3D Easter card and a tutorial - Kianel

5:32 AM 6 Comments
Bonjour to you dear Cheery Lynn friends,
Hope you're well, This is Kianel here with you today for another card i made in 3D and also a small tutorial to adorn your stackers, hope it will be useful to you.
So here is the card :

For this card i used the following dies :
-        B255 Cutie fringe 1 (to make the body of the round bush)
-        B264 Build a flower #3
-        B149 Cutie 1 (to make the lace around the oval card)
-        B119 tropical leaves
-        Circle classic small stackers (to cut the honeycomb paper)
-        D138 Mini dimensional butterflies

To make the pink bush i used a classic small circle stacker that i placed on my honeycomb paper at only half of the size. When you open the paper afterwards you get this cool bowl. I then added 2 Cutie fringe borders, one up and one down, to build the body of my bush, I like the cool effect it gives!

And here comes a little tutorial on how to use Cutie fringe borders as laces to adorn your stackers :
Step 1:
Cut out 2 Cutie 1 and ink them as you wish

Step 2 :
Flip them between every petal as an accordeon (flip the first one in and the second one out and so on...). It will give the border the needed “lightness” (really not sure of the word there, sorry…) to be shaped around the stacker.

Step 3 :
Sew around your stacker like on the picture and you get a beautiful lace ! Have fun !

Dies are from Cheery Lynn Designs. Stamps, printed paper and honeycomb papers are courtesy of Magnolia. Cardstock is from Bazzill. The image is watercoloured with Distress inks.

Birthday box - SSA magazine - Kianel

3:30 AM 11 Comments
Hello there,
Kianel here with you today to show the project that has been published in the SSA magazine of march 2013 which is out right now in the States. I still can't believe i'm in there among the amazing creations of my DT mates, wow!!!
Here is the birthday box i've made and i hope you will like it:
The bases are made with Scalloped rectangle reflection die. I also used XL square stacker and corresponding large silver square stackers to make my 2nd layer. The marvellous circle around the stamped image is called "Sophia's heart". The tag in the top space is sentiment frame #2. The tiny ones with loving wishes are from sentiment frame #1.
On each side i placed a queen anne's lace border to which i added a ribbon that i bowed in the middle. The box is 17,5 x 16cm and is 4,5cm high. You can then place chocolates or scrapgoodies inside and give it to a person you cherish.
Here are some close up of the flower i realized using the Build A flower #2 die building it from the center and when i was happy with it i placed it on my box and added some more petals on the side to make it look like it lays down on the box.

I then added some flower soft powder to give texture to my petals and some lovely tiny buttreflies from the mini dimensional butterflies set. Aren't those really really cute?

I used the leaves from the Build a flower #2 set and added some white paint to the borders. The tiny rose buds are made using the medium rose  once and the leaves that go with it.
Stamps and papers are Magnolia and Bazzill with cardboard also. Embellies are from a french store. Colouring is made using distress inks and Creative inspirations paints. All dies are from Cheery lynn designs.

Don't forget our weekly challenge and a chance to win a 20$ shopping spree and have some fun!
See you soon, love from France, Kianel.

Last new year's card - Kianel

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Hello dear Cheery Lynn friends,
Kianel here with you today for my last new year's card made with Cheery Lynn dies.

The base of the card is size 6 of scalloped rectangle mega doily adapted to a 16,5x20,5cm card.
The frame around the Tilda image is made with mini pearl rectangle mega doily with adapted size to fit the image. On the top of the card, i stamped my sentiment on sentiment frame #1. I then used pennant die, delicate lace script and wreath strip to decorate.

Here you can see the  BAF embellishment #2 and the mini dimensional butterflies which are the cutest ever!

Wedding garter and Queen Anne's lace borders make a beautiful combination to highlight any frame.

This flower is made with Judy's blooms die cut with white paper + blue tulle fabric at the same time, which gives the texture to the white paper when placed in the machine.
To decorate my flower, i used holly leaves in white paper and tropical leaves in kraft paper.

Don't forget our challenge blog every sunday with the opportunity to win a 20$ shopping spree and i also want to remind you that the new release will be revealed to you on 12th january and sure don't want to miss it as it's absolutely FANTASTIC!!!
Love from France, Kianel.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

3:30 AM 8 Comments
Hello Dear Cheery Lynn friends!
Kianel here with you today for the restart after a fantastic break.
I hope that you all had a great Christmas and i would like to wish you all a
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013!!!!!

