Love card with Irina Gerschuk

Hi my dear scrap friends!!
It's Irina Gerschuk with you today.
First of all I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate and a wonderful day if not))
And now I'd like to show you my new card. I decided to create a love card this time. I'm sure you all have someone special who would be really happy to receive such card. So I hope my project can inspire you to create something lovely to your loved ones)))

As usual I started to create the card with a flower composition.

I created the background with Mesh Hearts Border and Lutradur® Mixed Media Sheets (it looks like a thin felt)

Then I add Lace Circle.

I decided to decorate the Lattice Heart die-cut with pearls and liquid pearls to highlight it.

Finally I added some beads and decorative pins as a zest.

Christmas card with Irina Gerschuk

Hi everyone)))
It's Irina Gerschuk with you today.
And I'd like to share with you my new Christmas card.

I tried to decorate it as an envelope and added some cute embellishments as a zest.

Here are some close-ups:

I highlighted the die-cuts with liquid pearls and machine stitching.

And here you can see some volume which I achieved using different layers of paper.

Not Square.....and Not a Card!

Hi and Good Morning everyone, Alison here today. :)

Well our new challenge this week is 'Shaped Card - Anything But Square', however I got carried away in the moment and ended up making an entire Keepsake Gift Box! lol.

One of the things I love about papercrafting and especially die-cutting the most, is how you can start off with just a few sheets of flat card and paper and end up with something totally 3 dimensional and created all by hand. This box did take me quite a bit of time, but I enjoyed every minute of it. :)

I used 300gsm Ivory Pearl card and 3 sheets of First Edition 12" x 12" papers to create this box, and all dies were cut with this too.

First of all I constructed a basic shape rectangle box, (approx 6 x 9 inches and 1" in depth) and covered the sides with paper and the Lace Light Deco Border. I then sandwiched the box between 2 Horizon Coved Reflection Die cuts to decorate the box lid and base. The reflection dies are so versatile you can adapt to almost any size - they are brilliant!

I then layered smaller coved rectangles, scalloped coved rectangles and the Chasing Rainbows Doily in alternate layers of card and paper, before decorating with flourishes, butterflies and flowers. I inked all the edges in walnut stain DI, added pearls, a pearl pin, wooden embellishments and ribbon, and finally sprinkled some glitter for a bit of sparkle.

Fun With Tags

Welcome to Friday everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you a couple of tags that I have made. I used the DL193 - Horizon Coved Rectangle die to make the base of the tags instead of using a pre-made tag. This gave me the flexibility to make the size I wanted.

If you have not had the chance to use these Reflection dies yet I highly recommend that you try them out. They are so versatile and I keep finding another use for them.

There is a post by my very talented team mate Kianel here that shows you how these dies can be combined to make different shapes. Check it out for more cool ideas : )

For my first tag I layered 3D DL225 - Snowflowers Set One on top of the B238 - Love You More and used the B215 - Expandable Tiny Borders to hang the Snowflowers as ornaments.

Hello Pumpkin

Hi and Good Morning everyone, Alison here :) and back again today to share a card I made inspired by this weeks Cheery Lynn Challenge theme of 'Black & Orange'.

I was kind of nervy making this weeks project as Orange is SO out of my comfort zone, but once I got started it was nice to dip into some much neglected orange stash and I was really pleased with how this turned out. :)

I layered black bazzil cardstock, MME and Prima papers onto a 6 x 6 inch card base and then went to town on the dies. Cheery Lynn have some awesome Halloween and seasonal dies and I used the Spider Web Doily, Spooky Tree, Going Batty, and Witch Hunt themed dies on this card. I matted my image onto the gorgeous Horizon Coved Reflection die and shadowed it in black card behind. I also used my favourite Lace Light Deco border die on this card as its so versatile!

'Celebrating' Christmas & Our Weekly Spotlight Top 3

Hi and Good Morning everyone :) Alison here today and WOW!!! What amazing, stunning and gorgeous creations we had last week! It was another tough week to narrow it down to just 3 fabulous entries for our spotlight, so the Top 4 (in order of entry) chosen by the DT are:

Now I decided to make a Christmas card for our 'Celebrations' theme this week, without using any obvious christmas dies, papers or embellishments just to see if I could still make it look jolly festive! :) lol.

