Happy Halloween Friends by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Happy Halloween to all our Cheery Lynn Friends, it's JULIE here today.
For my Halloween card I cut out my stacker layers in Black and Mauve cardstock. I cut my Mauve layer in half so I could slightly offset it for a shadow effect, I also love how it has given a Gothic look to the die cut.
My Twiggy wreath and wording were also shadowed for extra detail and to make my design 'pop'.
I added some glittered gems and my Jack O Lantern to finish.

Give Thanks By Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello. It's Debbie from Debbie' s Time Out. Glad to see you here today. Today I have created a
" Give Thanks" card. I had this beautiful paper with colorful fall leaves in my stash that I thought would be perfect paper for this design that I had in mind.

I cut a couple of mats and then layered the largest of the Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames   cut out of the pattern paper. I cut a couple of Mini Butterflies w Angel Wings  and layered them over the butterflies that were part of the paper pattern to give a 3D effect. I colored some white pearls green with my Copics to match the paper and used glossy accents to add rain droplets on the leaves.

I've just got to show you a close up of the  twiggy wreath that  I used as my focal point. The Happy Halloween Twiggy Wreath   is a great design for making a wreath for any season or occasion. I used two layers of this wreath popping each layer up. I left one crow attached and cut the crow from the second cut and perched him up on the sign. I hung the sign (which I printed from the internet)  from the top of the wreath. What a perfect sentiment for this challenge theme. A few of the branches from the Branch set were inked in fall colors to match and tucked in here and there. A bow finished off the wreath nicely.

Thanks for joining me today.  I now invite you to join our weekly challenge
@ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree.  I will see you next Friday when I will share another project with you. I am sure you will like the design of it.

Have a crafty week my friends!

Debbie

Family Road Trip in the 'Groovy Bus' with Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Greetings from the 1970's!  It's Bonnie from Make Time to Craft filling in for Jenny.  Today we are going retro with Cheery Lynn Designs!
One of the new dies in the October release from Cheery Lynn Designs is this fun retro VW bus.  I had a great piece of purple and blue tie-dye looking paper I created a while back with Color Burst pigment powders from Ken Oliver and I knew it was perfect for this project.  I applied a piece of Stick It Adhesive to the back of a piece of black cardstock and then cut out the Groovy Bus.  Then I fussy cut the dyed paper so it would fit behind the lower part of the die cut.  I added small pieces of yellow for the headlights and grey for the hubcaps and license plate and then added the tie-dye paper.  I love the way it came out.  I created a road with grey cardstock and put a few blades of grass on either side of the van.
I finished my card off with a fun bi-color bow with ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and a fun peace sign button I found in my stash.

Fishing Vest Card With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi everyone! Its Lisa back today sharing this fun fishing vest made using the New October Release with Cheery Lynn Designs. I love the "Fishing Set" because it is great for a man card, but it can also be used for a woman too!

Here you can open the vest. I used "Circle Silver Stackers" for the opening of the arms. The actual size of the card is 5 x 6 inches. Cute lures, fishing pole and a worm are all included with the "Fishing Set"

Lots of fun details on the fishes! I had to add little wiggle eyes! The "Welcome" is also part of the New Release this month.

My Special Day Memory Book by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Good morning to you all.
With the new October release, Cheery Lynn Designs came out with some amazing "Memory Book"dies in different sizes which I really love. Not that I am a great mini album maker but it makes it so much easier to start one. So today I'd like to show one I made it will hold my wedding pictures when I finish the inside as well.

My Special Day:
Last week I showed you a layout I made of little me. I just went along and used that paper line again on this memory book. In the future I'd like to make one for my husband too with different colors and more masculine of course. On the inside I have seven sheets to use and put my pictures on so that's going to be a challenge for me not using so many pictures one project hehe.

I hope you like my memory book. Thank you so much for visiting the blog today.

Home Made Adult Coloring Book by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi there, this is Eva here today.  Did you see our Memory Book dies in our newest release?  Well, that gave me some ideas to create with.  I am sure you have also seen that Adult Coloring books are today's craze, so I thought why not make a home made one?  All you need is the Memory Book dies and some stamps and you are all set!

So to create my book I die cut the binder part from the Memory Book A2 Scallops and Rings set out of light teal color card stock.  Then I die cut the cover pages out of black and since I was going to use watercolors.  I die cut the inside pages using water color card stock, however you can use plain white paper if you want a different coloring method, so you can decide on that.

Then to decorate the outside of my book I die cut one of the dies out of the Coved Rectangle Scalloped LG Stackers Nesting Dies set from water color paper and heat embossed my stamps on it using black embossing powder and colored it in with watercolor.  I added a sentiment and finally a ribbon to tie my book together.

Finally I just created the inside of my coloring book using stamps that lend more toward a coloring book theme, so here are the pages I have in the inside of my little book.  I think this will make a perfect gift for any occasion and imagine making some of these for Christmas.  Possibilities are endless!

Hope you like this little book and it inspires you! :)

Life's A Beach by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Hi everyone, it's JULIE here today and I'm showcasing some more of our wonderful new release dies at Cheery Lynn with this beach scene card which could easily adapt for Memory Books and Scrapbook Pages.
I die cut my Life's a Beach in brown cardstock - notice the fabulous texture of it looking like an old washed up log on a beach, so cool. I mounted onto a piece of white cardstock which I had inked with shades to compliment my card. I then went around the outline of the letters with a Glaze pen to make them 'pop' and added a little twine.
My waves were layered twice adding some shells and a little starfish which I coloured with a Copic Pen.
My Reeds and Cat Tails were cut out in coloured cardstock adding in some dried grass from my stash.