So to begin this new year i made a "Bonne Année" card (Happy new year in french)
in a vintage style:
The base is the XL scalloped oval stackers size 6 (biggest one) combined with Large silver oval stackers (size 6) to cut the design paper at the perfect size.
The cute stamp is called "Tilda blowing hearts" and is from Magnolia last collection as is the paper. Colouring is made with Distress inks. The image is cut with Large silver oval stackers (size 1) and XL scalloped oval stackers size 1. It's all placed on Japanese garden lace oval.
The big flower and the small ones are combinations of Cherry Blossom dies and pearls for the hearts. To build the big one i used each die twice and shaped them as i wanted.
To build the flower buttons, i used one small die from the set to make 2 buttons. i just curled them tight and added pearls inside.
The tropical flourish and olive branches are completing the clustering.
I also used 2 dies from the mini dimensional butterflies set and decorated them with pearls.
The text is stamped on sentiment frame #1 set and cut to fit in the mini bottle.

Just want to tell you that you don't want to miss the new release of Cheery Lynn designs as it is purely FANTASTIC!!!! Come and join us for inspiration from the DT on the 12th of january!
Don't forget our challenge blog every monday for a chance to win a 20$ shopping spree.
Take care, love from France, Kianel.

2 cards and a flower tutorial - Kianel

3:30 AM 5 Comments
Hello dear Cheery Lynn friends,
Today i am showing you a card i made which is quite quick and simple.

The base of the card is a cardstock that i worked with the snowflake edger border.

I then made a masking template using the snowflakes die set to decorate my cardstock with ink.
I used the polynesian sail oval and the angel wing and placed the sentiments Happy and birthday in the center.

I then built a flower with Build a flower #2 and added some leaves from the dimensional leaves set #2 small and set #2 large.
Added a few decorations and voilà!
************************************
And i also wanted to show you a card i made for a cardmaker's monthly kit i am DTing for here in France. Of course i used some Cheery Lynn Designs dies there but i also made a tutorial on how to make the lace flower as i received quite many questions about that one so here it is and hope this helps:

Base of the card is XL square stackers and large silver square stackers. I also used the cardmakers' stackers and the english tea party doily and coordinated angel wing.

Inside i placed a XL scalloped circle stackers and a large silver circle stackers. In the top corner you can see a die from the deco lace corner #D set. Holly leaves is placed around the flowers.
Lovely tiny butterflies are placed here and there and the flower is made with lace deco corner #D set.

LACE FLOWER TUTORIAL:

Step 1: cut 5 pieces of lace deco corner #D die in white paper.
Step 2: colour with distress inks.
Step 3: cut the middle part of one diecut like the picture shows.
Step 4: roll around a round stick to shape the flower.
Step 5: glue and here is what you get. Shape the petals gently to the outside using a round brush stick. Do exactly the same steps with a 2nd diecut and glue around the one you just did, shaping petals towards the outside.
Step 6: glue what you achieved on one diecut that you shape towards the outside but don't cut. Then add another layer and shape gently towards the outside but less than before and do end with the last diecut that you use as is. And voilà! Pretty cool isn't it?

Cheery Lynn Designs is giving away a $25 Gift Certificate to their store and Hampton Art is giving away this lovely package to some lucky winner.

Now onto my project for this week with the fabulous products from Cheery Lynn Designs and Hampton Arts:

I decided to make a booklet card this week with a vintage feeling. The front of the card is about 13,8x11,5cm. I used the angel wing english tea party doily as Jodi showed you a few weeks ago to create my aperture.
The flower is made with the Lace corner deco D set and decorated with a brad and some flower soft powder. I also added the holly flourish die that i cut in several  pieces.
The stamp is called "reindeer collage" PS0484A and is from Hampton Art. The frame is done using size 2 (1 being the smallest) of the Mini pearl rectangle mega doily set and adjusted to the size i needed.
Opening the card, there is the O Tannenbaum X-mas tree die and the holly flourish on the right side.
On the left side, is a holly flourish adornated with the small flowers from Build A Flower embellishment #2 set.
I chose to give a little 3D effect to my tree by adding some 2mm 3D pads and pearls.
Opening once more, here is what you have.
Fantastic Hydrangeas collage (PS0528) from Hampton Art using Colorbox "chestnut roan".
The flower is made using the inside flowers of the Manon's wedding garland set and a piece of holly flourish.
And on the right side, i made a pocket using Mini pearl rectangle mega doily size 1 and adornating it with paper from Foofala, holly flourish and  Build A Flower embellishment #2 set.
The stamp "Distressed Merry christmas" (PS0461A) from Hampton Art is stamped with colorbox "chestnut roan" and placed on a frame made with mini pearl rectangle mega doily size 1. The background paper is from Graphic 45.

Don't forget for your chance to win the $25 Cheery Lynn Gift Certificate or the package from Hampton Art, you must leave a comment on all the blogs........and check back each day for another fabulous creation from the teams, the more you enter, the better your chances.

Lots of love from France, Kianel.
