A Fall All Purpose Card by Maggi

3:30 AM 0 Comments
I don't like hot weather so I'm always happy to see summer go. It's fall ya'll!  I'm celebrating with this all occasion fall themed easel card.  I love using die cut shapes for the easel portion of my card and on this card I used the French Flair Pierce And Cut Tool .
Inside that, I used a die from the Horizon French Flair Boutique Stacker Frames set.  It's great how the different Cheery Lynn dies fit together so nicely!
In the center of the card I used the Royal Scandinavian Doily die.  The stickers from Authentique's Harvest collection fit perfecly there.

I made a pretty flower with the Shasta Daisy  die and fall leaves with the Fall Leaves 8 Piece Die Set.

Inside, I used another leaf from the Fall Leaves 8 Piece Die Set, just to accent the sentiment that also acts as a hold for the easel.
Here's a side view of the card where you can see how the easel works.

Christmas Present with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi everyone, It's Lisa back this week with another Christmas card for Cheery Lynn Designs. This week's challenge is "Red and Green" so I had to make another card using the amazing "Poinsettia Strip" I really LOVE this die. It makes the most beautiful poinsettias in a snap! I decided to use the "Holly Flourish" instead of the leaves, they are both beautiful to use on your holiday cards.

The background of the card was made to represent a Christmas gift and then I layered it with the "Royal Scandinavian Doily Circle" It is so delicate and stunning! In the center I used "Circle Pierce and Cut Tool LG Silver" You can see the details below. In the center of the poinsettia I added a red pearl. It takes only minutes to have a beautiful card to send out this holiday.

Mixed Media Christmas Card by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hi Everyone, it's JULIE here today and I'm sharing some Festive Inspiration using the new Royal Scandinavian Doily.
I die cut out my Doily and Corners and heat embossed with a Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder, layering onto my patterned cardstock.
Next I cut out my Candlelight die 3 times, so I had plenty parts to build up my layers for texture. My foliage was shaded with Copics, shaped on my embossing mat and layered up a few times. My Poinsettia was also shaded with Copics, layering in my shaped petals and adding a little Gold Flower Soft to the centre.
My candles were layered twice. On the top section I brushed on some Beeswax which I had melted in my Meltpot. I then added some drips of wax and once set, highlighted with Gilding Wax. My flames were shaded with Copics and some Glossy Accents added onto them.

I do hope you have enjoyed my techniques and feel inspired to try them out on your die cuts.

Best Teacher with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

It's Jenny posting with a card that could be a quick and simple thank you for teacher appreciation day. I'm a class mom this year for my son's teacher and sometimes I find it difficult to put together teacher cards.  This apple makes such a wonderful focal point on a card and it would be great on a tag or gift bag too.

I began by layering a white piece of cardstock about A2 size on top of a red card base.  Then I cut the Royal Scandinavian Boutique Stacker A2 Frame out of Kraft paper and popped it up using a dimensional foam adhesive.  I glued the design paper to the top.  Then I added the Royal Scandinavian Doily Circle also cut out of kraft paper. The Best Teacher Ever apple was colored with distress ink and I paper pieced in the white words after gluing a backing to the apple.  I colored the little worm with distress ink too.

I love the way these doilies can turn a relatively simple card into a project that doesn't look it at all.
