Once Upon a Time with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Happy Thursday!  It's Jenny posting with a card I created using some new dies from the April Cheery Lynn Designs release.

I designed this card around the Royal Scandinavian Oval Doily and everything evolved from there.  The Shasta Daisy was colored with distress ink and shaped using a molding mat and stylus tool.  I added a shimmery embossing paste to the edges with a paintbrush for sparkle. The daisy was layered on top of the new Deutchland Super Doily.  It was the perfect size to layer behind the daisy for added interest.

The blue layer was cut using the Rectangular Scalloped A2 Frames die.  A pattern was cut into it using the second largest of the Dutch Daisy Boutique Stacker A2 Frames.  The blue layer sits on a piece of patterned paper cut with the Deutschland Boutique Stacker A2 Frames which was then backed with a kraft A2 size card.  I popped up the Scandinavian Oval Doily with foam adhesive for dimension and then glued the Shasta DaisyPumpkin CarriageLeafy Flourish and Dripping Butterfly around the main sentiment.

The Once Upon a Time Set was cut twice, once in blue and then again in brown.  I offset them so the blue shadow would be visible underneath the brown.  The tag they are layered on was cut using the Pierced Stacker 4 from patterned card stock and the edges were painted with clear stickles.

Mickey's Birthday with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hello, Its Lisa back this week sharing with you a new card using more new diecuts from Cheery Lynn Designs! Today, I wanted to make a card dedicated to boys out there... This first new diecut from this month's release is the main inspiration for my card today! It is the Castle Edge Square. As soon as I seen the Castle Edge I thought of Mickey Mouse and the Cinderella castle. It was perfect!

The Pierced Banners went perfect with my Disney theme. I printed "to you" on white cardstock and used only a portion of it under the Mickey Mouse face. The Shaker card was used with the two smallest   Circles form the Silver Stacker Layers. I added yellow, blue and red beads in the center. A fun card for a young boy to enjoy!

World Traveler by Karen Maldonado

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hello there, it is Karen here sharing a World Traveler notecard!

Today's card was inspired by fabulous new Paris Signs #2!
I wanted to make a themed notecard to be able to capture those
lovely memories of one's travels!

I used the new Curved Border Set down on the bottom part
of the card.  It's been layered twice using two different pattern papers!
Loving the versatility of this border set, and I think you will too!!

Then, I decided to die cut the new Pierced Stacker #4.
To the top of the stacker, I die cut the Paris Signs #2.
Each of these layers is popped up for added dimension.

Next, I made three Black Eyed Susan flowers, and Flourish Leaf
using my distress inks!  The centers of the flowers were die cut in
black cardstock using the Embellishments #3 die.
I added the Queen Anne's Lace Border to the top of the card!

Lastly, using the Royal Scandinavian Super Doily, I die cut it
and tucked it beneath the flowers for a delicate touch.

Thinking of you by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi there, this is Eva and I have a Thinking of You card to share with you today.  I decided to create a card base with the A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped dies using craft card stock.  I die cut a Lattice Circle Frame out of turquoise color card stock and cut it down a little bit to fit it onto a smaller sized A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped which I die cut out of white card stock.

Than I die cut my rose and leaves twice using Rose and Leaves out of water color card stock and a gold glitter card stock as well.  I also die cut a Leafy Flourish using water color card stock again and painted it in along with my rose using water colors.

I tied a jute around my panel, added the flourish, the rose and the gold glittered leaves.  Finally I die cut a tag using the Tags 4 out of cream card stock and stamped my sentiment onto it and tied it with the jute.

Here is the list of Cheery Lynn dies I used to create this card:

Springtime Card by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi Everyone, It's Julie here. Today I am showcasing four of Cheery Lynn's new dies on my card. Let me show you how I built my layers on my 5.75 x 5.75 card.

On a length of patterned paper I placed my Curved Border set with the little pierced holes about half an inch in from the edge. I then added my cutting strip to the edge of my paper matching up with my pierced design, holding down with some low tack tape to keep in place. Inking the edges and adding on my lace strip edge.

