Framed Happy Birthday card by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi there, this is Eva here today sharing a framed card.  I love all of the frames Cheery Lynn Designs has and this week's challenge is all about frames.

To start creating my card I die cut two Horizon Rectangle Boutique Stacker Frame out of black card stock.  Than I cut a smaller panel out of a dark pink card stock which I backed up with white card stock and cut the edges off with a small scalloped scissors.

I die cut a Japanese Garden Lace Oval with Angel Wing using black card stock than the Wing out of white card stock.  I also cut out the middle using water color card stock and stamped my images on which I water colored in.  I die cut a Horizon Fishtail Banners out of black card stock and white embossed my sentiment on it.

I die cut Judy's Blooms out of light blue card stock and created my flower and die cut a Rose Leaf Strip out of green card stock and added that to my flower.  Finally I die cut the flourish from the Japanese Garden Lace Oval with Angel Wing using gold glitter card stock.  As I last touch, I stamped  the corners and added some flat pearls.

Here is the list of the dies I used to create this card with

With Kisses by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi Everyone, it's JULIE here today hosting the blog. Cheery Lynn do the most wonderful Butterfly dies in many different styles and sizes with Angel wings for perfect layering. So I thought it would be nice to show you all how they can hold centre stage on a card for a wow factor.

I started by matting and layering my stacker dies to give a detailed border with contrasting colours and adding some Copper Stickles around the edge of my centre mat.

My Doily was cut out in Cream Cardstock and shaded with Distress ink, matting onto my Pierced stackers along with my Lords and Commons Super Doily. My Butterfly was heat embossed with Copper Embossing Powder and layered onto my Angel Wing Die, finishing off with a few pearls and a Sentiment.

Jingle Bell Stocking Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hello!

Thank you for joining me! Last week my card was Halloween themed, this week Christmas! A beautiful Holiday Die with glitter and Rhinestones!

My Card started with the awesome A2 Frame dies. I first used the A2 Frames Rectangular Classic dies and then layered the A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped die. On top of the Rectangular Scalloped, I layered the Alpine Flourish Doily, another A2 Frames Rectangular Classic die and centered the Pierced Stacker #4. I matted the Pierced Banner on top of the Horizon Fishtail Banner and center on my card.

To create the Jingle Bell Stocking, I applied Be Creative Tape (double sided tape with a backing) to one side of cardstock, placed the die cut face down on top and put thru my die cut machine. I then pulled off the backing, sprinkled glitter and burnished with my finger. I backed with two different pattern papers, added burgundy rhinestones and centered on my card.

You're Amazing! by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hello again!  It's Jenny back today with a floral card.  I feel like I haven't made one in a few weeks and I thought it was time.  I wanted to challenge myself and make one without using a doily.  I began with a kraft A2 card base and added a blue Deutschland Boutique Stacker layer on top.  Then I cut a Pierced Stacker 4 and cut out the center using the Alpine Flourish Doily .  I popped that layer up using foam adhesive and then created the flowers.

The flowers and leaves are from the Tea Rose Medium.  I cut them in blue, added blue distress ink to the centers and shaped them with a stylus molding tool.  Dandelions were tucked in behind and I added rhinestone centers to the flowers.  I cut the sentiment You're Amazing and glued two more Dandelions underneath.  Last I added the little butterfly from Tiny Things With Wings die.

Chocolate Nutcrackers With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hello again. It's Lisa back with a new Christmas card using several New July Release diecuts from Cheery Lynn Designs. Part of my fabulous and generous package from Cheery Lynn Designs I received a Toy Soldier. It is really very detailed but I wasn't  sure on how I wanted to incorporate it onto a Christmas card?

Well, I started this 21 day fix this week and of course CHOCOLATE is not part of the diet....So naturally, when you don't have something you crave it right? That's how the Chocolate Nutcracker card became my inspiration or is it a craving?. LOL

This is a 5 x 5 inch card and I just used one piece of white cardstock and one piece of 2 sided patterned paper. The brown was on the back of the teal snowflake paper. I diecut 2 "Toy Soldiers" and placed white cardstock behind them. I diecut one "Snowflake Delight 1" in the center and added several pearls. I diecut the smallest "Believe" and added a pearl to the top of the "I"

I also added a few "Wreath Strip" pieces along the sides of the soldiers.
Here is my inspiration, "Snickers Nutcracker" that my children still love every Christmas!

