Sending Love to You

3:30 AM 6 Comments
** Don't forget our Anything Goes themed challenge is still open through February 3rd **

Hello friends.  It's Bonnie here today from Make Time to Craft.  I don't get to post too often on the Cheery Lynn Blog, but you can head over and visit my blog for more fabby Cheery Lynn projects.  I've been loving the pink this month and today I have a romantic card with a lacy open card front.
It's no secret that I love the frame dies.  For this card I wanted a partial open card front so I created an A2 top fold card base and positioned my Honeycomb Frame die on the front of the card and ran it through my die cutter.  For this particular die, it only cuts the holes, it does not cut the rectangular outline of the die.  If you have one that does cut around the outside, you can just position your cutting plate so it does not cut that upper line where the top fold is.  To adhere your image panel, you can just adhere it to the front of the card and then cut a panel 1/8" smaller for the backing and all the adhesive will be in between the two pieces.
I stamped my sentiment on ivory cardstock and used the Pierced Banners dies to cut it out.  This die is dove tailed on one end and square on the other.  If you want the dove-tail on both sides, simply cut it half way, then turn the die around and position it lining up the holes along the sides and cut the other half.

I topped off my image panel with a simple double-loop bow made with Fantasy Rose Diamond Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Sometimes an understated bow is the perfect embellishment.

Cool Dude by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi everyone, it's JULIE here today and I'm sharing a card using the New Release words Cool Dude. Let me take you through my techniques.

My centre die cuts were all layered twice for a shadow effect. My Palm tree was shaded with Copics and a little Distress Stickles added to leaves. My wording and arrow were all heat embossed with Red Tinsel Embossing Powder to make them stand out within my design.

I re-inserted my letters to the surf board after heat embossing them in the same way as above.

Potted Sunflower

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Hello.  It's Debbie here from Debbie's Time Out.  Today I am featuring the new Sunflower Set  as well as a few other new dies. The Cheery Lynn Designs new release had so many beautiful dies and they are so easy to work with to make beautiful cards very quickly.
For my base I started with the Rectangle Scalloped LG Purple Stackers  and then layered a beige paper next that I embossed with the Black Eyed Susans. A little ink on the embossing makes it pop a bit more. I then made a frame with the Rectangle Stitch and Cut Tool  by cutting the center out of it and then popped it up. The new Deutschland Square Doily  was tucked in behind the frame with the Deutschland Tag  layered off to the side. The corners are from the new Deutschland Accents. The accents, tag and flower pot were all cut in black and then Inka Golds were added to give them a metal look. These new accents and tags are a nice addition to match up with previously release designs from Cheery Lynn Designs.
Here is a close up of the new Sunflower Set  that was potted in one the  new Flower Pots . All the detail in the sunflower is just amazing. With a little distress ink and a stylus to shape it a bit it will turn out beautifully with hardly any work.

I appreciate that you stopped by to check out my creation. Thanks again to those who take the time to leave a comment. It is always nice to hear what you think.

I would like to invite you now to join our challenge @http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge. The theme is "Anything Goes".
I would love to see your creations.

Mixed Media Frame by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hello!  It's Jenny here with you today.  Since the current challenge theme is Anything Goes I thought I'd make something different than a card.  This is a picture frame made out of chipboard.  I've never created anything like this before so I took lots of photos along the way.

First I cut three pieces of thin chipboard to 5.5" square.  I cut the middle out of two of the three pieces using two different sizes of the Scalloped Square Stackers.  The two pieces with square windows will be used to double mat the central image and the whole square is for the back of the frame.

I painted the frame with the larger square opening with a clear matte gesso.  When the gesso was dry I glued elements from the new Quadrafoil Accents die set (also cut out of chipboard) on top and then painted the entire frame with a metallic distress paint.  I wasn't worried about the paint being even because I planned to cover it.

I sponged black distress ink on top because I wanted contrast and an antique feel.  The crackle paste I used suggested a black color base.  There was still a metallic sheen to the frame.