Gone Fishin' by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 3 Comments
A warm hello to everyone. This is Debbie here with you today from "Debbie's Time Out". I hope everyone is enjoying the dies from the new release. Today I am featuring two of the new sets on my card. The Fishing Set (set of 9) - B648 and the Fishing Boat Set (set of 4) - B649.
I started with the base in blue and embossed it with an inked Wood Grain embossing plate. From the Fishing Set  I used the fishing rod, fish, hook and bobber. As you can see I had so much fun with this set. I cut the reel and hook from gold paper which made them so realistic. The thread used for the fishing line made the fishing rod even more realistic. The hook can go right thru the fish's mouth the way the die is made.  I cut the bobber in both red and white and layered the two colors making it so realistic.  A couple of the paddles and the piles are from the Fishing Boat Set . The birds on the piles are from the Bird Bath  set.
The Old Barn Board  with the sentiment Gone Fishin' were paired up with the Ship's Anchor to fill in the top corner. These two new sets I featured will be fantastic for masculine cards. The details in them are amazing.  Now don't forget to check out our weekly challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. I would love to see your creations. Have a crafty week.

Best Teacher with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

It's Jenny posting with a card that could be a quick and simple thank you for teacher appreciation day. I'm a class mom this year for my son's teacher and sometimes I find it difficult to put together teacher cards.  This apple makes such a wonderful focal point on a card and it would be great on a tag or gift bag too.

I began by layering a white piece of cardstock about A2 size on top of a red card base.  Then I cut the Royal Scandinavian Boutique Stacker A2 Frame out of Kraft paper and popped it up using a dimensional foam adhesive.  I glued the design paper to the top.  Then I added the Royal Scandinavian Doily Circle also cut out of kraft paper. The Best Teacher Ever apple was colored with distress ink and I paper pieced in the white words after gluing a backing to the apple.  I colored the little worm with distress ink too.

I love the way these doilies can turn a relatively simple card into a project that doesn't look it at all.

Paris with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi everyone! Its Lisa back this week sharing some more new release dies with you from Cherry Lynn Designs. Ok, I have to tell you that as soon as I saw the "Paris Eiffel Tower" I knew I had to get it for a card to make for my sister! She's LOVES Paris and I can see making this card with so many fun shabby chic and vintage looking projects. Now for the AMAZING new "Royal Scandinavian Boutique".  I layered them over each other with patterned papers in between. There is a bit of black cardstock using "A2 Scalloped Rectangle Frame" I thought it gave it a super nice touch.

The three flowers were made using, one "Medium Rose" and two "Miniature Roses" I distressed the inside with distressing inks and added vintage pearls in the centers. I also added several tiny pearls on the title and the "Eiffel Tower". The cute tiny leaves are called "Flourish #13" They are the perfect size to blend in with the tiny roses. The card was inspired by this week's challenge "Vintage". I love vintage and shabby chic, Its my favorite kind of card to make.

I tend to add papers in the inside of my cards, but not usually more dies...However, I thought this was a perfect card to add the "Bon Appetit" die insiide. I found the sentiment on the computer and played around with an english-french translator...It reads, "Please join us for dinner tonight".  I die cut out another part of the "Royal Scandinavian Boutique" and printed it. Lastly, I had this tiny Eiffel tower stamp and I fussy cut it out.

"Vintage Me" 8x8 Layout by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Hi Lovelies,
It's me Amy and I am back again to join this amazing design team as the "Tuesday"girl hihihi. Today I would like to show you a layout I made, of me when I was just a little cute girl. It's back in 1981 when I was just a three years old. My mom always settled me on the window-ledge with a apple so I could wait for my dad to come home.

Vintage Me:
For this layout I used the pretty "Vintage Autumn Basics"collection by Maja Design.
I really love the thickness of these papers especially for making my own flowers like I did here.
Another thing what's amazing is that the layout's I make for Cheery Lynn Designs are smaller then the ones I normally do.

First I stared by cutting out all the flower petals on my new Big Shot ;-) then I whetted them just with some water. After that I wrinkle them all and squeeze them firmly in my hands to blow dry them after a couple of minutes. Then I layered them to make these flowers.
On this layout I also pasted, sprayed and inked like I did on my last layout for the Black & Orange challenge. When I got my amazing DT package this week I just had to use these cute feathers as leaves they make a great finish on your flower clusters don't you think?

I hope you all like the layout I made as much as I loved making it. Thank you so much for you visit today. If you love the dies Cheery Lynn offers you could always enter the challenge, because you could win a $20 shopping spree at the store. I can't wait to see your work.

Vintage inspired Paris card by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hello, this is Eva here today with a vintage inspired card.  With our new Cheery Lynn dies it was fun to create this little card.

To start out I created an A2 size card base out of light blue color card stock.  Than I die cut the largest die from the Royal Scandinavian Boutique Stacker A2 Frame set with a patterned paper.  Than I die cut the smaller die from the same set using another piece of patterned paper and also cut that using the matching size die from the A2 Frames Rectangular Classic set.

Next I die cut a Ornament #9  using cream color card stock and than the Eiffel tower using the Paris Eiffel Tower Set out of black card stock layered them on my card front.  Finally I die cut the word Paris from the Paris Eiffel Tower Set out of light blue card stock and added it to my card.

Hope you like this little card.  I could see birthday cards, shower cards done with these for sure.

Here is the list of dies I used to create this card:

Thank you for stopping by today and Good Luck to everyone entering in our Weekly Challenge.
