Kraft Doily Card by Ginny Nemchak

3:00 AM 1 Comments

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here to share a card I created inspired by the Cheery Lynn Designs Large Sunflower Doily. I cut it out with Kraft paper and new instantly that it would look fabulous layered with creamy whites paper patterns.  To anchor the warmer color of the doily I used a Kraft card base cut 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. To add texture and depth I used the Tonic Distressing Tool to tatter the edges  and spacers between the layers.
This arrangement of flowers has the Gardenia Strip and Small Gardenia Strip as well as the Miniature Rose, Dandelions, and Flourish #14. I've added a gorgeous ribbon bow, tag and vintage button to coordinate with the flowers.
I cut additional pieces from the Kraft paper to add bulk and fill in the flowers.  Bending the leaves gives them dimension. I used only 2 layers of the Miniature Roses with a pearl in the center to fill in the edges of the display.
Horizon Fishtail Banners and Square Frame elements are stacked up and secured with spacers for a delicate look. I finished this card off with  pearly accents, a simple loopy twine bow and coordinating wooden clothespin.
This card has a definitely country chic appeal.

You're the Best Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Good morning everyone.
How nice of you to visit the Cheery Lynn Designs blog today.  This time I'd like to show you a card! Most of you know my style and then you also know I almost never use Cheery Lynn's frame dies. But for this card I made an exception. For my card I used the pretty new "Summertime"collection by Maja Design it has pretty reds, blues, green & creams in it and today I used three of those colors.

You're the Best:
As you see I lighted up the greens, reds & creams in this collection. I really love the phrases Cheery Lynn Designs made lately they will fit on any project you are making. I lifted up mine with some foam tape and added some cheese cloth underneath it.

I am slightly smitten by this frame die so maybe I will now use them a lot more like Bonnie does ;-) Everyone on this design team is so talented and I really get so inspired by their works - thanks ladies.

Thank you card by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hello this is Eva here and today I have a card to share with you which I made for our newest challenge Pretty in Purple. This is a stretch for me as if you know me, purple is not a color you find me working with, but here I am with my purple card...LOL

So to create this card I cut down a 5.5" square card base out of black card stock.  Next I cut a slightly smaller white square card stock to layer on top of the card front.  Next I die cut one of the Square Stitch Nesting Set dies out of white card stock and Border #7 out of purple card stock and layered it with the square panel I just cut out and layered it on top of the card front.

Next I die cut Thank You sentiment our of black card stock and added to my card.  Next I die cut the flowers from the Embellishments #3 set and built one with white and purple card stock and added it on top of the "O" in the word "YOU".  Finally I added white little flowers to my card and added black little pearls in the middle of them.

Hope you like this little card and here are the dies I used to create them with.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you cards in our newest challenge!

Hugs,

Eva

Birthday Wishes by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a card inspired by blue flowers I saw on Pinterest.  I love looking around over there.  If you missed a blog post or want to see more Cheery Lynn inspiration you can follow on Pinterest too.

I started this card by creating the blue flower and choosing a background paper that coordinated with the color.  Then I filled in the leaves from the Floral Bouquet Kit die, added the Birthday Wishes Circle on top of a circle from the M4 set and added a small butterfly.  It was really a quick card to make, the longest part was probably accordion folding the leaves on the flower.  I used six of the stacker flowers to create fullness.  I hope you like the result.

To finish things off I added yellow stamens to the center of the Stacker Flower #5 using the Embellishments #3 die and then glued a gem in the center of the flower.  Rhinestones were also glued to the butterfly and I embellished the leaves with glitter glue and the flower petals with glossy accents.

Lollipop Card Tutorial by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi fellow crafters, it's JULIE here today. This week I am sharing a tutorial on my Lollipop card and I hope it inspires you to make one with all the gorgeous doily dies we have here at Cheery Lynn Designs.

I decided to make my Lollipop card a 3D design and concertina my doily, so I started by cutting out 5 doilies and shading with some ink at the edges. You will notice in the photo I cut half way into my doilies and scored down the sections to fold.

I then glued all my doilies together to form my rosette shape, gluing on to co-ordinating Angel Wing. The diameter of my rosette shape measures approx 5.5 inches and approx 3/4 inches in depth.

Next I added several layers of foam tape to the centre so my topper would have stability when I glued in place.

My topper in place as seen here.

I cut out another Angel Wing Doily decorating it to complement the front and drop shadowed my Thank You sentiment to make it pop.

I held my straw in place on my decorated back panel with some extra strong tape.

I used a fast drying glue to adhere the front to the back, holding in place until it gripped.
My Flourish was embossed with a Shabby Pale Green shade. Adding on my flowers and leaves.

My paper tassels were made by recycling bead ends from an old necklace and using my Cutie Fringe die strip.

Finishing off with some small flowers and pearls.

Good luck to everyone who is entering our current challenge Pretty in Purple.

