Last Minute Christmas Cheer

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi and good morning everyone :)  Alison here today, sharing a quick and easy card inspired by some beautiful and elegant Cheery Lynn Designs dies.

I have been missing from blog action recently, as I have had a couple of broken fingers, and so this card was made almost with one hand! lol :) Its a good  example of how these great dies can do all the work, and you can still create a stunning and effective card even if you dont have a lot of time.

I layered Forever Friends papers onto bazzil card, and also used a pre-made Forever Friends decoupage for the centre.  I cut  the ever-so pretty Daphne Doily die, and stuck 3 delicate Snowflowers and the Holly Flourish die with pearls for a finishing touch.

As you can see, pretty simple, but very cute!

All dies used on this card are:

DL264 - Daphne Doily Die
DL226 - Snowflowers Set 2
B184 - Holly Corner

Thanks so much for visiting our blog today, and I hope you find time to enter our challenge this week where our theme is Sparkle and Shine.

Have a smashing week!

Snowflake Ornaments!!

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a quick and easy tutorial on creating snowflake ornaments from Cheery Lynn's fabulous doilies! For each ornament cut 2 of your favorite doily, 2 of the smallest horizon circle boutique stacker, 1 of the large horizon boutique stacker and I cut a circle about a half inch smaller than the total doily to build my snowflake on. I used a brushed silver card stock for my doilies and a bright white card stock for the rest of the dies. You could use whatever color combinations you prefer.

Cheery Lynn Dies used

For each doily, fold in half and then in half cross wise--folding the back side to the inside.
Then folding the opposite direction--back side out--fold at the eighths. Do this for the little horizon circle boutique dies as well...they fit inside your big doilies.

In one of the valley folds, snip with scissors to the center point. you will have a piece that looks similar to above [this one is upside down as the flaps are the actual valleys]

When you have two doilies completed they will form a 3 dimensional doily like this--before being glued down. This is the Lilith Doily.

Here is the Candy Hearts doily ready to go!

You are ready to center your doily on the plain circle and glue down your valleys. Next glue down your small folded horizon circle boutique diecuts that you have prepared into the center. You do not have to match the seams of the doilies below--in fact I think it looks a little better when you do not. Adhere the entire piece to the large horizon circle boutique diecut. As an embellishment, add a button to the center. You could also add glitter or handmade flowers or a photo! Punch a hole for a string and attach a string to add it to your tree or garland. These are great  to give away as gifts as well--you can personalize the back with a hand written note and the year!

I hope you enjoy making your own doily ornaments! Thank you for stopping by!!

Merry and Bright with Rhonda

3:30 AM 5 Comments
Happy Monday, it's Rhonda here today to host the blog for you.  How was your weekend?  Did you get much shopping, crafting or baking done?  As you can see by my photo's below it was really snowing here in Minnesota.

I took a bit of time to do some crafting of course.  I've got a card to share today inspired by our challenge this week, "Red and Green".

"Merry and Bright" (A2 sized card)

I started with the Kiwi Spirit Doily and layered it with the Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker that I turned vertically.  Next you'll see the Sophie's Heart Mini peeking out.  On top of it is the smallest Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker in a horizontal position that I attached with foam dots, then topped with the Sentiment Frame 1.

Tags 4 were used to tuck under my sentiment frame for an added fun touch.  I cut the holly leaves apart from my Mega Holly Flourish and tucked them into my border, then added a little bling for the berries.

I hope you are able to join us for our "Red and Green" challenge this week, remember there's a $20 gift certificate prize to be won!  We always enjoy seeing your beautiful creations with our dies.

Have a super crafty Monday!
