Celebrate Easter with Cheryl Walker

1:00 AM 1 Comments
Hello Crafty Friends, Cheryl here with a sweet Pop Up Easter Card designed for Cheery Lynn Designs using some super darling dies they carry. LOVE the sweet bunny and chicks together, aren't they just darling???!!!! I think I used 9 Cheery Lynn Dies on this one...hehehe I really had a lot of fun designing this card to share with you all!

On my card I started with cutting the sweet bunny out using design papers for her. Next I did distress her and her dress.  She is so cute, love her! I will use her on other cards, not just for Easter. She does have one of the Tiny Flowers made from the tiny flower die. The chicks were cut using white card stock and then colored in with 2 yellow Copic markers. I can totally see them cut in a yellow batik or some kinda 2 tone yellow print card stock, and then distressed, that would be so cute. I did add eyes using the Viva Pearl Pen in black. Also another flower on one of the chicks.

Greenery was cut using the Olive branches and Flourish #3 dies, and cut with a olive tone card stock. I added little flowers made using the Tiny Flower kit to the greenery. I also used a LOVE Heart from the Sweetheart Candy die.

The frame was cut using 2 different dies for my scenery and sentiment. I chose to use the beautiful Mirror Mirror Doily Frame die, and the Scandinavian Oval Doily. Sentiment is from ODBD.

Cherish Each Passing Moment by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Happy New Year, it's JULIE here today and I am sharing some Vintage inspiration using a selection of the beautiful Dies we have available.

Using Craft Consortiums Wild Rose paper pad I started by tattering a few layers of my papers and added onto my card with foam strips. I love the intricate details on my diecut frame to which I added some Frantage powders to give an elegant Shabby look to it.

My Flowers have all been built up with 4 layers, shaping with my fingers and adding sparkly gems into the centres, layering onto my flourishes and adding some tiny dried flowers for another detail.

Finishing my card off with a stamped fussy cut ticket, a lace ribbon and an embellishment.

Christmas Tags with Maggi

3:30 AM 0 Comments

We all need quick this time of year and I've got just the project for you!  Bonus, it's a project you can have fun making with the kids too.  Just die cut a variety of shapes with Cheery Lynn Designs dies, assemble into cute little tags and you've got quick, but oh so cute gift tags that will give your gifts, that extra special something.

On this tag I used two ovals from the Oval Scalloped LG Stackers Nesting Dies 6 Piece Die Set and topped that with a Christmas tree diecut with the Christmas Tree Shaker Die.  The "to & from" words were die cut with the To And From Gift Envelope set.  Then I punched a hole at the top, added an eyelet and ribbon and it's ready to go.  Gift tags need to be quick and easy and this sure fits the bill.

Here's another tag that is built on a white scalloped oval diecut with the Oval Scalloped LG Stackers Nesting Dies.   Then I layered on a red  Royal Scandinavian Oval Doily, next a blue layer cut with Nesting Doll- Oval #2 5 Piece Die Set and finally topped with Patches The Snowman .

Now this moose is one of my favorites!  He's from the Merry Christmoose set.  He's layered over patterned paper die cut with the French Flair Pierce And Cut Tool  and the red cardstock base is die cut with the Horizon French Flair Boutique Stacker Frames.

Here's a view of the back of each tag.  The fun thing about tags is that you can use your scraps.   All my scraps are from Graphic 45's Winter Wonderland collection and I was so happy to have a used for all those little pieces of my cherished Graphic 45 papers!

Just For You by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Hi, it's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out. Glad to see you here. Today I am sharing a card with flowers. To me flowers always make for a beautiful card to give to that someone special.
I started the base of this card by embossing it with the Hearts and Rose Leaves Embossing Plate .
It is always nice to have that extra texture on the base of your cards.
I then layered the Royal Scandinavian Oval Doily  to one side of the card and the Southern Charm Valance Die  at the top and bottom of the card.
The Mini Flourish One  was used as a background for the flowers and leaves.  The flowers are the Chrysanthemum Strip inked up with distress inks for color. The leaves were cut from the Build a Flower #2  and tucked in behind the flowers. A pearl was placed in the center of each flower to finish them off .
I cut the sentiment "Just For You" from the Just For You Oval Die  . I then traced the outer edge of the die onto the purple paper and fussy cut it out to place behind the sentiment. The XOXOXO were placed along the bottom of the sentiment.

I would like to thank you for visiting the blog today and for the comments you leave. I hope I have inspired you to play with some of Cheery Lynn Designs flowers. They have a huge variety of flower dies to choose from.