I covered the frame with white Crackle paste, leaving less on the raised Quadrafoil Accents so they'd show up more.  I didn't worry about neatness.  Variations makes the crackle interesting when dry.

My heat tool unfortunately went on strike so while I was waiting I added clear crackle glaze to the edges of the flowers.  The large flower was created using the Stacker Flower 5 die.  The smaller roses are from the Tea Rose Medium die.  They were colored with distress ink and sprayed with shimmery mists.

Once the crackle glaze was dry and I moved around the flowers a bit to determine placement.

The sentiment paired well with the vibrant flowers but everything felt too bright so I added brown distress ink to the frame and flowers.

The second piece of chipboard with the smaller window was colored with bronze metallic paint.  I sandwiched a piece of clear acetate from toy packaging between the two chipboard mats before gluing the chipboard together.

I added a stand to the third piece of chipboard so the frame can stand independently.  The chipboard was thin so I cut and glued two pieces together to create the stand and scored and folded the top.

Brads connect the stand to the frame.  I punched two small holes through the top part of the stand as well as through the back of the frame and then threaded two brads through the holes.

Last in the assembly, I glued the front of the frame to the back only gluing around the bottom and sides, leaving the top open in case I want to change the image inside.  I put heavy books on top to hold the chipboard together while it dried.

The Fern Leaves were coated with a sepia gloss and I adhered the flowers and leaves to the frame with the same glaze.

Beautiful with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi everyone! I'm back today sharing a new card using some more January New Release Cheery Lynn Designs dies. I layered the "sunflower" twice and crimped the leaves. In the center, I added brown gala glitz. It really makes it shine. The frame edge " Lords & Commons" matched the swirls on the "flower pot". Behind the "flower pot", I added some yellow cardstock and on top added "Beautiful"in yellow for my sentiment.

You can see the details in the leaves and the stem of the sunflower. I added pop dots behind the flower and flower pot. The yellow patterned paper was die cut with "A2 rectangle" It is a perfect match on the "Lords & Commons" die. Easy and fast card to cheer up someones day!

Precious Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:00 AM 3 Comments
Hi lovelies,
As winter is not trying it's best to be very cold and snowy here in The Netherlands!
I am longing for those warm day's already....so for today's post I used the pretty "Frolic"collection by the Blue Fern Studios to make a summery card.
It's totally in contrast to what I posted on my Facebook page yesterday lol.
As much as I love to make winter projects I also love fluttery summer and spring projects.
I did a lot of stitching one this card which I love to do.

Precious:
Every time I see this word it makes me giggle inside because of the movie "The Lord of the Rings"with Smeagol saying "My Precious"talking to the ring hihihi.
This was a really fun and easy card to make if you want to know you can always email me and ask!
You can find my email address on my blog but now let's have a closer look:
First I cut out the largest die of the CM6 - A2 Frames Rectangle Scalloped as the base of my card and I also cut out the third one from the inside out to layer my text on. As you can see on my card I stitched on it as I do on most of my projects....with the machine though because it's way faster.
I really love all the flower dies by Cheery Lynn and the B324 - Poinsettia Strip which I used here is no exception,  Normally I make my flowers more shabby but this time I only curled the leaves to give it more dimension.

In my Thoughts Card by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi there, this is Eva here today and since we have so much snow in parts of the US, I wanted to create a spring card to remind everyone that it's coming.  This week's challenge is Anything Goes, so it was fun to create just about anything with some gorgeous brand new release dies.

To create this card I started out with cutting an A2 size card out of white card stock.  Then I cut a smaller rectangle panel out of a patterned paper and added it to my card front.  Next I die cut a Fleur De Lis Square Doily out of white card stock and using pop dots I added it to my card.  Next I die cut a Quadrafoil Tag out of pink card stock, than an Oval out of white card stock and stamped my sentiment on it and paper pieced it in the middle of my tag die ad using pop dots I added it to my doily.

