2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release Part 3: Fall & Thanksgiving Kick-Off

3:30 AM 16 Comments
Hello friends.  Bonnie from Make Time to Craft here today kicking off the Fall & Thanksgiving new release from Cheery Lynn Designs.  We will be showcasing new Fall and Thanksgiving themed dies today through Tuesday.
Today you will find the Fall and Thanksgiving new release dies added to the Cheery Lynn Designs website.
Hurry over to view all the new Fall/Thanksgiving themed dies.
On my card today I am showcasing the fun Happy Turkey Day set.  This set is just adorable!
I started with an A6 (6-1/2" x 4-3/4") card base.  Again I felt that a solid off-white background was too plain, so I pulled out one of my favorite dies - A2 Lattice Frame die and cut it out in off white to add some texture to the background.
I cut the sentiment out in kraft and brown cardstock and adhered the layers, slightly offsetting them for a shadow effect.  I then cut the various pieces in the cardstock colors that you see using the remaining dies in the set.  For the turkey I started with a brown base and then layered on the different color pieces.  I lightly inked some of the edges on the turkey pieces along with inking the edges of the 'Eat Beef' sign.  I finished off the turkey with some fun wiggle-eyes because, well.... he just needed them!
I then cut out the pumpkin and leaves and inked them for dimension as well.
Once I built the layered portion of the main card panel, I added a layer of natural mulberry paper and added it to the card base.  Then I added the sentiment and the focal pieces across the bottom.  I added the pumpkins and turkey fist and then filled in with the leaves.

I finished my card off with a fun bi-color double loop bow created on my Bow-it-All Tool with Tangerine Delicate Stitched Satin and Brown Plaid Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I also tucked in some Natural Jute Sting for added texture and interest.
Don't forget - be sure to comment on the new post each day between July 22nd and August 3rd.  One lucky person who leaves a comment on one of those posts will win a $20 Cheery Lynn Designs gift certificate.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Don't forget, we still have a Christmas in July Challenge going on.  We'd love to have you play along for another change to win a $20 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs.  It'll sure come in handy with all the fabulous new release dies!

2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release - Part Two: Halloween with Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 21 Comments
Goodmorning lovelies,
You are here on the last day of the Halloween part two release and I am very glad you have been with us all these days. Don't you just love all the new dies? Well I do! I had so much fun creating this card. "Yep" sorry it's a card again as I told you the last time I was planning on creating a layout. But I have to admit I struggled with these dies because here in The Netherlands we don't celebrate Halloween that much and I have a son that hates to dress up. So I don't have any pictures of him that I can scrap...

BOO I dig you:
For this card I used all Maja Design papers and for once it's kind of clean & simple for me as I tend to always distress and stitch my papers and use all sorts of flowers on my work. I did not do that here at all {I don't want to brag, but I am kind of proud of myself ;-) }
There are fourteen new fun Halloween themed die sets to choose from and more other themed die sets in the next following days!

https://www.cheerylynndesigns.com/new-releases/
I have to tell you I really love these Monster Kid dies so I had to create with one of those sets! They are really detailed as you can see and you can layer them as you prefer.
The text on my card came from two different die sets the B840 - Fun with Frankenstein {NEW} and the B852 - Halloween Ghost {NEW} so you see that they can easily be used together as most of Cheery Lynn Design dies can be!

Be sure to leave a comment today and every day between July 22nd and August 3rd. One lucky person that leaves a comment on the selected day will win a $20 gift certificate for a shopping spree.
Also when you buy two of the new released dies you will get a free Sweet Candy Cane die awesome right!

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today!
I hope you enjoyed my post and I have inspired you to use your Cheery Lynn Designs dies. If you love the Cheery Lynn Designs dies I used, you could always enter our bi-weekly challenge to win a $20 shopping spree.
This time it's challenge #234 "Christmas in July Theme" I can't wait to see your work! I am not such a fan of making Christmas cards but I really love to see everybody else their creative cards.

2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release - Part 2 Halloween Catoween Tag by Ginny Nemchak

3:00 AM 13 Comments

Hey there Paper Peeps! Ginny here dropping in to share a fabby project I created with the new release dies!

