Happy New Year Hostess Gift idea!

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Hi there Cheery Lynn fans, Maggi here.  First, I want to wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.  I hope 2018 is memorable for you in many good ways!   I'm sad to say that this is my farewell post for Cheery Lynn Designs.  It has been a wonderful 13 months designing for them and I am so appreciative of the opportunity given me.  Thank you so much everyone at Cheery Lynn Designs.  I love their dies, they are so imaginative and fun to work with.  However, it is time to let someone else enjoy the privilege of being on Cheery Lynn's design team.

Now let's look forward to the New Year celebrations.  To to kick off the holiday, I've turned an ordinary bottle of champagne into  a fun hostess gift by adding this shaker bottle hanger.  I used the New Year 2017 Shaker Die Set to make the shaker.  The die has 2017 as part of it's design so I just simply cut that off and glued the included sentiment, Happy New Years, to the acetate on the front of the shaker.

I used a large cut from the Coved Rectangle Stitch And Cut Tool set and placed behind the bottle hanger, using the bottle hanger as the 2nd layer.  On top of that I used a black starred layer cut with the A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped set.  Next is the floral design paper cut with the Pierced Stacker 2 set.   All the papers I used are from Graphic 45's Vintage Hollywood collection and the dancing couple is fussy cut from one of the design papers.

The flowers are handmade using a mix of layered cuts from the Judy's Blooms Die,  Sweet Williams Die,  Indie Bouquet , and Floral Bouquet Kit 8 Piece Die Sets.

To top the hanger and give a real festive look, I added two pretty bows and a floral center.

One thing I really love is a pretty swirly flourish and here I've used Flourish #7 Die.

Basket for Mom

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Well this should have been an Easter basket but I'm a day late and a dollar short as they say, so I turned it into a Mother's Day basket filled with my Mom's favorite chocolates!  She'll love it!

To start my design, I used Coved Rectangle Stitch Nesting Set - SM Silver Stitch Nesting Set 6 Piece Die Set - MS10 to cut panels for the front and back of the basket.  I just cut rectangles for the side panels and used a corner chomper to memic the coved corner on the front panels.  Then I added Border #7 Die - CABRD7  in the center.  I cut a little tag with the smallest of the  Horizon Fishtail Banners 3 Piece Die Set - DL278 and stamped a simple greeting.

I used several different flower dies (listed below) to make the flowers that embellish the front and back panels.  I always like to tuck in a few leaves to my floral clusters and one of my favorite dies for making leaves is Flourish Leaf Strip 5 Piece Die Set - B178.

The handle is "gussied up" with more flowers, a seam binding ribblon and  beautiful flourishes cut with  Flourish #1 Die - CAFLRS1.

On this side view you can really see how pretty that leafy flourish looks cascading down the side.  The papers I used are from Graphic 45's DCE Once Upon a  Springtime.  The pinks and greens are perfect for this springy Mom's Day project don't you think?

That's it for me today!  What are you making for your Mom for Mother's Day?

Holiday Merry Wishes Christmas Tag by Ginny Nemchak

3:00 AM 1 Comments

Hey there Peeps. Ginny here to share a very festive Christmas Tag I created with many of my favorite Cheery Lynn Designs Dies and some fun patterned papers and embellishments.
I created the base for this tag with the Coved Rectangle Stitch and Cut die using the middle size to cut 1 from 110lb cardstock and 1 from red cardstock. I adhered these together to make a sturdy layer to add the rest of the sections.
Using the next size down in the set of Coved Rectangles I cut a layer from red checked paper and attached it with spacers between.
To add texture and detail I tucked in a section of Gauze Border that I snipped to fit and dovetailed.  It's held on with glue and a funky giant paper clip.
Christmas flowers are the funnest to make and these were a (slightly messy) blast.  I created the Poinsettia with matching red cardstock and accented the tips with Sugar Glitter Paste before assembling. The center is  pieces clipped from a berry pick and given a light coat of alcohol ink to color it to coordinate. The white flower is the  Gardenia cut with crisp white.  Every flower arrangement needs leaves so why not use Holly shaped leaves with a little inking on the edge and Stickles to make it extra festive?
A few last details like this Tiny Kaleidoscope  Doily , chipboard sentiment and pearly accents are perfect for this tag and finished off with some snappy red and white stitched ribbon.

Okay that's all for me. Wishing all of you a happy and productive day : )

Live, Dream, Love Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hello!

Thank you for joining me today, Corina, for today's post on the Cheery Lynn Blog. I have created a simple vintage card that could be used for a variety of occasions.

I used the A2 Frames Rectangular for the base and top layer. I cut two rectangles from Kraft cardstock. The third layer edge is paper distressed and the second layer was embossed using the Burlap Embossing Plate.

I layered two of the Coved Rectangle die cuts. I cut the largest out of black patterned paper and added detail using the Coved Rectangle Stitch die. I stamped my sentiment on the Coved Rectangle cut one size smaller and heat embossed in black.

For my border along the top, I cut strips of pattern paper, layered them and added the Anastasia Border to the top and bottom. Wrapped twine around it and tied in a bow.