My card base is 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches, as the stamp is quite large and I didnt want to squish it up or cramp it.

I hand-stitched my papers to taupe coloured bazzil card and tucked the Anastasia border just underneath to the left. I then layered the Horizon Coved reflection die in contrasting colours and the gorgeous little mini-doily was from the Polynesian Sails die (its a little extra in the middle of the die and so cute! :)) I made the flower in the top right using one of the corners from the Lace Corner Deco D die set and used a pearl brad to hold it together.

The wintry looking flower in the bottom left was made using 4 layers of a 3 leaf die and stamen from the Build a Flower set also held together with a pearl brad.

Now whenever I stumble upon a WoW card in blogland it always takes my breath away, so I was delighted it was our challenge theme this week. Its a fabulous way to showcase your dies and looks so luxurious even though its quite simple to achieve really effective results.

For my card I started with a 6 x 6 card base and cut the elegant Cathedral Lace Frame and Border Carnivale out of American Crafts cardstock for the background. I then used the 2nd smallest size Mini Pearl Oval Reflection die for my image backing and embellished the card with small butterflies, Flourish Leaves, layered flowers and pearls.

I am here with you today with another try at a scrapbook page; the photo is from my best friend's daughter's first wedding anniversary. Aren't they a lovely couple? To create the great frame around the photo I used my Horizon Coved Rectangle Mega Doily dies. I die cut the frame, then centered the next smallest die over the back of the photo and hand trimmed the corners. I used a Mega Tea Party Doily as a backdrop for my flowers. I created the largest flower by layering from the top: stamens from Build a Flower #1, Judy's Blooms (smallest flower) and two Stacker Flower 6 die cuts. The other two flowers are stamens on top of both of the flowers from Judy's Blooms. I used my Mega Fanciful Flourish for the greenery. To create the word "love" I die cut the letters using my Lace Script Lower Case alphabet set. The designer paper is from the K&Company Bailey paper collection. Finished size is 12 x 12 inches.

Shimmering Roses and our Weekly Spotlight Top 3!

Now for my card inspired by our new challenge theme this week of 'Roses'.

I love adding hand-made flowers to my creations - you can make them match perfectly to your chosen project colours, and they are also delightfully satisfying to make.

Sandy has done a brilliant tutorial on making Roses from Cheery Lynn Dies HERE and after selecting my shimmery and pearly papers, I cut out 3 layers of each size of the Large Rose, Medium Rose and Miniature Rose and embossed and inked the edges.

I made 3 different size blooms from the same 3 size dies including the rose-buds and they are secured with tiny brads and a blob of Viva Decor Pearl Pen on top.

I hand-stitched my papers and layered 2 borders cut with the Lace Light Deco Border. I added the Victorian Romance Corner Flourish to anchor my roses and leaves, added pearl pins, ribbon and a hand-written tag.

Challenge 31 - Make It Manly

Hi and Good Morning, Alison here again today with a card inspired by our challenge theme this week of 'Make It Manly'.

We not only have a great prize on offer again this week, but also we have such an additional, exciting incentive to play along! Each challenge entry during the month of June will get their name added to a drawing to win a BIG SHOT die cut machine! Now like many card-makers and crafters I struggle with making masculine creations, as without the bling, flowers and flourishes I always feel like I have put less effort into it, but with Cheery Lynn Dies, I can still go to town adding embellishments and focal points that are suitable for any occasion. There is a great collection of corners, borders and scrolls that are intricate and fancy without being feminine.

I have used one of my favourite corners from the set - Lace Corner Deco H, added a flourish with the Mini Flourish One and also made the border from the offcut from Cuties 3 to add impact and detail to this card.

I also wanted to show on this project how versatile the Reflection dies can be, as not only do they go up to very large sizes, but they can also be sized down to make wonderful mats for your sentiments too.

