Such A Beauty

5:00 AM 5 Comments

This week our challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is
ANYTHING GOES

I used the following dies:

Whenever I can do anything I want 99% of the time that will involve flowers.
Also I love to paper piece so making these flowers was perfect.

I used a plain unpainted box and added a layer of Gesso. I next went and added a layer  of Crystal Gel, I think this is made to use with molds but love how it looks on crafts.

I used one of my favorite products: GLITTER from PK Glitz! I used a great adhesive for small pieces and attached this delicate doily  on top of the glitter and gel.

I went to work creating many flowers and leaves. I like to make several all in white and color if I need to.

My favorite is the tiny baby breath pieces, what do you think of those? This is my second time making these. Here is my other post making them, I might be addicted...lol

What about all that shine? It was hard to get pictures that weren't to shiny.
I used pearls for the center of my flowers.
The sentiment is from Stamping Bella and was all one line, I just split it apart to put on the tags.

I know why the caged bird is singing on this card!

Did you get my reference to the famous book?
I am still having a ton of fun with dies from the August New Release.

The new dies I have used on the card are Bird Cage, Hummingbird, Celtic Whimsy and Embellishment #2.

Dies that are not from the new release are Scalloped Rectangle's, and Mini Fanciful Flourish.

I am so impressed with the intricate pattern of the Celtic Whimsy.  It cut easily and is such an impressive pattern.  This is easily one of my new favorites.

I also love the new Bird Cage.  What a gorgeous design.

Have you had a chance to head on over to our Challenge blog?

I just peeked and we are up to 41 entries already!  WOW, it's not even the weekend yet.
The theme is anything goes.  Remember you do need to use a Cheery Lynn Designs dies in your project/card to qualify, but still anything goes?  What have you got to lose?
Have a great weekend!  This has been Jeannie from The Polka Cabana with today's Cheery Lynn Designs post.

No stamps card! - Kianel

3:30 AM 9 Comments
Hello dear Cheery Lynn Designs lovers!
Kianel here with you today. You know how i like to challenge myself so this time i decided to go for a no stamp card (well, i must admit it felt excruciating not to use any, lol!) on a christmas theme and to use one die as a mask. You'll have to forgive my poor attempt as i was way too far from my comfort zone here... Anyway, here is the card:
It's about 16cm x16cm. The base is made with size 4 of Kaleidoscope lace mega doily.

To make my background, i took the inner diecut of the Mexican tile pattern and used it as a mask with brown ink. Pretty cool effect you get i think.
The flower is made with several dies: the first petals are from the Build a flower #2 set, inked with distress and covered with Creative inspirations shimmer paint. I then rolled some pink tulle and finally placed the inner part of the Notre Dame cathedral doily under. I then added The mini leaf and the leaves from the Build a flower #2 set. When placed on the card, i added some pearl band bits here and there.

The border is called celtic weave and is sooo delicate!
Small butterflies from the mini dimensional butterflies are placed here and there.
I finally added the smallest text of the Merry christmas set (to which i took the snowflakes off).

Don't forget our weekly challenge for a chance to win a 20$ shopping spree and the opportunity of becoming one of our weekly spotlights!
Take care and have fun with Cheery Lynn dies! Love from France, Kianel.

Anything Goes & our Weekly Spotlight Top 3

5:06 AM 11 Comments

Hi and Good Morning - Alison here today :)

Wow!!  We had some gorgeous entries to our Doilies challenge last week and so many to choose from it was really hard to pick just a Top 3.  So the DT finally settled on a Top 4 and in order of entry we loved seeing:

Well done ladies, it was a pleasure visiting your blogs and seeing your fabulous creations!  Please contact us for your Weekly Spotlight Badge to display on your blog.

Now for my card this week I wanted to have a really good play with some more of the New Release dies.  There is such a variety of styles and themes, but they all work so well together too!

I used a 6 x 6 inch scalloped card base and stitched Prima papers to white American Crafts cardstock.  I used this cardstock for all the dies cut on this project and it cuts beautifully :)

I cut the gorgeous Bird Cage, and the Cherry Blossom flowers, twigs and Babys Breath from the Build a Flower Embellishment #2 set and arranged them in the top right corner.  The Lace Hummingbird Flourish was layered onto stacker circles, and then also embellished with Mini Butterflies and cherry blossom.

The border was created using another of my favourite Celtic Band borders and decorated with more cherry blossom flowers.  I finally added pearls and glamour dust/snow glitter with a glue pen to give shimmery highlights.

All dies used on this card are:

This was quite a quick card for me and the dies take all the credit for making it look so delicate and pretty :).

I hope we see lots of entries again this week, as its Anything Goes you can just let your imagination and creativity roam free.  You have until Sunday to join in and dont forget there is also daily inspiration from the rest of the talented DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog.

I hope everyone has a smashing week and thanks so much for visiting today.

Happy Birthday

3:30 AM 10 Comments

Today I have created a Happy Birthday easel card using my Mega Sunflower Doily die as inspiration.   I cut the doily in half and using spray adhesive added it to the side of my card.  It is a perfect backdrop for this fabulous image from Impression Obsession.  Next I added the new Happy Birthday sentiment, which I trimmed to split the words and removed the gift from the end of the 'y'.

I added Anastasia border to the card base and this beautiful Sunflower (adding Flower Soft in the center of the flower)  The leaves are from the new Build a Flower 2 die set.

