If The Shoe Fits....with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi.  It's Lisa back today sharing a new card for Cheery Lynn Designs!  I really had NO idea what I wanted to do this week since the challenge is "Anything Goes".  However, I recently received the "Dainty Dutch Deco Frame" and I wanted to use it soon.  I actually wasn't going to make a Halloween card even though it is really right around the corner....but then I received the beautiful "Women's Shoe" and thought of making it red. Hence the title"If The Shoe Fits".  I printed up the sentiment and then die-cut it out with "Royal Scandinavian Tag 2".  I die-cut it out again in black and placed it behind the white for a shadow.

The background paper has bats with red eyes. So I thought why not red bats with black eyes? The bats are part of the "Bat Family" I die-cut three to balance the red of the elegant high heel shoe. I then found this witch online with height heels on her feet and fussy cut her out.

A closer view with some pop dots under the shoe, witch, sentiment and bats.

Wishing You Sunny Days by Karen Maldonado

3:30 AM 7 Comments

Hello there sweet Cheery Lynn friends!

It's Karen here, sharing my "anything goes" challenge car.  Today, marks two years since I became a Cheery Lynn Designs Team Member.  It's very bittersweet posting my last blog entry for this amazing company!  On that note, I thought this sentiment was fitting for expressing my gratitude for all your lovely comments throughout my term here as DT member.  If you happen to follow my blog, I will still be promoting the use of these gorgeous and intricate dies!

I love to layer, so basically, I started with the French Flair Classic Silver Stacker die as my base.  Next, layered the Horizon Fishtail Banner right on top of the French Flair piece.  Then, I  die cut the Pierced Stacker #2 and stamped my sentiment.  I layered this onto the Circle Classic Silver Stacker,
and then place it onto the Daphne Doily! You will notice that I intentionally left some of the pieces within the doily for a slightly different look.

Then, I made a blue daisy using the Daisy Strip! I die cut the Leafy Flourish and Leaf sets and placed them both underneath my flower. I added a sweet rhinestone flourish as well!  Lastly, I cut out one of the butterflies from my Small Exotic Butterflies set, and added a few shiny pearls.

Thank you card by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi there, this is Eva, and I have a pretty fall related card to share with you, since the season is here.  This week's challenge is anything goes, so I figured, it's perfect time for this.

To create this card I started with an A2 size card out of black card stock, than cut a smaller sized patterned to fit on it.  Next I die cut a Royal Scandinavian Doily out of black card stock and backed it up with the same size patterned paper.  Next I die cut a Curved Border Set out of red card stock and added it the bottom and top of the patterned paper and added my doily.

Next I die cut two Sunflower dies and colored the flower petals in.  I die cut a Flourish #14 and a  Leafy Flourish and added it to my flower. Finally I die cut a Thank You #2 sentiment and added to my card front.

Here is the list of the Cheery Lynn dies I used to create this card with:

Thanks for stopping by today and Good Luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge.

Make a Wish by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, it's JULIE here today. Thanks so much for all your lovely comments on my Halloween card last week, it was lovely to read them. This week I was inspired by the image of this little Sailor boy to make a nautical themed card.

My Lighthouse was cut out twice in blue Cardstock and once in white. I layered the White cardstock on to the blue, slightly offsetting for a shadow effect and distressed with ink at the edges. Next I fussy cut my blue stripes out and glued in place. I coloured the roof on the house with a brown Copic pen.
My Anchor was coloured with a brown and gold pen and a little Distress powder added for a rust effect.

I love the different designs you can get from the Lady Kate Edger and you can move it right along whatever your length of paper matching up as you go.

Finishing off my card with some Pearls.

Be Bold Card by Corina Finley

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hello Cheery Lynn Crafters!

Corina here with you today to host the blog and share this weeks card! So lets get to the steps I used to create this card.

I started with a white cardstock base, added a layer on top using a die from the A2 Frames Rectangular in grey polka dot pattern paper, and corner rounded the right top and bottoms corners of each. I cut a layer from white text pattern paper and cut my matte using a die from the A2 Frames Rectangular in black cardstock. The vertical strip was from the same text pattern paper and matted in black cardstock.

