Reindeer Fun by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 0 Comments
A warm Hello to you. It's Debbie with you today from Debbie's Time Out.

With the cozy red plaids and deer so popular this year for Christmas decorations I thought I would create a card using both.  I have inked, distressed and layered my background. The Merry Christmas sentiment is from the  Winter Holiday Word  set. I added the snowflake from the Snowflake Set 2  set. The some holly leaves were added from the Holly Lace Flourish .

Now for this cute reindeer. I cut him out from the Reindeer Fun  set then layer different colors behind him and the trimmed him up a bit.  It doesn't show in the photo, but I popped him up quite a bit so he really stands out as my focal point.  Now this makes for a beautiful masculine card too.

Thanks for visiting the blog today and for all the comments you leave.
Have a great crafty day my friends.

Last Minute Christmas Card by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Hi It's Debbie From Debbie's Time Out. It is close to Christmas and you need one more card . Need a quick one? Well here it is.

Some snowflake paper matted onto black and a winter scene in the center make a super quick base. I picked three dies to fancy up this card. The tree on the bottom is one of the dies from the Merry Christmas w/ Tree Sentiment  set.

Along the top I layered the Icicles Border . The snowflake is one of the snowflakes from the Snowflake Set 2 set. The Merry Christmas sentiment is from the Merry Christmas w/ Tree Sentiment . Now how quick is that. Between the wintery scene and the Christmas sentiment it really has a feel of a Winter Wonderland Christmas to it. I hope this will give you some ideas when you need a quick card.

Thanks to everyone for following me thru this last the year on this blog, for the comments you have left and for cards you may have shared thru the challenges. I always enjoy seeing your designs too. You all inspire me too.

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2017.  Enjoy the festivities my friends.

Joy to the World with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hello friends!  It's that time of year again and for the first time this season there was snow on the ground this morning where I live in NY.  I planned to make a Christmas tag, but the result ended up being snowier than I'd expected.

I began with a tag from my stash.  I glued Bo Bunny paper to the tag and then cut the edges.  The purple strip at the bottom is a coordinating paper from the same pack.  Joy to The World was cut using the same purple design paper.  The smallest snowflake from Snowflake Set 2 was cut with another design from the pad.  I wanted the Fancy Reindeer to stand out so he was cut out of metallic paper.  The edges of the large Snowflake Delight 2 were lightly colored with distress ink. I positioned the different elements and glued everything down, sprinkling rhinestones around the snowflakes and wiping on a glittery paste on the sides to resemble a dusting of snow.

Winter Sweater by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Hi It's Debbie back with you from Debbie's Time Out. Glad to see you here visiting the blog.

We have had a pretty good amount of snow here so when looking thru my papers and seeing this sentiment paper I thought it perfect for a winter card.

For my base I used the Step Card and place the paper sentiment in the center.

This sentiment was perfect for using the  Christmas Knick Knacks  set with. The toque and mittens are part of this set. I used the Icicles Border Die  along the top. This icicle dies is one of my favorites that I use a lot.

Along the bottom I have layered the Dancing Snow Flurries . The snowman, scarf and presents are also from the Christmas Knick Knacks . That is it for this time. I hope I have inspired you to get creating.
I would like to invite you  to join our bi-weekly challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree.

Tree Shaker Card by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi everyone, it's JULIE here today and I am sharing some Festive inspiration using the new Christmas Tree shaker die. I have made this card in mind that many of us like to make a lot of Christmas cards, so this is a design that won't take too long to make. My card measures 4 and a half inches square, this is smaller than my usual square cards I make.

My Christmas Tree was coloured with a mix of Distress Powder and a sparkly powder and filled with Metal Confetti, Micro Beads and Glass Glitter.

All my sparkly and snow layers were made by heat embossing with different colours of powder after die cutting them out. This takes a little longer to do but has the advantage of your glitter staying in place and not falling off.

In answer to your question Gail Lass, how do we manage not to have the glitter sticking to the acetate ? left in our comments on Blog Hop Day. I use Glass Glitter inside my shakers which is less static and our metal confetti doesn't hold a static charge. I also keep the protective paper over my acetate as I die cut it and only pull off as I am ready to glue in place. This way the acetate is not picking up static charge from your body. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for all your wonderful comments on Blog Hop Day, I loved reading them all. It would be great to see you sharing your creativity with Cheery Lynn Dies in our Bi Weekly Challenge with a chance to win a $20 Shopping Spree.

Christmas Cardinal by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny here today sharing a Christmas card inspired by this week's challenge.  I began by layering the Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames in red on top of a 5.5 inch square card.  I took a smaller white piece of card stock and distressed the edges before layering a piece of design paper cut with the French Flair Classic Silver Stacker on top.

I thought the Fancy Bird House decorated in red and green would make a cute holiday home for thie Cardinal from the Feathered Friends set.  I cut the birdhouse using kraft paper and then glued different colored papers to the back to add the detail I wanted.  I also double cut the fence and layered the white fence on top of the kraft base.  The snow is texture paste and then I also added sparkle by adding a glitter paste on top.  I used two layers of the Holly Lace Flourish for greenery and added a snowflake from the Snowflake Set #2.

The Joy of Winter 8x8 Layout by Amy Voorthuis

12:00 AM 3 Comments
Good morning everyone.
It's my turn again on the blog today and this week I would like to show you another 8x8 layout with a whole bunch of dies that I really love. For this layout I used the pretty new "Home for the Holidays"collection by Maja Design. It has such beautiful colors in it.  This time I used the colors light blue, red & cream.

The Joy of Winter:
I used a picture of myself a couple of years ago when there was snow for the last time.....I love snow but I don't like it being so cold lol. I used the CABD - 62 - Feathers {set of 4} as something extra to add to my flower clusters.  I think it gives it such a amazing effect to not only use leaves.
Let's have a closer look:
I added the B481 - Joy to the World Wreath on my picture and cut the word Joy out of it to use in my title, then I used two keys in my upper flower cluster to give it a little extra.
In the end I added some glitter snow on the wreath and flowers to finish my layout.

I can't wait to see all your pretty works.

Gingerbread Christmas with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi, Jenny here today with a Christmas card in July.  It's 90 degrees in NY today but I wanted to play with this adorable Gingerbread Family  die!

The card base is a green A2 card.  I cut a piece of patterned card stock slightly smaller to layer on top. Then I cut three gingerbread people out of a creamy gray paper. I glued white card stock to the backs so the eyes and buttons would look like they were made with white icing.  A little distress ink was sponged around the edges and I added red pearls for buttons and the center of the bow.

The circle was cut with the new Circle Stitch & Cut Tool.  Merry Christmas is a Crafty Ann die, I just love this vintage font!  Cheery Lynn is now carrying all the Crafty Ann dies.  You can see them all HERE.  Last I added the snowflake from the Snowflake Set 2 and glued a sparkly silver embellishment to the center.