Christmas Poinsettia Tag

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Sandy here with you today filling in for Karen.  I have made a quick Christmas Tag for my project today.  I began with a #8 tag, adding some wonderful DP from My Mind's Eye which I sponged with Vintage Photo Distress ink.  I added my Double Scalloped Border along the top and the words For You below.

To create the flower, I die cut my Rose Leaf Strip 3 times from DP adding Vintage Photo Distress ink.  I used a small circle as a base, then glued the leaves on staggering them as I went.  I pinched the petals to give it some dimension.  I added Bundled Sage to the last petals and glued them on the bottom for leaves.

Be sure to join us this week for the Anything Goes challenge for a chance to win a $20 shopping spree.

Dream the Impossible card by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi there, hope you had a great weekend!  This is Eva here with an inspirational card. This week's challenge is Anything Goes, so I bet you all are going to upload some pretty cards!  For me just love all the pretty dies Cheery Lynn does, so I used quite a bit on my card.

To start our my card I created a 5.5" square card base using a light pink card stock.  Than I found a patterned paper I wanted to use and cut it down to the size I wanted and die cut the Royal Scandinavian Border Set out of black card stock and also die cut into the patterned paper and added gold glitter card stock under it to show through and laid it on my card front.

Than I die cut a larger Pierced Stacker #3 using cream card stock, and a Fleur De Lis Doily using light blue card stock.  Once again I die cut a smaller Pierced Stacker #3 using a light pink card stock and a Royal Scandinavian Tag 2 using cream card stock and stamped my sentiment on it and layered all on top of each other to create my focal point.

Than I die cut a Gardenia Strip using watercolor card stock and painted it in with water colors.  I die cut Rose Leaf Strip out of green card stock and Olive Branches using gold glitter card stock and finally one of the butterflies from the Small Exotic Butterflies #1 using patterned paper and also the gold glitter card stock for the bottom layer and added all that to my card.

Here is the list of items I used to create this card:

Frosty The Snowman by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi Cheery Lynn friends, it's JULIE here today. This week I am sharing with you a vintage styled Christmas card using one of our latest released Snowflake dies which comes in a set of 2.

I started by cutting out my Snowflakes in white cardstock and then sprayed Adhesive on to them and added extra fine Glitter. This way you get a lovely smooth finish that doesn't show any lumps of glue. I cut them in half and added to the corners of my first layer.

My Snowman I added Snowtex on to his body and an accent on to his hat and whilst still wet I poured some extra fine glitter over them. The embellishments were coloured with Copics and a little Distress ink at the edges for definition to the Snowman's body.

My Snowflower was glittered in the same way, layering twice and adding a Gumdrop. My Pine Branches were coloured with  Copics and Glitter added for an extra frosty look.

Merry Christmas was heat embossed with Red Tinsel Embossing Powder.

Trick or Treat Card by Corina Finley

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Trick or Treat!

Corina here with you today on the Cheery Lynn Designs blog. For this weeks card I used embossing powders to give the die cuts dimension, depth, and texture.

I started with a card base in white cardstock and sprayed with blue and purple dye ink. I layered the Spider Web Mesh Border on top and spritzed with water. Then removed the Spider Web Mesh BorderThis technique lightens the area not covered by the border die cut, leaving a stencil/ghost like effect. I dried with a heat gun. See the wonderful look it created below. If you wanted a more intense look, just let the water sit longer before drying with a heat tool.

I cut the Deutschland Boutique Stacker A2 Frame die cut from black cardstock and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then layered onto the card. I added a Spooky Tree which was covered in UTEE and while warm pressed a wood grain stamp into the UTEE to give texture.

