Window Box

3:30 AM 17 Comments

Hello! Today’s  5x7 card was inspired by the current challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs, Wedding/Anniversary.
My card features Window A. I started by cutting the background from the largest of the Classic Coved Rectangle Silver Stackers. I wanted a subtle pattern without a lot of color so I embossed the coved rectangle with the stunning Diamonds & Starburst XL Embossing Plate. In the corners, I tucked in lacy diecuts from the Lace Corner Deco F set to add a bit of elegant flair.
To create the window box, I cut a Square Scalloped Stacker Nesting Die. I folded the top portion down to give my “box” scalloped “trim.” I then folded in the edges and bottom to create a three-dimensional box.
The flowers filling my box are Darling Daisies, Miniature Roses, Medium Rose, and Build a Flower #1.
The image is stamped on the Classic Oval Silver Stacker, layered atop the Scalloped Oval Stacker Nesting Die. Adorned with a Darling Daisy and Pine Branch.
There is still time to enter this weeks challenge for your chance at a $20 shopping spree and the Big Shot!! Details Here!

Love

3:30 AM 9 Comments

I am here with you today with another try at a scrapbook page; the photo is from my best friend's daughter's first wedding anniversary.  Aren't they a lovely couple?  To create the great frame around the photo I used my Horizon Coved Rectangle Mega Doily dies.  I die cut the frame, then centered the next smallest die over the back of the photo and hand trimmed the corners.  I used a Mega Tea Party Doily as a backdrop for my flowers.  I created the largest flower by layering from the top: stamens from Build a Flower #1, Judy's Blooms (smallest flower) and two Stacker Flower 6 die cuts.  The other two flowers are stamens on top of both of the flowers from Judy's Blooms.  I used my Mega Fanciful Flourish for the greenery.  To create the word "love" I die cut the letters using my Lace Script Lower Case alphabet set.  The designer paper is from the K&Company Bailey paper collection.  Finished size is 12 x 12 inches.

You still have time to enter the Wedding/Anniversary challenge here on the challenge blog.  In addition to a $20 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs, we will be giving away a Big Shot die cut machine to one of this month's entries.  So why not join in on the fun.

Modern Wedding Colors

3:30 AM 8 Comments
It seems to me that weddings now a days love to break away from traditional colors.
Over at Joy's Life Design Team we are making things this week focusing on the colors Orange, Turquoise and Yellow.  Over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge Blog, our current Challenge is Wedding and/or Anniversary.  I love combing challenges.  It makes it even MORE challenging.  So my challenge was to make a wedding card using the non-traditional colors, Orange, Turquoise and Yellow.

Here is what I came up with.

I started by cutting my background pieces with the Scalloped Rectangles.  I embosses the Turquoise on with the Dotted Swiss Embossing Plate and the Orange with the Black Eyed Susan Embossing Plate.

I made the pears out of the smallest of the eggs in the Nesting Eggs set.  I then just altered the egg to make it look more like a pear and less like and egg.

I embellished the rest of the card with Pretty Petals

The cute phrase is actually 2 parts of 2 different phrases combined to make this perfect wedding card.
Bot phrases are from a set called Yummy Puns by Joy's Life Stamps.
I hope you have enjoyed my offbeat humor in my project today.

Kianel here with you and today i am showing you an quick made card which is fitting our challenge this week: wedding / anniversary. Go and enjoy the fun as you might also win a Big shot!!!
Okay, as you might have noticed i love to add many many details to my cards so for once i tought i could try with clean and simple but with a vintage feeling. this is in fact a tag as you can hang it wherever you want.

The whole base is built out of the Heart to heart Lace Doily. You have 4 dies in this set and the possibility of getting 6 die cuts!!!!

I then cut 3 pieces of the smallest heart and glued them together to make it pop out of the tag.

A simple text and some leaves from the Flourish leaf strip and voilà!

Paper is from GCD and stamp from Magnolia.
Hope you will like this project and i wish you all a wonderful week enjoying the marvellous creations of my Dt mates, love from a sunny France, Kianel.

Wedding Congratulations, and our Weekly Spotlight Top 3

3:30 AM 8 Comments
Hi and Good Morning everyone, Alison here today.  I wanted to say thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous Red, White & Blue creations with us last week, picking a Top 3 is proving to be quite a challenge when we have such a high standard of entries, but this week the DT picked (in order of entry)

Well done ladies!  It was a real pleasure visiting your blogs and seeing your fabulous projects! :)  Please contact us for your Weekly Spotlight Badge to display on your blog.

So our new challenge this week is to make something to celebrate either a Wedding or Anniversary, and this is a fabulous excuse to go really lavish and classy to create a special keepsake.

I went with a Wedding Congratulations card and used 300gsm pearl shimmer card for all the layers, dies cuts and embellishments on a 6 x 6 inch card base.

I used the gorgeous Polynesian Sails Oval frame for the centrepiece of this card as it has a real wow factor and is a great size for any image, and the Border Carnivale die is tucked just behind.  I then set about making the flowers using Judy's Blooms and cutting 4 layers (using both large and small for the biggest flower), adding stamen from the Build A Flower set, and then holding them together with pearl brads.  I love the way Cheery Lynn Dies have such embossed details especially on leaves and flower dies, it makes such a huge difference and works so well on pearl card.

The leaves are a mix of Judy's Bloom again, and also Olive Branches.   I always use silicone glue for positioning leaves and flowers in an arrangement,  it allows a bit of movement so you can jiggle things about until you are happy with your spray.

All dies used on this card are:

This week is your last chance to enter our monthly competition to win a Big Shot Die Cutter and as always we have a fabulous weekly prize of $20 to spend online in our store too.  I hope you find time to join in this week, and dont forget there is always wonderful daily inspiration from the rest of the  DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog.