Maggi with a layout for you

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Greetings Cheery Lynn fans!  I'm sharing a layout today that I did using Maja Design's Summertime collection.  I am a sucker for anything that resembles red, so this paper screamed at me!

Here's a fun way to use your oval dies in a different way to make a scalloped border.  I used the Royal Scandinavian Oval Doily 2 Piece Die Set  to diecut 2 ovals.  Then I cut them in half and placed them just under the floral border piece making a really pretty decorative border.  You can make a border like this with either circular or oval dies.

My layouts have to have flowers and leaves, lots of them!  I made large roses using the 3D Rose 1 Die  and then smaller roses with Medium- Rose 7 Piece Die Set.   I always ink the edges of my flowers to give the petals some depth.

I also made some red "black eyed susans" with our  Black Eyed Susan Strip 5 Piece Die Set.  Aren't they pretty, I bet they'd look great on a Christmas project.

One of my favorite leaf dies is Flourish #14 2 Piece Die Set and I've used it here.  I added a little Lindy's Starburst mist just to give the leaves some shimmer and vary the color abit.

I added a popped up layer underneath my photo with a diecut from the  Pierced Stacker 3 - 6 Piece Die Set  and at the top I added a pretty scalloped striped layer cut with A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped 7 Piece Die Set .

Spooky Ghosts by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a Halloween card inspired by some ornaments I saw in a craft store.  I thought Cheery Lynn's doilies made a perfect background.  I'll probably make more to hang on my mantel or from my chandelier but this one I thought I'd add to a card.

I created the background by taking an A2 sized top fold card base and adding black card stock and then a layer of green polka dot card stock on top.  The Cheery Lynn Dot background that I used in my New Year's card HERE would achieve a similar look.  I ran a strip of purple dotted paper a third of the way down for a little added interest before gluing the doily.

The edges of the black Royal Scandinavian Oval Doily sparkle with black glitter glue as do the edges of the ghosts' wings from the Ultimate Halloween Set.  The oval popped up with foam adhesive was cut using the smallest oval from the Classic Oval Stackers set.  I cut the heads of the ghosts twice so I could put in black faces.

Christmas Canvas

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hello.  It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out with you today. I would like to take the time to thank everyone who left a comment on my last post. It was nice to hear from you.  This is a canvas that I have used a wood grain stencil, gesso, gelatos and distress inks on to give it a  barn board look.

Each year I try to come up with a new idea for a new Christmas decoration. This canvas will look beautiful hanging on a wall or standing on a easel.

The Clock w/Angel Wing is off to the right cut in black and using Inka Golds to color it up giving it a metal look. This clock is one of my favorite CLD dies.  The Old Barn Board  was used as a base to layer the Merry Christmas  on to. The  Hinges were added to the edge of the barn board.

Here I layered the image, the Oval Classic - Silver Stackers  and the Royal Scandinavian Oval Doily as my focal point. I added the  Whistle a Happy Tune  colored with Inka  Golds. The Poinsettia 2  was layered using the greenery off the Merry Christmas  around it. The tag with 2015 is from the Love Tags . I placed the Garden Bench  in the bottom corner with one of the tiny flowers from the Tiny Flower Kit . Again I used the Inka Golds on the wrought iron of the bench. I added a few white dots here and there to give it a snowy look. Well that is it for this week. I hope I have inspired you to play with a canvas.

Please come and join our weekly challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. The theme this week is "Anything Goes".
                                                             Have a crafty week.

A Little Birthday Wish Card by Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hi friends.  It's Bonnie from Make Time to Craft filling in for Amy today with a birthday card featuring some great doily and flower dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
I love to use Stick It! adhesive on all my intricate die cuts.  It's a very thin adhesive that you apply to the back of your cardstock before cutting the die.  You just peel and stick the adhesive to the back side of your cardstock.  Then place your die on the right side of the paper and cut as usual.  When your are ready to attach the die cut to your card or project, simply peel off the backing and position the die where you want it.  The great thing is, the adhesive does not 'grab' immediately, so you have time to play with the positioning.  When you are satisfied, simply press down firmly with your fingers or a small brayer to permanently adhere it.
My roses were created using the Large, Medium and Miniature Rose dies from Cheery Lynn Designs. I cut the pieces from dark purple cardstock and marbled momi paper, shaped the petals and created the flowers.  The great thing about making your own flowers is they will always perfectly match your project.  I topped the card off with a pretty double-loop bow with ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