I sprayed a little water onto my paper and gathered it into folds. I dried with my heat gun, highlighting the folds with Distress Ink. I then stitched around the edges for more detail.

You will notice my pierced stacker had the middle section cut out to fit neatly into the space available on my card and to compliment my oval doilies shape.

On my image I coloured her dress with Distress Pens and mounted onto my doily frame. I die cut my frame in white cardstock and then pressed into my Versamark Ink pad and heat embossed some Aged Aqua Frantage powder.

My branches I shaded with Copic Pens. My Cherry Blossom was shaded with Distress Ink and a Pearl added to the centre which I coloured with Alcohol Inks.

My sweet little Blue Tit was shaded with Distress Inks and edged with a Black Fine Liner Pen around his face and a diamante added for his eye. I absolutely adore these new birds from Cheery Lynn which come in a set of four ....... a must have !

Thanks for stopping by to see my post today and good luck to everyone entering our weekly challenge.

Happy Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hello!

So glad you can join me, Corina, for today's blog post! I have used three New Release dies on this weeks card - so lets jump in and take a closer look!

The three New Release dies that I used are the Royal Scandinavian Super DoilyPierced Banners and Leafy Flourish.

Above is a close up of the Royal Scandinavian Super Doily die, cut from white cardstock. I backed it with dark blue cardstock and add rhinestones for sparkle! This die is so elegant and can be used in so many ways.

In this next picture, I used the Pierced Banners and the Leafy Flourish dies.

I layered the large and small Pierced Banners die to the card base and added the Tags 4 die with my sentiment to the top right in the picture above.

I then added the Leafy Flourish die on top which was cut from white cardstock. I wanted more layers so, I added two petal layers of the Sweet Christine to the larger flower and two petal layers from the Embellishment #2 to the smaller flower. Added a rhinestone to the flower centers and down the side of the large Pierced Banners.

New Release Dies:

Leafy Flourish (Set of 2) - B571

Pierced Banners (Set of 3) - DL303

Previous Release Dies:

Mother's Day Card with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a Mother's Day card.  After seeing the beautiful flowers Julie made with the Black Eyed Susan Strip die I couldn't wait to play with this die.  The leaves are all from the Ivy Corner Flourish cut with the same background paper.  I also tucked in some Dandelions.

I cut the Concentric Circles Mesh Border out of the background card stock, layered patterned paper behind the negative space and then glued another concentric circles border in blue on top.  I kept some of the white negative cut outs and glued them back into the center of the border in a pattern.

Stickles were added to the edges of the Black Eyed Susans and I used a little gold paint on the edges of the dandelions.

Your Kindness...with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello, Its Lisa back this week sharing more New Cheery Lynn Diecuts from this month's new release! I was in the mood for yellow this week and found these beautiful papers to go with all the new beautiful diecuts.  First, I love the A2 Step Card Bundle Set. It's so easy and fast to use, plus it has beautiful intricate swirls to add to your card.

I used the Dutch Daisy Oval Doily onthe side of the step card. Then I traced the inside oval that comes with the Dutch Daisy Oval Doily and added pearls along the edges.  The sentiment was printed on cardstock and then diecut with Royal Scandinavian Tag 2. I layered it on top of the Dutch Daisy Oval Doily. The edges of the tag are pierced and it really is a wonderful addiction to your collection.

The side view of the Step Card. I added 2 layers of the Feathered Friends to make the bird study attached to the front and in the background corner I used the Royal Scandinavian Tag 1. Last but not least, I added some flowers made with Medium Rose and Miniature Rose.

Wish Big with Karen Maldonado

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Hello Cheery Lynn friends, Karen here sharing
a sweet birthday card with you today!

First, I used two of the stackers from the
NEW Heart Edge Square (set of 6) and die cut
them in two different designer papers!

