Soar to new heights

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here sharing this fun circle scalloped card that I made with the winter scene die and the hot air balloon die with angel wing! The winter scene is cut and layered to give the appearance of houses on a hillside. I completed my all-occasion card with the sentiment soar using a gear for the letter "o". I love how this card turned out! I hope you do too!

A Vintage Thank You with Rhonda

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Happy Monday to you!  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog today and share a project with you.  Did you see the latest challenge theme is "Thank You"?  Let's face it, we can all use several of these on hand, right?

Cheery Lynn Designs has such a fun array of dies and the details are just exquisite!  I've been wanting to use this Vintage Bicycle die since I got it!  It's so dramatic I wanted it to be the focal point so I selected more muted papers to show it off.

Below the bicycle, I've layered two different Sentiment Frames on top of one another to great a unique look for my sentiment block. Beneath them you'll see a snippet of the Kiwi Spirit Doily cut from white cardstock.

I've used dimensional foam for one of my clouds and the top layer of my sentiment block.

Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:
Vintage Bicycle (Steampunk Series) - B356
Scalloped Coved Rectangles - XM11
Clouds and Rain - B320
Ankara Lace Border - B332
Sentiment Frame #1 - B189
Kiwi Spirit Doily - DL108

We'd love for you to join us in our "Thank You" challenge this week!  Don't forget, you could just win a $20 gift certificate for playing along!!!

..... and a Happy New Year

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi and Good Morning everyone, Alison here today! :)  I hope you all had a wonderful christmas, and have many memories to treasure.

My card today is inspired by New Year, and I used some of the gorgeous Steampunk Dies by Cheery Lynn Designs, and I think they look very classy and effective in gold card!  My husband actually wanted to turn this card into a clock for the wall :)

I started off with a 6 x 6 inch blank card base and layered black bazzil card and gold mirri card.  I cut some stunning gears and layered them behind French Flair stackers and scalloped stackers, and then cut out the Steampunk Clock.  The gold card shows the intricacy and clarity that this die cuts, its just super-sharp and the tiny bits just fell out.  The clock was layered onto more black card, and raised by foam pads.  I added gold studs for a jewelled clock effect.

All dies used on this card are:

Thanks so much for visiting our blog today, and I would like to wish you and your families all the very best for a happy and prosperous New Year.

Have a smashing week,

Be Mine Valentine!

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here a Steampunk Valentine For You! I adore these Streampunk--if you haven't already guessed and this Hearts and Gears set works perfectly with the individual Gears set and the larger Gear Mesh Border! I love using the Optimistic Set to make a Steampunk alphabet by adding in gears for the "o"s in words! The mesh was cut in Black and placed on the Peek-a-boo right and rubbed with a pink Inka Gold cream. Mirrored gold gears were matched up with gears on the hearts and glued above and below the gears. Both hearts were cut from a brushed red metallic cardstock but the smaller heart was inked with gold and rubbed on strategic gears with the pink Inka Gold cream. White pen stitching around the letters and the hearts complete the Valentine! I hope you enjoy my card! Thank you for stopping by!

Let's Talk with Rhonda

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Happy Monday to you!  Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

I was inspired by this week's new challenge theme, "Anything Goes" for my project. I really love the Dripping Butterfly die and built my card around this die. I find it to have so many uses, particularly for any kind of project that conveys emotion.

To mix things up a bit, I selected a 5" square card base in kraft. The Princesses Garden Window Frame was used and the layer behind it you can see the Dutch Scallop Square Frame peeking out.

I've listed my dies below for you in the layered order they appear on my card. I love how they all layered together to create such a pretty space for my Dripping Butterfly. I did add some Waterfall Stickles to my butterfly and some goosebumps bling as well.

I cut my Sophie's Heart Mini doily in half and attached behind the Scalloped Coved Rectangle.

Hello everybody  it's Amy here with you today!

This time it's a boy's layout, I stole a picture of my uncle Evert's Facebook page, one of when he was about two years old.
I so love old pictures it makes me go back in time.....the good golden day's

When I was just a little Boy:
I so much like the gate die it is such a fun one to play with. This is the first time I used the oval frame and wow what a great die!
Now for some close-ups:

It's the lower right corner with the gears that got messed up with orange juice! So one tip for you all use a bottle when drinking in your scrap room. :-)))

Christmas Step Card

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Sandy here with you today and I have created a cute Christmas Step Card.  I love how quick you can make one of these with the use of Cheery Lynn Designs Step Card die.  I mean, it not only cuts and scores the card base, you can also cut out the perfect panels for both inside and out!  To embellish my card, I used my Alison's Ribbons set, so many combinations to make perfectly matching paper ribbon.  Behind my image I added a Rum Punch Doily.  Using my Circle Stackers, I cut the center out of the doily, added some texture with my Circle Stitcher Plate and then put the circle back into the doily.  I used dimensionals to raise the image above the doily.

Finished size is 5 5/8" square, perfect for a 6" square envelope.  You can see the lovely DP panel I die cut for the inside of my card.

A Shiny New Year is around the corner

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here sharing a New Year card created with my favorite gears and the super fun metal colored card stocks [including the gold mirror card stock]. For the focal pocket watch die cut, I cut the watch die with the gold mirror card stock. I then used the angel wing die to cut a white background for the watch. I completed the watch by incorporating some metallic colored gears and a copper brad. The word New Year was cut from the Optimistic ½" size Alphabet--a super size for creating cards! The gear imagery was continued on the cover by the sentiment and onto the peek-a-boo side strip that I created by cutting back 1¼" of the front cover to reveal gears juxtaposed so that they "might" start turning. A rectangle of white was cut to allow for a message to be easily written on the inside. A bit of glittered Ankara Lace decorated the edge of the top flap.

A Little Love Note with Rhonda

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Happy Monday Cheery Lynn Friends! It's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.

I wanted a little break away from the holiday "everything" right now to create an everyday card this week. We always need a card on hand to say we're thinking of someone or simply that we love them.

This is a shaped card featuring our Coved Rectangle stackers.  I just love this pretty shape and the backer here is the scalloped, then the blue-green layer is actually a folded layer.

The hearts here relief cuts from the Heartland America Doily die.  I thought they were pretty layered in with the floral cluster.  The solid heart edges were inked for a bit of definition.

Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:
Classic Coved Rectangle
Coved Rectangle Scalloped LG - XL11
Coved Rectangle Classic - XL10
Daphne Doily with Angel Wings - DL264
Border Carnivale - DL129
Daisy Strip - B259

Darling Daisies - A196
Heartland America - DL110
Flourish Leaf Strip - B178
Tropical Flourish - B127
Embellishment 2 - B188

Please join us this week for our new challenge - Sparkle and Shine!  It's perfect for those of us who love glitter, bling and jewels!  You could win a fabulous $20 prize to shop in the Cheery Lynn Designs store, just for playing!!!

I hope you're taking a little time to enjoy the season, have a fabulous week!
