The challenge this week is to use non-traditional Christmas colors. I think this card fits that bill. I began with an aqua card base 5 x 7 inches. My designer paper came from a 6x6 inch pack so I trimmed the top row of penguins off; placed them at the top and the rest of the paper at the bottom. That left me a gap of about an inch to fill in.
To create the border piece, I began with a 1 inch pink base and added a 3/4 inch aqua base. Using the largest die from the new Madrid Flourishes Rectangle Boutique Stacker Frame and a pink piece of card stock 1/2 inches wide, I cut a border piece. You can see in the photo above, that I just taped my card stock piece to the die and then ran it through my machine. Using spray adhesive, I attached it to the aqua piece then trimmed the ends to size and added it to my card base.
Using the largest die from the fabulous new Mirror Mirror Doily, I die cut it from pink card stock. Using the smallest die, I cut it from aqua card stock and then used the plain oval from the set to trim out the smaller frame. I layered them and then popped it up on my card base, popping up my cute little penguin as well.
Using the smallest die in the Madrid Flourishes Rectangle Boutique Stacker Frame
set
and aqua card stock, I started my sentiment panel. I trimmed a pink
piece of card stock as a backer, then stamped my sentiment and trimmed
it to fit.