Finished size is 5 x 7 inches.  Be sure to visit the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog for more inspiration and to join in on this week's Anything Goes challenge for a chance to win $20 to the store.

Happy!!!

1:30 AM 7 Comments
Good Morning Cheery Lynn followers!! It seems like I have been to a lot of weddings in the last few summers!  I'm one of those guests who always take a lot of photos and then make sure the happy couple gets a copy of everything I have.  It's exciting for them because they get photos that their hired photographer usually doesn't catch.  Although this photo is very similar to the one the photographer took so I added my own twist with some photo shopping.  Cheery Lynn Designs has some of the most beautiful dies for wedding scrap booking.  I reach for them every time I do a wedding layout.  For this 12x12 layout I used several new releases along with some of my favorite old standbys!!  For the Flourish I used the Tropical Flourish Die and for the Doily's I used the French Pastry Doily. The new releases I used are the Hummingbird, Build a Flower #2 and the for the leaves I used the Build a Flower #1 Petals and Leaves.  The smaller flowers are an oldie but a goodie, the Cherry Blossom Die.

This week our challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is Anything Goes!!!

The winner will be chosen based on merit by Cheery Lynn Designs. They will receive a $20 coupon for shopping at the Cheery Lynn website. The challenge will end on Sunday night at 22:00 Eastern time.  In addition, our design team members will be voting on 3 favorites who will receive a Weekly Spotlights badge to display on their blog. Be sure to come back on Wednesday to see who earned the badge.
Have fun creating and thanks for stopping by the Cheery Lynn Blog today!!

Aw, Shucks

3:30 AM 9 Comments

Aw, shucks! Doesn't my sweet nephew look adorable wearing his cowboy hat (he was actually watching Saturday morning cartoons - and had to have on his proper attire!) So sweet, but I can't believe how little he was here.

I wanted to show you the difference in the Cheery Lynn Designs older style roses and the one made with the new Build a Flower 2.

The large flower is made with the Build a Flower 2. With one pass of the die, you can cut 10 petals at a time - how awesome is that!? And did you notice the rose bud? I adore it - and it's so simple to make. The smaller rose was made with the Large and Medium Roses, but I love how this lets you have different sized flowers on the same project. The Baby's Breath was made with the Build a Flower Accessories 2. There are just so many flowers that we can create now, and Mike is already working on the 3rd die in this series! To see some of the possiblities that you can already create - please have a look at the Build a Flower Tutorials. We will be adding to this - so if there is any type of flower you'd like to see, let us know!

Our challenge this week is Anything Goes - so show us your projects using Cheery Lynn Designs and you could win a $20 gift certificate!

Acetate Dome Card

3:30 AM 10 Comments
Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying your weekend.. Tamara here and I would like to show you a project that I have been working on over the week.  I have used acetate to create a domed card.
Cheery Lynn Dies used to create this card are:-

These are the Frangipani with leaves which I have teamed up with the new embellishment kit #2.  In the background you can just see the grass border and Victorian picket fence. I have distressed the fence using Antique Linen and Walnut Satin inks.

Here you can see the added dimension to the card using acetate to create the dome..

The inside of the card which has been decorated using the Oval stackers and the bird cage which is a new addition to Cheery Lynn.

Other view of the dome and those wonderful flowers..

Here we have those new amazing Mini dimensional butterflies. Aren't they gorgeous..

Hope you have enjoyed my little bit of inspiration on this Sunday Morning.. You still have time to enter into our prize draw for this week, head on over to the challenge blog to find our more..

Thank You

2:30 AM 10 Comments
Hello! Jodi here with another 12x12 layout for you today.
I just love the new Chicken Wire Frame! It adds fantastic texture! I hand cut pieces out of two frames and added a bit of distress ink here and there to give the wire a bit more of a worn look. The new Thank You sentiment can easily be added as a title to a layout as well as used for a card. I added the Wedding Garter atop Lace Light Deco Border at an angle for a bit of interest.
Tags are a fun embellishment to add to any card or layout. I love to use the Classic Coved Rectangle Silver Stacker to create custom tags for my specific project.
My flower was created with petals from the newly released Build a Flower #2 set, the stamen and little red flowers are from the Build a Flower Embellishment #2 and Build a Flower #1 sets. Foliage from Small Leaves #2, Mini Fanciful Flourish, and Pine Branches.
I wanted to share a close-up of the Chicken Wire. The details are just amazing!!
There is still time to enter this weeks challenge for your chance to win the $20 shopping spree! Details Here
Thanks for stopping by!

 I used the following dies:

Italian Flourish Doily Angel Wing

English Tea Party Doily Angel Wing

Notre Dame Cathedral Doily with Angel Wings

Crosses Set of 3

How about a set of three white cross cards. These are very clean and simple and ready for a quick sentiment for whatever  situation I need them for.
Card one I decided to hand cut a background for the cross in black so you can see all the details of the cross...just added a pearl to the center.
On card two I also decided to back up the cross so once again you can see the intricate detail.
For my third card I used my favorite cross and favorite doily...aren't the patterns wonderful together? Don't you love the pearl pieces on the circles? Oh yes it is my favorite. I used a wrinkled seam binding from my stash to finish off each card.
Thanks for checking out my quick cards...
Won't you join us this week at Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge?