I had lots of fun with this tag....and you know I love cats so it's just purr-fect for me lol. I started with a simple layered base 4 x 6 of black cardstock with festive and fun Halloween paper attached with chipboard spacers. I've also notched the corners.
I super love this Whimsical Halloween Cat 4 piece Set.  I wanted to layer this cute kitty over patterned papers so I added a French Pastry Doily and cut a small circle in more neutral pattern to display him. I also used foam spacers to build it up off the surface.
There's a bit of coordinating bling in the background along with some fabby matching ribbon and to make this arrangement perfect I added Feathers cut from the background paper and embellished with a bit of Stickles.
Rather than using the entire sentiment from the die set I elected to just use the Cat-O-Ween part and created a bit of a banner curled to add dimension and  attached with tiny wooden clothespins.  I gave this cool cat a little bling for his bow tie to coordinate with the larger blingy accents in the background. Last but not least I wrapped a bit of twine around the bottom of the tag.
 ~Cheery Lynn Designs Supplies~

And don't forget that for the next four days when you buy any two of the fall and winter new release dies (Winter, Christmas and Halloween) you will get a free Sweet Candy Cane die.
Okay that's all for me. Wishing you all a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release - Part Two: Halloween with Eva

3:30 AM 16 Comments

Hello there, this is Eva here today and I am sharing a fun card using some of the brand new Halloween dies.  Here is what I created with them!

To start out I created a 5.5" square card base out of black card stock.  Next I layered two smaller square panels out of patterned papers, than I started adding the dies, the Ultimate Halloween 5 piece Die Set.

I started out by die cutting the tree out of brown card stock and added black card stock behind the openings.  Next I die cut the pumpkins out of orange card stock and once again added black behind the openings and added them to my tree.  I die cut a circle and water colored it with yellow paint and added it to my tree and die cut the cat out of black and added it to my scene.  Next I die cut the ghost and the bat and added them to my scene and finally I die cut the word BOO out of black and added it to my card as well.

Hope you like this little card and here is the list of the dies I used to create it with:

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Hugs,
Eva

2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release - Part Two: Halloween with Chrissy Mac

4:38 AM 17 Comments

Hi everyone!  Chrissy Mac here with a card project featuring Cheery Lynn Design's new Fall & Winter dies from Part Two of the four part release...and one of the funnest fall holidays for getting crafty...Halloween.  There are 14 fun die Halloween themed die sets in this part of the release.

https://www.cheerylynndesigns.com/new-releases/
My main focal die cuts are from one of the cutest Halloween die sets I have ever had the pleasure of using.  It is called the Whimsical Halloween Cat 4 Piece Die Set (B850).  I just had to use this die set!  I used 4 solid color heavier cardstock papers and one lovely thinner patterned paper to build this card.  The other dies from the new Halloween release that I used are the B841 Ultimate Halloween 5 Piece Die Set, the B829 Happy Halloween 4 Piece Die Set and the B833 Walking Zombie 4 Piece Die Set.

Here is a spooky number 13 step breakdown of the various layers starting with the bottom up to the furthest out layer:

  1. Black Card Stock used for base card
  2. Medium grey card stock with canvas-like texture die cut with CLD LPC-16 Rectangle Stitch and Cut Tool (4.75 x 6.25")
  3. Burnt orange card stock with die cut pattern paper (cut with CLD Card maker Rectangle Scalloped CM-2) overlayed on top and then cut with CLD FRM115 Lattice 2 Die.
  4. Black card stock die cut with CLD Pair of Ferns B118 Die Set and the bat from CLD B829 Happy Halloween 4 Piece Die Set.
  5. Grey Grass and Burnt Orange grass die cut with CLD CAFLRS-15 Grass Die.
  6. Tombstone cut out of white card stock using CLD B833 Walking Zombie 4 Piece Die Set and colored with distress ink pad and colored pencils.
  7. Pumpkin cut out of burnt orange card stock using CLD B841 Ultimate Halloween 5 Piece Die Set and colored with distress ink pad and colored pencils.
  8. Bottom Reverse Cut Black Grass was made using the remnant left behind after cutting the black grass (using CAFLRS-15) seen at the top of card.
  9. Happy Catoween Whimsical Halloween Cat was made using white, black and burnt orange.  The black was cut out of a very heavy black chipboard.  I layered the spider in burnt orange and the bow in burnt orange.  The catoween sentiment was cut out of white card stock and inked with a dark mauve inking pad.
  10. The rectangle behind "Happy Catoween" was die cut using the CLD LPC-16 Rectangle Stitch and Cut Tool (one of the smaller rectangles).
  11. Finally...I just had to add flowers...well that was just because any cute cat, even a spooky one loves a garden frolic among flowers.  I used the patterned paper and the burnt orange paper to make these dimensional flowers that were die cut with the CLD B434 Sweet Christine flower die.
  12. Oh and of course I added some lovely gem and bead embellishments for the center of the flowers and on that cute spooky little cat's bow.
  13. I used an acrylic glossy finishing spray over the whole card after all was done and dry which created saturation on all of the colors.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave a comment today and each day between July 22nd and August 3rd. One lucky person that leaves a comment on the selected day will win a $20 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs.

3:30 AM 17 Comments

Hi everyone, it's JULIE here hosting the blog and today I am showcasing our fabulous Fun Santa Set in our current mini series. This is part one of our Fall and Winter Release.

