Walking Zombie by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi crafty friends!  It's Jenny back today with a Halloween card using some of the latest Cheery Lynn dies from the Fall and Winter Release.  I love this Walking Zombie, he's got great detail and he can be dressed up in so many ways.  He's also really different.  I tend to collect Halloween dies and I have nothing like him.  He's an individual!

I began this card with a 5.5 inch white card base.  I then adhered an orange square cut with the Castle Edged Squares die. On top is a piece of patterned card stock cut with the Square Pierce & Cut Tool. It has a great little pierced detail edge. I cut the Zombie once to create the body and then again to make his clothes.  The shirt was cut out of green paper and his pants out of blue and they were aged using distress ink.  I added a little bit of red card stock behind his clothing and blue behind his eyes to accentuate his scars and eyes.

The grass was made using both the Grass Border and the Grass Border 2 dies.  The little toxic beaker was backed from behind with black paper.  The Happy Halloween sentiment is from the new Witch's Skirt set.

Let's Grow Wise Together by Christina McIntosh

3:00 AM 1 Comments

Hello!  Today I am sharing my first Cheery Lynn Designs Project called "Let's Grow Wise Together".  This is a card featuring the use of several Cheery Lynn Designs dies.  Whenever I design anything I always consider the color palette and color tone family I will be using and this project was no exception.  I chose soft warm tones using browns, pinks, rust reds, copper, warm muted yellows, muted dark greens and soft warm light beige.  Why?  Well...why not right?  And without further adieu...duh, da, da, dahh...owl love card!

This card was so fun to make and who doesn't love a "LOVE" theme.  It was actually the dies that drove my color choices in the first place and this design was hatched from my creative impatience to use two of my new favorite dies, the Cheery Lynn Designs Whimsical Owl Die and the Cheery Lynn Designs Whimsical Tree of Life Die from their new "Whimsical Delights" release.  From there it was all about layering with other die cuts including those (small and medium Pierced Banners Dies) that would allow me to add my sentiment which I hand inked, "Let's Grow Wise Together."  I wanted my main background paper to have texture and I opted for the "Fleur De Lis" embossed texture.

Thank you so very much for joining me.  If you have any further questions on how this was made, please do not hesitate to add your questions in the comments area below.  I would love to hear from you.  I read and respond to every comment and question.

The Cheery Lynn Designs dies I used are as follows:

Some of the tools I used included:

Copper Paint Pen
Chameleon Color Tones Markers
Sand Paper
Cheery Lynn Designs Big Sister Die Cut & Emboss Machine
Kids Watercolor Set
(5) Lovely Kinds of Paper
Pigment Ink Pads

Myself and all of Cheery Lynn Designs would love to see your creations too.  We have a fun  Pretty in Purple themed challenge going on. We'd love to have you enter for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs.