Crafty Hugs,
Julie x

Be Happy by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 3 Comments

A warm Hello to you. It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out hosting the blog today. I am featuring another of the newly released sentiment dies called "Be Happy".

I was trying to think outside the box and thought why not use the sentiment in place of the sunflower. Not sure what you will think but I kind of like it. It's just something a little different.

The Whimsical "Be Happy"  sentiment I cut  three times out of cardstock and layered them so it was more like chipboard. I inked it up with a couple of colors of distress inks. The flower part of the die I offset and shaped. I then placed the sentiment on the stem and leaves of the Sunflower Set instead of a flower for something different. The background was embossed with the Black Eyed Susans .

I cut two of the Nested Flower Pots  and cut the rim off one so I could do a double layer on the rim for added dimension. I place the cats from the Kitty Kitty Meow Meow  set in front of the pot.

I invite you now to come join the Bi-Weekly challenge
@  http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 store credit.

I thank you for all the comments you leave and for visiting the blog today.
Have a crafty week my friends.

Happy Thoughts...with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Hello!

I just want to start off by letting you all know that I will be taking a leave of absense. I need to focus on my family and my family's health.

With that said, let's get to today's card!

I die-cut the Whimsical Tree of Life (I am in love with the new Whimsical Tree of Life from the June Release! It will be great for all season themed cards!) from cardstock and heat embossed with Vintage Copper Frantage embossing powder.
I cut the A2 Frames Rectangular for the base from light weight chipboard and heat embossed the edges with Copper Vintage Frantage embossing powder. I matted the Lined pattern paper to the chipboard and used the A2 Frames Rectangular in one size smaller to cut it.

From Kraft cardstock, I cut the Pierced Stacker #3 and Scalloped Oval. I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I then cut my green pattern paper with a smaller die from each of the two sets and matted them to the larger Kraft die-cuts.

I stamped my Happy Thoughts sentiment onto the Paris Signs 4, heat embossed with Copper embossing powder and trimmed the die-cut. Inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. To accent, I added the green rhinestones to the sentiment and corners.

Whimsical Tree of Life Die - B798

Sending Birthday Wishes with Bonnie Garby

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Hi there everyone.  It's Bonnie from Make Time to Craft here with you today.  I'm sharing a feminine floral birthday card today featuring some fabulous dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.
When I auditioned the beautiful Sakura Flower die on a plain white background, it was too 'blah'.  A patterned background was too busy.  What to do.....  Well, I went with a white on white background for a subtle textured look.  It gives some interest without competing with the flower.  I just love this look.  I simply cut a Lattice piece in white cardstock and adhered it to a white piece of cardstock.  Then I added the floral die cut on that.
Cheery Lynn Dies used:

I added some pretty white mulberry paper as my last layer before the card base to soften the look of the card.  My bi-color double-loop bow was made with Hot Pink and Pearl Pink Delicate Stitched Satin from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I created the bow on my Bow-it-All V3.0.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Don't forget, there will be a brand new Pretty in Purple themed challenge starting tomorrow.  We'd love to have you enter for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs.

Just a Little Note with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing with you a new card using some of the new release dies from Cheery Lynn Designs. The beautiful "Quarterfoil Frame #2" is the background in white cardstock. I was thinking it is like an elegant lattice. So I wanted to use papers that were soft and elegant.

The flowers and leaves/ ferns were die cut using the "floral bouquet kit" In the centers of the flowers I used gala glitz in pink. On the white sprays I placed some white flower soft. Kind of looks like q-tips! lol

The sentiment was stamped in pink distressing ink and then fussy cut out.
Love the sentiment in a wave...

The "dandelions" were die cut in white and distressed with the pink ink.
Then there is a bit of sparkle using a glitter pen.

Welcome to the Jungle By Ginny Nemchak

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here and I'm dropping in to share a walk on the wild side.  I love this card with it's warm colors and layering.
I cut a 6 1/2 x 5 inch card base from black cardstock then layered on several sizes of the Rectangle Stitch and Cut Die  in different patterns and stacked them up with black borders. I've also tucked in a Swedish Spring Oval Frame cut from the same black cardstock.
I was able to add texture with the Gauze Border cut from straw colored paper.  These flowers are not "tropical" like the bird...but I think they look fabby when cut from the Graphic 45 Safari Adventure papers.....they match perfectly. I'm using the Tea Rose Medium and Small Gardenia over the Fanciful Flourish Left.
I swapped out the center pieces from the Tea Rose for bisque  colored pearl gems. To work in a bit of extra pattern there's a few Horizon Fishtail Banners tucked in.
These strong paper patterns really needed a bold ribbon choice so I added a half of a loopy bow of black with white dots.  Along with the die cut leaves I fussy cut a few leaves from the patterned paper and gave them a bit of a bendy shape and tucked them in with the flowers to fill in the arrangement. A few added bits like the large clip  and metal eylet are great finishing touches.