Then, I layered the pink designer paper, using the Square Classic Silver Stackers,
onto grey designer paper to create a subtle backing!
This layer has been popped up using pop dots!

Next step was to die cut the most adorable NEW Eloise the Elephant die.
To make the "HAPPY" part of Eloise's tummy stand out, I backed
it with blue designer paper.
You'll see I also backed the toes, eyebrow, and eye with
designer papers too!
I also wanted her to stand out, so I added pop dots beneath!!

Lastly, I used the NEW Leafy Flourish (set of 2) with green designer paper
and tucked them behind the elephant.
I then layered four tiny flowers I created using
the Embellishments #3 die set, and added pearl centers to each flower!

To finish my card, I used the Sentiment Frame #2 die set
and stamped the sentiment!

Happy Mother's Day from Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hello, this is Eva here today with a pretty Mother's Day card using this week's challenge theme!

To start my card I used the Horizon Rectangle Boutique Stackers Frame to create my card base out of pink card stock. Than I found a pink patterned paper, which I cut to fit inside the card base and embossed with the Hearts and Rose Leaves Embossing Plate and layered it on a gold paper.

I than die cut a gorgeous Fleur De Lis Doily out of light blue card stock.  Also die cut a Royal Scandinavian Tag 2 out of cream color cardstock.  Also die cut the pretty flourish pieces that come in the same tag set out of gold paper and adhered it on top of the cream color tag and finally gold embossed my Mother's Day sentiment.

And of course since it's a Mother's day card, how could I not add flowers?  I created a beautiful Chrysanthemum and two cute Sweet Christine flowers.  I also added the brand new Leafy Flourish.  Finally I aded a cute butterfly using Mini Butterflies with Angel Wings.

Here is the list of the dies I used to create today's card:

Ballerina Girl by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi Everyone, It's Julie here today hosting the blog. I think we all have dreamed of becoming a Ballet Dancer at some point in our lives and today I am showcasing the beautiful Arabesque Ballerina from the April 2015 New Release.

I die cut my frame, inking the edges with Tattered Rose Distress Ink. I stamped a script stamp and also inked the edges of the centrepiece, finally mounting all onto a peach/pink coloured cardstock.

My Ballet shoes were cut out twice in white Cardstock, I coloured them with Copic Pens and a layer of Mica Powders to give them a look of Satin. I double layered my bow for added dimension.

My Ballerina was cut out in white cardstock and coloured with Copic Pens and Distress Ink onto her dress, with a touch of Mica Powders on her shoes. The bottom part of her dress was layered up 3 times to give added dimension and some tiny flowers added to the waist band.

Tiny flowers were added onto my flourish, finally finishing off my card with some bling. My finished card measures approx - 41/5" x 6"

Thinking of You Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hello Fellow Crafters!

Welcome to another Friday Card.

Have you seen the Cheery Lynn's April New Release! What do you think? Which dies are your favourites? Sooo many new wonderful dies to choose from! I am loving all the new creative possibilities these dies bring to my craft table!

Now to this weeks card!

I used all New Release dies except for the Cattails and Reeds. There is always an exception!

The photo above, features the new Royal Scandinavian Tag 1 die in blue cardstock and I layered my sentiment stamped on white cardstock on top. It comes with the extra filigree which I adhered to the top right corner of my card. You can use the extra filigree to layer on top of the base or on its own. You can use this die vertically or horizontally which is also very useful!

The Cattails and Reeds die went so well with my pattern paper, I just had to use it! I cut it out twice from the same blue cardstock as the card base and the Royal Scandinavian Tag 1 die. To create a dimensional look on the cattails I used flower soft.

Above you can see the New Release Pierced Stacker #3. I used 1 of the 6 dies in the set to cut the Heron pattern Paper.  To create the thin blue card stock mat, I simply flipped the die over, traced it onto blue card stock and then hand trimmed it out.  I really think this die creates an elegant feel to my card.

I used two dies from the New Release Curved Border Set for the bottom layers of my card. The set has four dies to create a mix and match design details to your card.
