God Bless America Card and Welcome to a New Design Team Member

Hi friends. It's Bonnie from Make Time to Craft here with you today. We just celebrated Memorial Day yesterday here in the US and I couldn't resist just one more Patriotic themed card featuring fabulous dies from Cheery Lynn Designs.

I'm also thrilled to introduce you to a new design team member here at Cheery Lynn Designs.

Ginny from Polly's Paper Studio will be joining us in June. I know you are going to love her style and I hope you'll join me in welcoming her. She will be on with her first post on June 10th. Welcome Ginny!

For my card, I printed out my digital sentiment and cut it with the smallest of the the Oval Stitch & Cut Lge Silver Stitch Dies. I then layered it on red and blue leaving a small border on each layer. I backed a piece of red cardstock with Stick It Adhesive and cut with the Chicken Wire Frame. I then adhered that to a piece of white cardstock and trimmed it down to the desired size. I then layered that on to red cardstock, then white cardstock and adhered it to my A2 size card base.

I kept my design very clean this time, meaning no fuzzy mulberry paper layers, no inking of flower petals or edges and just three bold colors. Okay, I did sneak a little green in for the leaves, but I'm not counting that! I love red, white and blue cards because the bold colors just make them POP. This card could easily be a birthday or other occasion card as well by switching out the sentiment.

My beautiful bi-color double-loop bow was made on my Bow-it-All V3.0 Tool using 5/8" Red and Electric Blue Delicate Stitched Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I also ran a piece of the blue across the middle topped with some 3/8" White Diamond Satin Ribbon.

I love all the different looks you can create with the Shasta Daisy die just by altering petal colors and inking (or not) some of the layers. I will include a video tutorial below on how I made these fabulous flowers.

Thank You by Eva Dobilas

Hi there, this is Eva and I have a fun card to share with you today. I created this with our new dies, which I love. Here is how I made it.

To start out my card I cut an A2 sized card base out of white card stock. Next I die cut a Chevron A2 Frame out of a card stock base and painted it in with water colors and adhered it to the card base. After that I die cut the Thank You Circle out of black card stock, and also die cut one of the Scalloped LG Stackers Nesting Dies to back up the sentiment die and adhered it to the card front. Than I die cut my flowers and leaves from the Floral Bouquet Kit Die Set and created my floral bouquet and added it to my card.

Thinking of You by Jenny Alia

Hi friends, Jenny here today sharing a card I made using new May Release dies. I used two of the dies from the Royal Scandinavian A2 Card Facer set to cut the design into the card front. The card face is backed with a light blue patterned paper from Prima. I cut the Thinking of You Sentiment Square and glued a blue Pierced Square behind it. The sentiment was covered in glitter glue for sparkle.

The flowers were made using the Cherry Blossom Branch die. I cut it twice to double layer the flowers. Adding an extra flower created so much extra dimension. The flower on the left is the complete flower. For visual balance I added a part of the flower to the right side of the card as well. The flowers are colored with distress ink. I crinkled the edges by pinching them with my fingers and pulled the stamens up toward the center to get a more natural and three dimensional look.

Vintage Kisses by Julie Lavalette

Hi everyone, it's JULIE here today. Our challenge at present is Lots of Layers and I thought it would be fun to join in with some inspiration using the new Lords and Commons A2 die Facer set.

I decided to use my die set for an Easel styled card, using negative parts of the die and some of the corner shapes as well as the Facer.

You will see I tattered all my layers as I started to layer adding some stitching to the top layer, along with some Frantage and the little hearts that fall out of the negative space of the die, topping with a Pearl.

My flowers were inked in the centre along with some Flowersoft. I scattered some Frantage onto my leaves.

I used the corner accent that comes in the Facer set and my Tiny Doily to add some more detail and layered behind my stacker frames at the image.

My flower to hold the Easel in place was mounted onto my Lords and Commons tiny Doily.

The Sky is the Limit by Debbie Brownmiller

Nice to see you here. It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out hosting the blog today. It is that time of year again for graduations. Cheery Lynn has a awesome Graduation die set as well as the sentiment "Graduation" so thought I would play with these dies to make a graduation card .

I started this card by embossing the base with the Clocks Embossing Plate .

I then layered the Burlap Border near the bottom. That gave me the base I wanted to build on.

Along the left side I have cut the Pierced Banners (Set of 3) out of map paper and matted it with black cardstock. Because of the printed sentiment "The Sky is the Limit" I thought the plane from the new Fun Travel Die Set would be perfect to layer on the banner and make it a great guy card.

The burlap border made a nice background to layer the grad hat and diploma on from the Graduation Set (Set of 2. I used gold paper for the tassle and ribbon as well as for the Graduation sentiment. I used some gold outline sticker along the top.

I used the two of the dies from the Say What? (Set of 16 for the clouds in the sky and to print the sentiments on.

This is a front view of the card. All die cuts are popped up for added dimension. The banner I glued just along the top of the card and let it stick out at the bottom for even more dimension. I was quite pleased with the way the Graduation Set and the NEW Fun Travel Die Set pair so well together to create this card.