I cut three circles using the Circle Classic - Silver Stackers die set. One in black cardstock, one in floral grey & white pattern paper and one in the turquoise small polka dot pattern paper. I cut the Candy Hearts Doily also from the turquoise small polka dot pattern paper, added the larger black cardstock circle to the back of the Doily and the turquoise small polka dot circle to the front.

On the black Polynesian Sails Mini Doily, I added my flowers and leaves. I layered these elements on to the card front and tucked in the thin border from the Deutschland Border Set. I added my sentiment to the circles and I was finished!

Fall Thank You by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Good Morning!  It's Jenny posting today with a fall card.  I was planning on using a lace die for this week's challenge but this Mesh Border die just called to me instead.  It reminded me of a fall table runner my sister had on her table recently.

I used an A2 dark red card base and then glued a piece of white card stock on top.  I used the Mesh Border die that I cut with kraft paper and glued it down.  The I added leaves cut with the Dimensional Small Leaves #2 die.  The shading and color blending was all done with a cosmetic sponge and distress ink.  I arranged the leaves and tacked them down to the card with double sided adhesive tape.

I then cut the Thank You #2 three times and glued the layers together.  The dark red paper is heavy weight and three layers together make the die cut look like chipboard.

Hello Pumpkin With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello Everyone! Its Lisa here today sharing with you a new card inspired by this week's challenge "Lace" with Cheery Lynn Designs. I wanted to make a pumpkin and well, it kind of turned out a bit different than I imagined. You every have that happen to you? The colors are a bit bright but I wanted it to match the background papers. The pumpkin was made using 5 of the smallest ovals from "Oval Stitch and Cut Tool" I just layered them together and Ta Da Large Pumpkin. The Leaves in green and the cream leaves on the bottom are "Flourish #14" along with the large "Flourish #4"

On the bottom, I used "Grass Border" and I added a few stamps with Kraft Cardstock. The stem for the pumpkin was clip art off the internet. I resized it to match my pumpkin size. Real "Lace" was placed in the center of the card.

Here you can see a closer view of the beautiful details of the ovals, grass and leaves.

A Lifetime Together by Karen Maldonado

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Welcome Cheery Lynn friends!  It's Karen here sharing my version
of this week's challenge "Lace (real or faux)" Anniversary card.

I started by layering several strips of paper across my 4.25 x 7 card.
I tore some of the top and bottom pieces and ink distressed.
Then, I tucked layers of the Dancing Doily Lace Border
and  Siena Double Edge Border (which are both my faux 'lace strips')!

Then, I made a big Stacker Flower 6, and using the long strip from the
Black Eyed Susan Strip die, I made a center of my flower!
I tucked two of the  Dandelions flowers beneath the flower,
and layered a few  Tropical Leaves, and that's it!!

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi there, it's Eva again and this week's challenge is Lace, so I have a lacey doily card for you.

To create my card I started out with a card base of a 5.5" square.  I die cut the largest die using the Square Stitch and Cut Tool out of black card stock, than I cut a 5.5" square panel using a kraft corrugated card stock.  Than I die cut a Dutch Scallop Square out of light blue card stock and laid it on the middle.  I die cut the Faith Hope & Love sentiment out of cream card stock and placed it in the middle of my frame.

Next I die cut two Chrysanthemum Strips out of a light and dark pink card stock and created my flower and added a pearl in the middle.  Than I die cut Flourish #14 out of green card stock and the flourish part of the Japanese Garden Lace Oval with Angel Wing die out of black card stock and built my flower cluster.

Who Ate The Spider ! by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Hi Everyone, It's JULIE here today. I am having so much fun with the Halloween Dies creating little scenes on my cards that I just had to share another one with you.

My background was created with Hickory Smoke and Stormy Sky and a Spiders Web Stencil.

My  Washing Line and Moon were cut out in White Cardstock and coloured with Copics adding a little bling on to the Witches shoes.

My Tombstone was also cut out in White Cardstock and shaded with Distress inks. My Barbed Wire was heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder and a little Rust Coloured Stazon ink added to it.

As you can see my very naughty Horrible Cat ate the Spider off the web ! I cut my cat out in Black Cardstock and trimmed his head and front legs off. I then glued the body part in to a sitting position and placed a little Silicone Glue on to the back of his head and re positioned it for added dimension. My Spider I trimmed his legs down a little bit in an uneven way so they had a chewed look to them.

