Anastasia Border Frame Tutorial

I created a card for the Frame It challenge on Monday and got many requests to show how I made my frames using Cheery Lynn Designs Anastasia Border.  So I have created this adorable card along with a tutorial to take you through the steps.

Step 1.  Cut 6 Anastasia Border strips

Step 2.  Using adhesive (not glue) add border strips across two adjacent sides to a 5.75" card base, overlapping at the corner.

Step 3.  Using a ruler and an Xacto knife, cut along the diagonal where the borders meet on the inside where they meet and at the outer corner.  Cut carefully so you don't cut through your card stock.  When you get through the first border, the excess will come right off.  Then continue to cut through the second border, removing the excess part.

Step 4.  Just continue around the card, overlapping and trimming the corners.

Step 5.   And here is the final corner, ready to trim.  After I got all 4 corners cut, I decided to add a piece of DP, I cut it to 4.75 inches and slid it under the border pieces.  As a final step, I added a bit of glue under the mitered corners so they will lay down nice and neat.

Step 6.  The center panel is the same procedure using a 4 inch square of card stock.  Cut the border pieces in half at the center; there is a score where the arrow is that will aid you in cutting.  The follow the steps above to complete your frame.

And that is how I created the frames for my card.  The image is Rosie from Karen's Doodles, printed onto Cryogen paper and colored with Copic markers.  I added a holly embellishment using Cheery Lynn Designs Holly leaves die.  Finished size is 5.75 inches square.