Bling It Up!

Hi Everyone :) Alison here, back again sharing my card for this weeks fabulous challenge theme of 'Bling It Up'. We have had some super entries so far, and you still have plenty of time to enter here.

Now this has been a really exciting week for Cheery Lynn Designs, as yesterday saw the much awaited New Release dies, and I had so much fun using some of these on my card. I chose to make an easel card as you can fit so many different elements on these and really go to town adding layers, bling and embellishments.

I am very lucky to have a brilliant relationship with my sister and although we dont see each other a lot (there are about 600 miles between us) we still remain very close and share many laughs, and I know she would love this card ;)!

I used the some of the gorgeous new corners from the Lace Corner Deco H set, and also the new Mini Fanciful Flourish on the panels behind my image. The larger flourish is a firm favourite of mine, but this smaller one is so very cute and versatile and a perfect size for adding on your cards. I made the larger bloom from layers cut with the Sweet Williams dies and also added stamens from the new Build a Flower set in various sizes.

I hand stitched all my papers, and on the base I used the new Spring Flower Burst doily die, and again repeated the corners, flowers, stamens and border lace.

I had such a lot of fun making this card - the cute little faces on these little darlings really made me smile and I think I grinned the whole time I was colouring them in! :D

More Shades of Purple

Hi Everyone :) Alison here today, sharing my card for this weeks challenge theme of 'Shades of Purple'.

Now, I'm not the biggest fan of 'Purpaidh' (Gaelic for purple) so this was a little bit of a challenge for me too. I love the vibrancy and depth of the colour, I just cant find anything to compliment it except black and white! lol :D

I played with a couple of gorgeous new dies I hadn't used before, and I was blown away at how brilliantly they cut and how detailed the results were. I started off using the Cathedral Lace Frame for my back-drop and overlaid it onto lilac vellum to soften the colour a little. This is such a wonderful die and very versatile too.

I used white bazzill cardstock to cut both the large and the small Lace Faerie Queen Butterflies - arent these just fabulous! :) They also have such beautiful detail. I cut matching angel wings in vellum and this gave it lots of fluttery dimension. I coloured my stamped image, and cut off the original bat-wings, as I think these butterfly wings look so much prettier and delicate :)

Happy Birthday

Good Morning everyone, Alison here :) and back again today delighted to be sharing a card I made for this weeks Cheery Lynn Challenge theme of 'Birthday'.

I admit I was in my element making this sweet little card, I love how delicate and lacy these pretty dies look and they all work so well together.

This was my first time using one of the gorgeous Reflection Boutique Dies and was thrilled at the results! They were so easy to use and enabled me to create customised mats and layers in just the perfect size for my stamped image. The possibilities are endless, as I only used the 2 smallest sized B162 - Horizon Coved Rectangles dies, and you get a total of 6 different sizes in the set! I loved not being restricted in the sizes you can create, and can see myself making card bases and matching boxes from these fabby dies too! :)

Now, I love adding hand-stitching to my projects, so after I had stitched my paper and card panels, I started layering my dies on top.

The border was created using B160 - Queen Anne's Lace, (which is beautiful!) and the corners were cut from just one of the dies in the B162 - Lace Corner Deco B set

Playing with all my new supplies I decided that I had to use a NEW! Reflections Boutique Die

to make the shape of this card.I just placed on a fold of my card stock and got this Spectacular shape,So love these dies and the size is so amazing! Let me tell you if you want a larger shape that will fit in a regular die cutter (I have a Big Shot)this is the way to go. Can you believe I made a card this size ?

See this is the whole card shape and the inside decorated with the next size down die cut shape.

I used a package of botanical papers I had in my stash from DCWV for this design.

Look at the beautiful detail of the edge, isn't that amazing? and I used the smallest shape to make a tag for the front of my card, accented with the ferns.

Wanted to share a close up of a small sentiment and stamped butterfly from Unity.That yummy ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and worked well to pleat and accent the front of my design.

Can you tell I am just so excited to be playing with all these new dies and creating unique pieces that I could have never made without having these dies.