My favorite part from this card, is the Trick or Treat sentiment. I cut it out twice. Once in white cardstock and sprayed with green dye ink. This is my base layer of the sentiment. The second was cut from black cardstock, I only applied embossing ink and black sparkle powder randomly to the top of the die cut. I then trimmed and adhered to the top of the green sentiment base.

Dies Used:

Spooky Tree - B191

Nautical Tag by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hello!  Jenny here with you today with my take on this week's Doilies Challenge.  I love this Nautical Doily.  It's always a show stopper on cards.  I decided to go with a nautical theme and my tag evolved from there.

I began by cutting an oval from the Oval Classic Silver Stackers.  I sponged distress ink on the background and left the die cut in the die so I'd get a white edge.  I then distressed the outer edge with some brown distress ink.

I cut the Sand Dollars and Starfish and colored them with distress ink as well.  It's difficult to see but the Ships Anchor was actually covered in silver embossing powder and is metallic.  The Ship's Compass (one of my favorite dies) is so detailed.  It didn't need much to embellish it but I again colored it with distress ink.

To top everything off I used a seahorse left over from another project.  It's one of the three dies in the Seahorse Family.  Like the sand dollars and starfish he was originally cut with kraft card stock but was colored with blue, green and brown distress inks.  To  finish I cut a hole with a hole punch and tied twine to the top.

Best Witches With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi everyone! Its Lisa back this week with another new Halloween card using lots of Cheery Lynn Designs Diecuts. I have to tell you this latest release with fun intricate diecuts are DYING to be in your collection. LOL
So my card today was one of those cards that you don't have a plan or sketch for, you just go with wherever it wants to take you... Well, the only two things I knew for sure was I wanted to make another Halloween card and I wanted to use doilies inspired by this week's challenge

The doily is my old time favorite, "French Pastry" I diecut it twice in green. I printed Best Witches on white cardstock and diecut with "Silver Stacker Circles" then I used the "Horrible Cat" and "Witch Hat" on top of the circles with pop dots. In the two corners I diecut "Spider Nest" and made 3 spiders.

I diecut one of the smaller "Pierced Stacker #4" and stamped "Boo to You" in white and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I used a white signo pen for the outline. Normally I don't add any diecuts in the inside of the card but I just had to add the "Victorian Picket Fence" in black to complete this card.

You're the Best by Karen Maldonado

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hello Cheery Lynn Design friends!  It's Karen here today sharing
a card I made for this week's challenge!  It's a quick layered "thank you" card,
that comes together pretty quickly!

First, you start by layering the Square Classic Silver Stacker right on top
of the  Square Scalloped Stacker .  Then, you take the Fleur De Lis Doily
and place the Circle Classic Silver Stacker right on top.  Now,
adhere both of these layered sets together.

Lastly,  layer the remaining dies in this order:  Pierced Stacker #4
Flourish #6, and then the beautiful Chrysanthemum Strip die!

I added a sweet little stamped sentiment and a beautiful metal brad
to the center of the flower...and, that's it!

It's "Doilies" for this week's challenge!  Hope
you come and play along using all of your favorite Cheery Lynn dies

Best Wishes by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi there, hope you had a great weekend, it's Eva here today sharing a sweet card in honor of our newest challenge, which is using doilies.  Well, I love doilies, regardless what shape they are, so I opted to not use the typical circle shaped doilies.

To start out my card I created a card base using two French Flair Scalloped LG Stackers Nesting dies and adhered them together at the top.  Than I die cut Dutch Scallop Square out of light blue card stock and die cut a square to fit inside of it out of patterned paper.  Than I die cut the larger of the Two of Hearts dies and placed it in the middle of the square.  I die cut the corners from the Royal Scandinavian Tag 2 and placed them in the corners.

I also die cut a Sweet Williams Strip out of blue card stock and created three different size flowers and placed flat pearls in the middle and placed them on the side of the heart doily.  I die cut the smallest of the Pierced Banners and stamped my sentiment on it and added it to my flowers.  Finally I die cut the smaller of the Leafy Flourish out of gold glitter card stock and added it to my flowers.

Here are the dies I used to create this card with:
