Kianel here with you today showing you a box i started at the scrap show we had in Paris this week end and for which i had the incredible opportunity to meet the "Doily Lama" himself!!!
Mike and i demonstrated the Cheery Lynn Designs dies there and i started this little box to show the possibilities of the frames and the corners. I finished it at home so here it is:
You know how i love to use dies for other purposes than what they are designed for and this time i played with my lace corners again. Do you remember this flower made out of Lace corner D?
As this one sold out after the 1st day of demonstration, i thought i would try to play with another one so i chose lace corner E this time and made a flower out of it:
I used the one which is on the top of the picture, which really is alike lace:
The base of the box is made with cardstock. I then used an XL square stackers to open 2 of the sides. To decorate those opened sides, i chose to use the french lattice small.
On the lid i decorated all the sides with the Wedding garter border.
I also decorated each side of the box with dies. On the left side, i used the exotic butterfly small #2 and the angel wings small # 2, that i placed on a fanciful flourish.
On the right side, i created the flower using one of the dies in the Lace corner D set. This flower is decorated with the Victorian Romance Flourish that i cut to size my box. I finished with a small exotic butterfly die and the small angel wings coordinated die.
The big red flower is made out of one of the dies from the lace corner E set that i cut 5 times and flipped each in 4 as an accordeon. I then glued all the centers together and added a smaller flower in the center that i made using the miniature rose die and the medium rose die.
I then added leaves from the pine branches die and the Victorian Romance Flourish to which i added two pieces of the same die in another color.
I made a tag with the Little french flair stacker and the Little silver french flair stacker and added an exotic butterfly small and the exotic butterfly small angel wings .
I also would like to share another project that i made during the show for a lady who was selling ready made boxes and asked us to decorate one of them.
I never got a chance to finish the box but this is what i made using dies from the Easter collection:
I used the little spring basket which i backed up with 3D pads to give some volume.
I inked the little rabbit and placed it there too.
I then inked a fanciful flourish that i cut into several pieces and placed in the basket.
And finished with flowers made using miniature rose and medium rose dies.
On the front side of the box, i used the Dancing doily lace border.
I made a stencil out of the italian flourish die and inked the left side of the box using it for my background.
The lace egg six is cut twice and placed on a cardstock cut with the egg stackers.
I also used the pine branches die that i inked with distress and one of the gorgeous exotic butterfly small #2 dies.
I would like to thank Mike and Cheery Lynn for such a great time and for those marvellous dies they design! Don't forget thta from now on, you'll find our weekly challenge on its own blog with a chance to win a 20$ shopping spree! Take care and see you in a week, love from France, Kianel.
Awesome, gorgeous, fabulous and beautiful. What fun you must have had with them. We need to clone your brain so we can all think outside the box like you do.
