Home decoration - Kianel

3:14 AM 6 Comments
Hi there!
Kianel here with you and today i wanted to show you that there aren't just cards and LOs in a scrapper's life. What about some home decoration for a change? Here is lace mobile that you can hang pretty much wherever you want and that is also perfect for a gift to one of your beloved ones, don't you think?
I played with the "doily heart" Cheery Lynn Designs released last month and can you believe that for that fantastical result you will need just one round in your Cuttlebug using the "large metal adaptator" or CUTTLEHUG from CLD??? what an amazing invention Mike!!!!
My personal challenge this week: no stamps and no laces and that doesn't happen much in my scrap, i can tell you. Okay, i admit that those wonderful dies just look like lace so no need of anything else!
I used all the doily hearts dies that are in the set to build my structure so here are some close ups. I also used fantastic shimmer paints from Creative Inspirations to cover all the hearts and added some pearls in between to enhance it all. Four of the Biggest hearts on the top.
Six of the medium doily hearts covered with Creative Inspirations paints and glued together in the center. Those hearts are perfectly symetrical so that 's a perfect match everytime!
And finally six of the littlest doily hearts were needed to make the bottom.
Here are the products i used, just click on the image to come directly to it:

I hope that you liked it and don't forget to pop by everyday to see the marvellous creations of my DT mates! Happy week everyone, Lots of love from France, Kianel.

Leaving an Impression With Cheery Lynn Designs

3:30 AM 5 Comments
As a papercrafter, if you are anything like me you've had a project or two in your past that just fell flat. What if I told you that Cheery Lynn Designs has a cure... wouldn't you be excited? Okay, now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that we have a cure for those moments you may experience some Mojo woes... but I can say that no matter what your next papercraft project might be... you'll be sure to leave an impression using Cheery Lynn Designs Embossing plates... no more flat projects! Yay!

Over the next couple of weeks the Designers here at Cheery Lynn Designs are going to show you how to put an end to those flat projects with the fabulous embossing plates, grunge plates, dimensional dies, stitiching and piercing plates and more! We've got so many products that literally add up to hundreds (heck, maybe thousands) of ways that will help you leave an real impression with your next papercraft project!

When we recently heard from our Design Team Leader Sandy that this would be our focus for the next couple of weeks... to feature all the "impressive" products available at Cheery Lynn Designs, that really got my Mojo going and I ended up creating a card that I was so excited about, I couldn't wait until next Saturday to share it with you... so I put my original card that I had lined up for today on hold... just to show you this...

To create this card I started with a stack of the fabulous embossing plates available from Cheery Lynn Designs. I first embossed the polka dot patterned paper using the Dotted Swiss XL Embossing plate.  For the second layer of my card, I added the beautiful French Pastry Doily, that I let just peek out toward the bottom of the card. Next, I used the Fleur de lis XL Embossing plate. Then, to add a little more interest, I first die cut a piece of Ripe Avocado cardstock using the laregest die from the Card Makers Stackers Nesting Dies Scalloped Rectangle set (just try saying that three times, fast) and then cut a strip that I then embossed with the new Large Square Pierce Plate. For the final layer of this card, I used the Foliage XL Embossing plate. I finished the it up with the "Friend" and flowers sentiment that I stamped and layered on cardstock I cut using the Little Stackers Nesting Dies Inverted Scalloped Oval. I also added a bit of ribbon and some pearls (just for good measure).

I hope you'll join us again tomorrow... and every day of the week to learn more about how to leave an impression with Cheery Lynn Designs Dies and Embossing plates.

Eye Candy Galore!

Ladies and any Gentleman out there.
I have so MANY things to share with you today! I know you all are needing to have some Veggies, so let me share a couple of cards with you today.
First, here is our favorite duo, Bob and Larry.
What I love about the VEGGIE TALES dies, is the detail each character has.
Look at Larry's teeth and Bob's stem. These fine details, really set these dies apart from others.

Here is a fun way to use PA GRAPE. Can't you just hear him sayin' "Who are ya callin' old?"

