trim.” I then folded in the edges and bottom to create a three-dimensional box.
The flowers filling my box are Darling Daisies, Miniature Roses, Medium Rose, and Build a Flower #1.
The image is stamped on the Classic Oval Silver Stacker, layered atop the Scalloped Oval Stacker Nesting Die. Adorned with a Darling Daisy and Pine Branch.

Fathers Day with personalized greetings

6:38 AM 7 Comments
Since Father's day is just a couple of days away, I wanted to make a special card for the man many children in my house call DAD!!
I am using lots of things from Canvas Corp and 7 Gypsies.

I used the 7 gypsies stamp sets called Numero and Ephemera.

You can see that I took the die called Window C and used it as my focal point.  The Window not only worked as my base but also worked for me to clip the bits and pieces of embellishments to the card with the mini clothespins.

I backed the frame with the Zig Zag border and used the leftover scraps from cutting the Lace Light Deco Border. As you can see, the leftovers work like a mini banner.

I used the Scalloped Square set for my tags that you see hanging with the clothespins.
I love the way this turned out.  It is truly a one of a kind card and thanks to the supplies that I used it is also personalized with dates and phrases that will be meaningful to the recipient.
I hope you have a great weekend.  Enjoy your fathers, brothers, grandpas, sons or whomever you share your weekend with.

Isn't this a great design? I just love how this card turned out, and the dies I used to create with.
 Screen Door w/Cat
 Cathedral Lace Frame
 Judy's Blooms
 Medium Rose

I used some fun designer papers and made this layered flower, I have been loving all the floral designs my fellow design team members have been sharing.
Do you see how I used the lace frame as the screen for the door? I love how it turned out- this came by accident while I was cutting the dies.I just laid the pieces in a pile and picked these up together.
The sentiment is from a CTMH stamp set, the papers are from DCWV and my stash.
So I have a second design with a window- this is one of the newest die that were just released
Window die
Burble / Cheese Cloth Texture Embossing Plate
 Lace Flourish Letter F
Deco Corner
I decided to make a Fashion card design using a New York fashion lady this is a great paper design from DCWV. That beautiful rich ribbon is from really reasonable Ribbon. This is a quick card for me but such a fun one... I have had several of my  followers ask me to share a few easy designs using dies...and can be used with many type papers or a stamped design in the inside. I could also see some flowers in the window.
Thanks for stopping by today, hope to see you play along with us this week- you could be our winner.

Have A Blooming Good Day!

3:30 AM 9 Comments

Hi! It's Gini here today filling in for Jeannie.  She will be back next week with an awesome project. When I saw this paper (Dilly Dally from MME), it reminded me of a day in the country, surrounded by barns, flowers and fields. So, it should be no surprise that I paired this paper up with some wonderful Cheery Lynn Designs dies to create a fun and nostaligic card. I pictured an old church window, with vines and flowers trailing around it.
I used Judy's Blooms and Build A Flower One to create my Camelia. (Let me just tell you the stamens that come with the Build A Flower are going to become one of your favorite dies!) I took Fiona's Magic Window, and cut away the middle of it, to create a wonderful border.
Remember, if you would like to add a window or a door to your project, then go enter it in this week's challenge for your chance to win a $20 CLD gift certificate!
For those of you in the States, I hope you have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend!

Let there be love

3:30 AM 10 Comments

Good morning :)  Alison here today, sharing my card for this weeks challenge theme of 'Add a Door or Window'

When I first saw this gorgeous window die I knew it would look stunning on a wedding card, its so elegant! There are 3 beautiful window dies in the latest new releases and perfect for so many occasions.

I hand-stitched my backing paper onto white pearl card and added one of the corners from the Lace Corner Deco I set to the top of the window.  I decorated the bottom of the window frame with a section of the Mini Flourish Band die, this is so delicate and even though its very intricate it cuts beautifully.  I then placed 3 Mini Fanciful Flourishes decorated with pearls before adding my stamped image.

All dies used on this project are:

I hope you find time to join in with our challenge this week, and I look forward to seeing some gorgeous creations.  Dont forget, there is also fabulous daily inspiration from the other talented members of the DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog.

I hope everyone has a smashing week, and thanks so much for visiting today.