Have a smashing week everyone and thanks so much for visiting today.

Happy Birthday To You

3:00 AM 9 Comments
Ok,It is me Dawn today. I have  a quick project I put together this weekend with my limited reach to my craft supplies. Thank goodness I could reach my Cheery Lynn Designs die cuts and Big Shot.

Let me share a few steps with you to make my Birthday door hangar.

I had this wooden door hangar I painted with one of  my favorite paint colors...
I cut my first layer out with the Japanese Garden Lace Oval.I went to inking the outside with a brown and then used the inside with a green.I love these dies because I can use each piece ~ the positive and negative side.
I cut my stamped and colored image with Scalloped Oval.
I then decided to mat my image with the frame but needed a background to hold it all together.

I just used the die and traced around the shape~you know I fussy cut each of those scallops.NOW I know why I love using dies...lol
Then of course I went to work making some flowers to decorate my frame. Miniature Rose,
Cuties 2  make a great small collage along with the leaves from my frame.
My last touches were adding some ribbon and trim and of course a Happy Birthday sentiment to the bottom.
I think this will be fun to add to the birthday person's door on their special day.
Thanks for joining me today~ here at Cheery Lynn Designs

Dreams Do Come True

3:30 AM 10 Comments
Good Morning and welcome to the Cheery Lynn blog! Today I'm sharing a 12 x 12 layout that features several Cheery Lynn dies and my sweet little grand daughter Belle.  What little girl doesn't dream about being a Princess?  It's funny because I have 5 little princesses and when I was visiting I opened their closet and there were more princess gowns than regular clothes!!! I had to have a photo and will share that soon here!
To make the flowers on this layout I used Judy's Blooms and the Large Rose.  I layered the English Tea Party Doily underneath the flowers.  If you haven't noticed...I almost always add a butterfly or 2.  To finish everything off and give the layout some motion I added the Mini Fanciful Flourish to the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by the Cheery Lynn blog today!

Be sure to check out the new challenge at the CLD Challenge blog!

Blessed Beyond Measure

There is a small country church, not too far from where I live - and I've always thought it was so picturesque. My sister and I took my nephew over there, and got some of my all time favorite photographs. I just think this picture is so sweet. It was so fun combining my dies and this picture for a fun 12 x 12 layout.
I love adding the stamens from the Build- A-Flower Set to all of my existing flower dies - it gives them a whole new look.
The Doily Stacker Circle also adds a whole new dimension to the center of the Mega Tea Party Doily.

There's a new challenge at the CLD Challenge blog - and this week we want to see Wedding/ Anniversary projects. We hope you will play along with us!

Remember This

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hello! Today’s 12x12 layout is inspired by this weeks challenge, Red White and Blue.
I started by creating a border around my background paper with Lace Light Deco Border. Next, I layered the Nautical Wheeler Doily, Mega Tea Party Doily, and the center of the Polynesian Sails Oval Doily. To matte my photo, I chose to stagger to cuts from the middle size French Flair Classic Silver Stacker. Along the bottom you see the Flower Chain Border resting atop the Border Carnivale.
To create the banner, I used half of the center cut of Polynesian Sails Oval for each pennant.
I really wanted to add a flag to my little cluster but didn’t have one. What does a crafty person do when they can find what they are looking for? Create their own! For the red piece, I cut the smallest of the Scalloped Coved Rectangle Small Stacker Nesting Dies.  I handstiched some stripes and created French knots for the stars. Once complete, I wrapped the coved edge around a toothpick for the pole. It’s not politically correct but it is original! J The flower was created using the Medium Rose. Foilage is from the Olive Branch, Flourish Leaf Strip, and Small Leaves #2.
There is still time to get your entry in for this weeks challenge, also being your entry for the Big Shot! Details Here
Have a great weekend, and thank you for stopping by.

Celebrating America

5:38 AM 6 Comments
It's hard to believe that we are nearing the 4th of July, but it is just around the corner.
Right now on the challenge blog the theme is Red, White and Blue for You, so today my project is based on that theme.

I started with a canvas from Canvas Corp and used lots of Canvas Corp paper to make this adorable 4th of July altered canvas.

I took my inspiration from the Mary Engelbreit image you see on the canvas.  This was from a small desk calendar I have.  I use the calendar on a lot of different art projects.

The strip for the base I cut with the Wittle Weavers. The swag on the white fence is called Patriotic Swag and the fence is called Victorian Picket Fence. The small flower by the phrase is the Medium Rose.

I also used the Scalloped Rectangles and squares

The little banner is just made from cut of squares.

So there you have it, my take on Red, White and Blue for You.
I hope you can go over to the challenge blog and play along.
This has been Jeannie with The Polka Cabana with today's post.

Let me share that I used the following Cheery Lynn Designs Products:
Small Angel Wing
 Small #2 Angel Wing
 Mini Fanciful Flourish
  Victorian Picket Fence
 Lace Corner Deco E
 Buttons3
I finally got to use two of the first dies I ever chose, the Victorian fence and the buttons for Two similar cards.
I just wanted to share a typical day during the summer, around the 4th of July .

I used my Copic marker and airbrush compressor to paint the background. Now my base was ready to go by adding my fence with pop dot to add dimension. There is red checked ribbon threaded through the rungs.

The greenery was added to the background along with the two butterfly shapes cut out of CTMH paper scraps.I really like how the layers look together.

Here is a close up of the buttons and corner pieces attached to the fence...I used some twine to finish off the buttons.
The sentiments are from Unity Stamp sets in my stash.
Hope to have you come and play along with us this week...this is such an easy one.