Next I worked on creating my flowers.  For this card I die cut two Tea Rose Medium out of pink card stock and built them, I also die cut four Sweet Christine flowers out of yellow card stock and once I built them, I added a little black pearl in the middle of them.  And finally I die cut four

Ivy Strip dies to add to my flower clusters and added them in the corners of my doily.

Hope you like this spring inspired card and here is the list of the Cheery Lynn Designs dies I used to create it with:

Fleur De Lis Square Doily - DL318

Thank you for stopping by and hope to see you cards in our newest challenge.

Hugs,
Eva

Just Married by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, it's JULIE here and firstly I would like to thank you all for your lovely visits and comments on my blog during the blog hop, you really made my day. Today I am sharing a Wedding card using the New Release words 'Just Married'. Let me take you through my techniques used on this card.

I used pearlised cardstock for my stacker layers and used a Silver Pen to shade all my Silver accents and scalloped layers. My top stacker layer I embossed with my Hearts Embossing Plate.

My Bride I glued on an overlay of lace and once dry replaced back into my Die to trim off the excess lace. I shaded the Happy Couple with Distress Inks and added some Bling and a Floral Bouquet.

My Chandelier was coloured with a Silver Pen and a little touch of Gold Gilding wax on the Tassles. For my candles I painted on a little Beeswax I had melted in my Meltpot, the flames were shaded with Copics and a touch of Glossy Accents added. Finishing it off with lots of bling.

With Love

3:30 AM 0 Comments

It's Debbie here with you today from Debbie's Time Out. Glad to see you here. I thought I would share another card with you using two more of the newly released dies.  And since Valentine's Day is just around the corner I decided to create a Valentine card.

I used some nice heart paper for the background and then layered the Oval Stitch and Cut Tool   , Fleur De Lis Oval Doily  and the Cupid in that order. I added the Branch in the bottom corner along with the Dandelions for the tiny flowers. For the top corner I cut the Heart and Arrow and stamped a sentiment on it. I then popped it up over the doily.

Here is a close up of the Fleur De Lis Oval Doily  and Cupid. It really is amazing what a little distress ink can do when used on the die cuts.

I hope I have inspired you and that you will join the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge for a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. The theme this week is "Sweethearts".

Thanks for stopping by today and a big thanks to all those who left comments for the Blog Hop. The comments were very much appreciate. Have a wonderful crafty week.

Sweetheart by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hello!  It's Jenny here today.  Thank you to all who left comments on my blog during last week's blog hop.  I hope you had the chance to see all the beautiful projects my teammates created showcasing the new dies.

This card fits this week's challenge theme.  I just love this adorable little bear and he fit so nicely into the new film die.  It's so simple to change around the colors of the heart he holds and the little accents on his feet and ears.  I backed his ears and nose with pink paper and glued in the little red hearts on his feet and the red heart in his hands.

I used the Deutschland Boutique Stacker for the background layer.  I often use this stacker.  It's interesting and lacy without being too frilly when I want an elegant touch.  The heart and arrow die was cut three times (in white, red and pink).  The arrow was colored black with a copic marker and I snipped sides off the red and pink die cuts to paper piece the red swirls and pink ribbon banner.  Last I piled a few of the sweetheart candy dies on top of the heart in his arms.

Hi everyone! It's Lisa here again today sharing a new card for Cheery Lynn Designs using more of the January 2016 New Release. On the "sweetheart candy" I used a white Signo pen to highlight the die fonts. I then printed "you are" on white cardstock and die cut it with "dutch daisy tag" The "sweet" is new too and there are two sizes. This one is the smaller of the two dies. Behind the tag is the "dutch daisy oval doily" that matches perfectly with the tag. In the center, I used the smallest of the "oval stitch tool"

Here are some cute tea lights using the mini cupcake holder. On the bottom I cut the smallest of the "circle pierce" twice for the base. It is a perfect fit for the tea lights and can be used for several occasions besides yummy cupcakes!