Over the next couple of weeks, I will share cards from a 6 card set I have made with the Veggie Tales characters.
I challenged myself to make a whole set and have them all coordinate with each other. To do this, I precut many pieces of paper all from the same print, gathered all my supplies and went to work. This is a great way to get a lot of cards done at one sitting.
OH! That reminds me, did you notice I am the Cheery Lynn Friday girl? Also next Friday, I have a special treat for you. I have this project DONE, but "conditions" have not been right for the photo shoot. But, how about a mini teaser? OK! Great idea...

Here is a snippet!

HMMM, what can that be?

But you'll have to come back next Friday for the real thing.
Lastly today, I am going to share a card I did this week.
I know that you are seeing our doilies a lot lately and I'm sure you all have thought about using our doilies for misting sprays and stuff, right? Ok, good, glad we are all on the same page there.
This card I have used the ORIENTAL BUTTERFLY DOILY as a mask for some Tattered Angels misting spray.

What I did for this card was to make my butterfly base with the ORIENTAL BUTTERFLY DOILY, using it as a mask for the spray.
Then I coated the butterflies heavily with the mist for this patina look.
For my card base, I used the same mist with the ITALIAN FLOURISH DOILY.

In this picture you can see where the Doilies have left a nice negative space design.

I embellished this with some of the DIMENSIONAL BUTTERFLIES, in the same color.
What a post, right? I hope you have enjoyed all my fun things today.
Remember to visit again. I am already wondering what the Cheery Lynn Saturday designer has in store for us, how about you??

For now, this is Jeannie from the Polka Cabana saying Thank Goodness It's Friday!

By now you have noticed the trend...doilies are IN! They add such a touch of elegence to any page. I added the beautiful Canadian Keleidoscope Doily to my page below which is full of bright colors and clean lines and guess what...it works!

My Life Would Suck Without You

See the little white hearts scattered around my layout? Those are from the insides "leftovers" of the doily. Gotta's love a 2 for 1!
Here is the complete list of Cheery Lynn Designs dies that I used for my page:

Canadian Kaleidoscope Doily
Poinsettias 2 die
Tropical Flower
Small Dimensional Leaves
Never Ending Love Heart die
Buttons3 die
Embossed Loves Me, Loves Me Not Border

See you next week!

Cheery Lynn Designs Butterflies

3:30 AM 9 Comments
For my Cheery Lynn Designs post today, I thought I would show you some of the fabulous butterflies that they sell.  Not only do they have the Butterfly Bundle of 7 dimensional dies and the new Oriental Butterfly Doily but there is a fabulous Flutter Bys XL Embossing plate as well.

I started my card with Opal Stardreams text weight paper and my Flutter Bys embossing plate.  I inked the plate up with Satin Rose Shades ink, then ran it through my Big Shot.  The ink was transferred to the de-bossed butterflies giving them a lovely soft look.  Be sure to click on the picture to see the expanded view.  Next came the Oriental Butterfly Doily, I die cut two of them, one out of card stock, the second out of my DP from the Basic Grey Kioshi collection.  I layered these two dies, cutting off the antenna on the patterned paper.  Using my Lattice 2 die, I created the trellis, layering it onto some of the Kioshi paper.  I die cut 2 branches from my Bird on a Branch 2 die, joining them in the center to create the vine up the lattice.  I added some of the Satin Rose ink to the vines for some dimension.  Next were the smaller butterflies, there are 7 in the Butterfly Bundle so I chose 2 and embossed and die cut them out of the Opal Stardreams paper.  This time to add color, I simply dragged the Satin Rose ink pad across the embossed area on the butterflies.  Lastly were the leaves for my flower, again I added a branch and then die cut 2 leaves from the Dimensional Large Leaves 2 set.  See all the lovely detailing in the leaves?  They are really fabulous dies.  I assembled the card, added some Stickles to the butterflies and the flower, a gem in the corner and I was done.  Finished size is 6" square.