Hello Card with Corina Finley

12:30 AM 1 Comments

Hello! Happy Friday!

Corina here with you today to host the Cheery Lynn Blog. I have been showcasing Christmas Cards and Well Wishes Cards these past few weeks. Today is an "All Occasion" type card which was inspired by this weeks challenge Things with Wings - here on the Cheery Lynn Blog.

When I saw the pattern paper - I just knew I wanted to use the cute Bee Die. Perfect Combo! I pulled a few more dies from my Die albums (how I store my dies - which I will share in the future!) and started to create!

I layered the Italian Flourish Tiny Doily on top of the Polynesian Sails Mini Doily. I then die cut a small and medium Tea Rose - inked and sprayed each and added the trio leaf that cuts out with each of the Tea Rose strip.

I think that Bee works perfectly! So easy to colour because it comes with the coordinating solid background die. I cut the top detailed layer from black cardstock and cut the back die in white. I coloured the white die cut and adhered the black detailed die cut on top. Added some glitter to make the wings sparkle!

My top right hand corner needed something! I cut the Tag from scraps left over of the pattern paper and cut the smallest of the Horizon Fishtail Banners.  I trimmed the banner to fit and added the flower, leaf and rhinestones.

Here is a closer view of the floral arrangement, Bees and sentiment banner.

Dream Big with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a card that evolved from a piece of patterned paper.  The paper is covered in blue-green, orange and pink circles.  I tried to match the same colors in the flowers, words and butterfly.

I first cut the Mirror Mirror Doily Frame with green patterned paper and turned it sideways.  I cut a center out of a cream card stock that matched the 5.5" card base and layered it on top, popped up with foam adhesive.  I added the Dream Big Phrase and the butterfly from Small Exotic Butterflies #2 and colored them with pink distress ink.

The white flowers were cut using the Shasta Daisy die and shaped by using a stylus and molding mat on the centers..  The little orange-pink Sweet Christine flowers were tucked into the arrangement and glued using a double sided tape.  I added rhinestone and pearl centers to the flowers. The leaves are from the Flourish Leaf Strip and were colored with distress ink.

Tombstone With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi, Its Lisa back this week with a new and easy card to make for Halloween! I used only 2 pieces of plain cardstock too. I wanted to make something for this week's challenge "Things With Wings", I thought, why not bats! LOL I have seen a few tombstone shaped cards out there and I thought again...you don't need a special diecutting machine. All you need is a large circle diecut from Cheery Lynn Designs. I used the largest of the "Silver Stackers" I placed just part of the diecut on top of my paper and ran it partially through the diecutting machine to give it the top curve. I did that in black and once again in grey, .25 inches smaller each time. This card was originally cut at 5 x 6 inches, and now it is bit smaller, 5 x 5.75

I added "Home Sweet Home", "Spooky Tree", "The Raven" from "Tomb Stone" "Bat Family" in black cardstock. The the smallest circle from "Silver Stackers" for the moon and 2 "Ornamental Gate" (partially cut off the bottom) in white cardstock. Lastly, I added a small sentiment and fussy cut it out and placed with pop dots on top of the "Spooky Tree" I love how the "Spooky Tree" and the "Home Sweet Home" small tree compliment each other.

A closer view, NO patterned paper...only dotted embossed grey cardstock.
Easy and fast to make!

Blessed Friendship by Karen Maldonado

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi there Cheery Lynn friends!  Karen sharing a shabby card with you today!

We start by using the Square Classic Silver Stacker for the card base!
Then, using the Dutch Daisy Square Doily, layer it onto the card base.
I added some pop dots for dimension.
Next, I added another smaller square die using the romantic flower designer paper.
Lastly, I used the Royal Scandinavian Tag 2 in pale blue paper,
added the sentiment onto it!  I used pop dots underneath this piece as well!!
I created a few small flowers using the Sweet Christine  in yellow paper, along
with the Flourish #6 laying behind the tag on the top and bottom corners!!

I thought this would make a sweet card to give to a very special friend.

Here's a list of dies used:
