You're the Best by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with some quick cards I made using the new May Release dies.  Thank you so much for leaving all the lovely comments on my blog during the hop last week.  I also enjoyed reading the comments on the Cheery Lynn Blog about everyone's favorite die.  I thought I'd share some of my new favorites with you: the Chevron A2 Frame and the new sentiments dies.

This card was made using only three dies and it's so easy to replicate in different ways.  I cut the chevron background die in white and mounted it to an A2 top fold card.  I then colored another piece of card stock with red and pink inks and cut that with the chevron die.  I glued the colored strips into the negative areas and glitter was sprinkled on the white areas.  Below are some other examples of cards using many of the same dies. These were made for my son's teacher and assistant teachers.  The chevron can be used with or without the negative pieces.  The card on the right uses pieces from the center and left cards to create the blue and black pattern.

My eight year old daughter and I made these Birthday cards for friends.  She made the butterfly card. I helped add the glitter glue to the butterfly wings but she did the rest on her own.  The card on the left is the Chevron background from the pink strips I used on the first example card at the top of this post.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and I hope you're having as much fun with these new dies as I am. Remember to join in the Cheery Lynn Red, White & Blue Challenge for a chance to win a $20 voucher for shopping at Cheery Lynn Designs.

Just for You by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi everyone, it's JULIE here today. Thanks so much for all your wonderful comments during our blog hop both here at Cheery Lynn and on my own blog, I so enjoyed reading them. Today I am showcasing the new - Just For You die.

I started by using White Cardstock along with my IOE plates and Embossing folder to make my background. I inked my card with Milled Lavender to highlight the embossed areas, tattered the edges of my card and added a sprinkle of Frantage for a shabby feel.

My Just For You was heat set with Milled Lavender Distress Powder and layered onto my Oval and mounted onto my Quadrafoil Doily with a little cheesecloth for extra detail.

My flowers and leaves are all cut out in White Cardstock. I shaded my Dandelions with Bundled Sage Distress ink at the stems and added Milled Lavender Distress Glitter onto the flowers. The centre of my Chrysanthemums is Micro Beads and a little Distress Glitter into the centre of my Sweet Christine flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and good luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge.

A warm Hello to you today. It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out hosting the blog today.  I hope you all enjoyed the blog hop last Sunday with the design team showcasing some of the new releases. If not you can check them out on the blog by scrolling down to the Sunday post.
For my card this week I wanted to showcase two more of the newly released dies. The Dutch Daisy A2 Card Facer Die Set is so elegant and is a set of three frames plus a few accent dies with it. The  Best Wishes Sentiment Square Die is just one of several  sentiment dies that Cheery Lynn Designs released with shapes around the sentiment. So this card was created using just the two dies.  This card has three layers all popped up and layered on top of the last layer. For the base I used white cardstock and placed the two largest frames from the Dutch Daisy A2 Card Facer Die Set on to the cardstock and cut them. I then mounted it onto a green card base.
Next I cut the smallest frame in aqua and popped and layered it on top of the white base.
Last I layered the Best Wishes Sentiment Square Die onto a square piece of green card stock. I popped and layered that on top of the aqua.  Goes to show you can make a beautiful card using just two dies.

Please come join the  bi-weekly challenge
@ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. You can enter a card once each week.

Have a crafty week my friends.

Give Flight to Your Dreams by Corina Finley

Hello!

Today, I have a card to share with you using the fab Cheery Lynn Design dies. I love creating cards with this colour combination, it works for so many different occasions. Also using the frame dies like the Chicken Wire on the base of a card easily gives depth to your card.
I used the Sweet Christine, Tea Rose Medium and the Judy's Blooms with a center from the Embellishment #2 set. Added pearls to the centers and tucked in the Olive Branches and Wheat Heads for foliage.

The stamped image was cut with the Circles Shape, layer on top of the Scalloped Circle and then on to the Horizon Circle Boutique Stacker Frame. The Horizon Circle was inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and highlighted with a glitter pen.
The Butterfly was die cut from white cardstock and I used a blue Glimmer Mist Spray to add colour. I backed the Butterfly with a light Kraft sprayed cardstock. Layered up onto the Horizon Fishtail Banner and the stamped label trimmed from the Paris Signs 4 die. I added small pearls to the die cuts.
