Bats and Ghouls by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi fellow crafters, it's JULIE here today and I'm sharing some Halloween inspiration with my spooky card. I always have great fun at this time of the year creating cards with scenes on them.

For this card I decided to make my own inky background using Distress Inks and mounted it onto white cardstock.

My spiders web was drop shadowed adding another inky layer on top with my sentiment which compliments the Twisted Tree Die so well. Finishing this area with a couple of scary ghouls.

My skeleton I cut his legs off and then placed all the parts behind the gravestone in a fun abstract way.

My Twisted Tree I decided to lay on its side to look like a spooky branch also adding a drop shadow to it. I then added my crow and attached my bats on to the branch by drawing a line with a fineliner pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you feel inspired to create a fun Halloween card.

The Spell Room by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hello Cheery Lynn fans, its JULIE here today and I'm sharing some more spooky fun in my Spell Room card.

I started by layering onto my paper my black Die Cut frame, this helps to draw the eye into the centre of the card. I die cut out my Old Books adding names onto them, layering onto my card and sitting my cheeky cat on top along with a scary ghoul.

My witches potions I also added names onto the bottles along with a cheeky spider. My witches hat I backed with some purple glitter card and adding colour to the buckle from a gold alcohol pen.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Crafting,

Happy Halloween With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi! Welcome back to another Halloween card for Cheery Lynn Designs
I was on a super roll making cards earlier in the month and it has been slowing down a bit since my daughter's wedding is just around the corner! Busy busy busy!
Meanwhile, I was stumped on what I was planning to make? I knew I wanted to make flowers using the "black eyed susan strip" The centers of the flowers are gorgeous!

The "cuties 3" I placed on the top and the bottom of the card. Reminds me of a ribbon. I stamped the sentiment on the "horizon fishtail banner" I do have to say it is one of my favorite go to die cuts. The "spiderweb" is in the background and the spiders are from "spider nest" Lastly, I added the cat from "witch's brew"  I just love the cat....meow!

A closer view....

Halloween Trick or Treat Fun by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi everyone it's JULIE here today, I hope you had a lovely weekend and managed some creative time. Today I am sharing some more Halloween inspiration using many of the amazing Halloween dies Cheery Lynn have.

My Witches Cauldron was cut out in black cardstock adding some Vintage photo Distress powder at the edges to give a rust effect. My flames and logs were cut out in White cardstock and coloured with Copic pens adding some Glossy Accents onto the flames.

My cute little Witch was cut from the Trick or Treat Border layering her with a foam pad.

My hills were die cut from my Stitched stacker die, I then fussy cut the shape of hills and highlighted the stitching effect with a black pen, distressing the edges and adding some black soot Distress ink.

My house I layered Orange cardstock behind to give a warm glow, layering on with foam pads and a spooky ghost behind. My stormy sky was created with inks and a cloud stencil.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you to create a Halloween scene on a card or Scrapbooking page.

Good luck to everyone entering our Bi-Weekly Challenge for a chance to win a $20 spending spree.

Happy Catoween by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi Cheery Lynn fans, it's JULIE here today. Gosh I can't believe we are into October already and Halloween shall be here very soon. So today I am sharing some Halloween inspiration. I so love making these fun cards with all our fab dies.

I started off with an 8" X 5" card and matted and layered cardstock which I tattered at the edges. For my background I used inks and a web stencil to get a spooky effect, layering up my spiders web with foam strips.

My main cat I added the witches hat to, layering on the belt and buckle twice for added texture. I used the reverse side of my smaller cat on the left hand side of my card to give a mirror image. You don't tend to notice as much you have used the reverse side in black cardstock when you want your die cut facing the other way.

Frankenstein was cut out in several colours layering him up and highlighting his face and clothes with a Fine Liner pen.

My Skeleton I shadowed with black cardstock to help him pop.
