A Little Bit Shabby Chic & A Farewell

3:30 AM 16 Comments
Hello my Thursday friends, it's Diane here with you again today...
this is my last post as a guest designer for Cheery Lynn Designs
and I want to thank everyone that came to visit and left me a comment here..
I really appreciate it!!
Also, I would like to mention that I had many requests for a tutorial
of how I made the fox tail lilies from last week.....
I have a tutorial on my blog if interested...

For todays project I went a bit "shabby chic" with an Easter egg...
I started with a Martha Stewart paper mache egg that can be filled with treats...

It was painted a cream color, then added a tissue paper ruffle around it
with begonia flowers made from crepe paper......
the egg is gorgeous sitting out for Easter...

I also made a card with calla lilies made from the same crepe paper...
the crepe paper is wonderful for the flowers, as it is easy to shape....

Vintage Cone

edited to add
I did a small tutorial on my blog of how I did my lilies HERE

Hello, it's Diane again this Thursday.....
I am excited to share today's project with you....
A "vintage floral cone"

I recently received a new Cheery Lynn Designs die "cuties fringe #4"
and saw a flower made on Pinterest by cutting strips and curling them....
well, a light bulb went off

and I thought why wouldn't the fringe dies work just as well, and guess what?......
in minutes I had myself some "fox tail lilies" .....
with self closing tweezers, florist tape and wire, they were very easy!

The cone was made by rolling the French Pastry doily into a cone shape...
and notice the little tag tied on the bow....it is from Tags 4...love it!!

If you have any questions feel free to email me at my blog and I would be more
then happy to help you make your own lilies
Also don't forget to visit the Cheery Lynn Design challenge blog
with your entry, you could win a $20 gift to their online  store!!

Happy Valentines Day!!!

Hello it's Diane to share with you a frame I made for Valentines Day.....

I love it when you can make a home decor item with your papercrafting supplies....

I found the Cheery Lynn Design dies perfect for this project....
I purchased a frame for $3 at Walmart
and the little clothes pins at Hobby lobby for $1.99....
and by using my Cheery Lynn Design dies
it made the cutest little framed clothesline banner.....
The background is the Chicken Wire frame which I cut in one piece
and the clothes pins are actually clipped right onto the "wire"...
The little doily die is an extra die that comes with Polynesian Sails Oval...
however, there are now mini doily dies available to purchase separate.....
I hope you enjoyed my project this week and will "see you" next Thursday!!!

It's Diane again with a "pop up" card for this Thursday.....
I had tons of fun creating this card...
but it was very hard to photograph it well enough to do it justice...
it really is stunning "in real life"...
lots of detail with all these wonderful Cheery Lynn Design dies...
I used several of them for this project....

Here is the front of the card......

and here is the inside.....

and a close up

and a side view
.

I'm not sure what is my favorite...
The darling little Humming Birds, the Bees or the little "lady luck".....
the Tiny Things With Wings Die is perfect for a "pop up" card.....
I hope you enjoyed my pop up card and try one of your own!!