As you can see the Fun Santa Set comes with a great collection of dies and on my card I have used 5 of the dies out of this set.

Santa has been shaded with Copics. I layer his body twice for extra dimension adding some silicone glue in between my layers. His belt and head were also layered on twice. I highlighted his beard, hair and coat with a Snow Writer pen, adding on some Glamour dust for extra sparkle.

My window I layered a polka dot paper and a Reindeer behind to give the illusion of snow falling and looking outside. My curtains were made my spraying a length of paper with water to dampen, adding my concertina folds and drying with my heat gun.

My tree I added decorations, coloured with Copics and touches of Stickles. My Christmas lights I added some Glossy Accents onto the bulbs. Tucking in my Christmas parcels at the base of the tree. The bows and Christmas sentiment I added Red Tinsel Embossing Powder for lots more sparkle.

3:30 AM 15 Comments

A warm hello to you. It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out hosting the blog today.

Cheery Lynn Designs has just release some wonderful new Christmas dies. I am featuring this new Fancy Reindeer 7 Piece Die Set  which is one of them . They are so nicely detailed.

My base is a Bendi Fold which really enables you to get a lot of layers and dimension. I layered the Oval - Scalloped LG Stackers Nesting Dies and Polynesian Sails Oval and added it to the top of the card for more shape and background. I embossed all the card pieces  with the Snowflake Flurries  before assembling it.

Here you can see all the detail on the Fancy Reindeer . I layered the Icicles Border along the curved part of the card. The trees are from the Camping Die Set . They make awesome winter/ Christmas trees too. The Happy Winter sentiment is from the new Winter Holiday Word 6 Piece Die Set. I cut up one of the  Dancing Snow Flurries into pieces and layered it here and there.

The reindeer head was layered to the center of the oval piece. And the Snowflake Set 2 where layered together and layered onto the top.

2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release - Part I Winter & Christmas with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 20 Comments

Hi friends, it's Jenny here today!  I'm sharing a Christmas card showcasing two new dies from Cheery Lynn's New Fall and Winter Release. Be sure to join us every day on the Cheery Lynn BLOG from July 22nd to August 3rd to see all the wonderful July Holiday new release dies.  One random commenter during the promotion will win a $20 gift certificate so comment each day for the best chance to win.

For this card I cut two Christmas Wreaths out of white card stock.  I colored it green with a sponge makeup applicator and distress ink.  I used red stickles to create berries.  Once the glitter glue dried I molded the leaves with a stylus tool.  The bow was also cut twice and molded the same way.  The bells were covered in gold embossing powder and then I drew a glitter line along the accent on each bell.

I glued the two wreath layers down to a card face cut using the Royal Scandinavian A2 Card Facer.  The bells were adhered with foam adhesive and I glued in the Merry Christmas sentiment from the Winter Holiday Word Set.  The back of the card facer was layered with a green rectangle and then an A2 sized rectangle behind so the interior of the card is nicely finished.

2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release Part 1 - Winter & Christmas with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 18 Comments

Hi everyone! Welcome back! Today, I'm sharing with you our new release with Cheery Lynn Designs! It is called 2016 Fall and Winter Holiday Release and it is in 4 part series. This is Part 1 Winter and Christmas.

This box card is 2 x 3 inches and it's a nice small size to mail off for the holidays. The main colors are white, red, green and teal. On the "St. Nick" and "trees" from the "camping set" I placed some liquid appliqué to give it the appearance of fluffy snow.

There are 3 inserts.  I placed the trees in the back, and then one more tree on the first insert, the "St.Nick" on the middle insert and then "Presents" from "whimsical Christmas" on the front insert.

The two sets of the smallest "poinsettia strip" were used with a pearl in the center. The holly leaves are part of the new release "feliz navidad".  On the top are "icicles" to finish of this box card.

Cheery Lynn Designs 2016 Fall and Winter Holiday Release Party - Christmas and Winter Holiday Die Kick-off

3:30 AM 23 Comments
Hello friends.  Bonnie here today from Make Time to Craft to kick off the Cheery Lynn Designs 2016 Fall and Winter New Release Celebration.
We will be sharing projects featuring dies from the Fall and Winter new release from now through August 3rd in four parts.  I hope you'll join us each day.  We will be beginning with Christmas and Winter dies and then showcasing Halloween, Fall & Thanksgiving and then we will finish off with a new die for a New Year!

Be sure to stop by and leave a comment each day.  At the end of the celebration, we will select a random post and one lucky person who leaves a comment on the post on that day will win a $20 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs.

Be sure to head over to the Cheery Lynn Designs website to view all the new Christmas themed dies.  They are FANTASTIC!

I have to admit that I always have a hard time making Christmas cards in July when it's 95 degrees outside!  I decided to ease my way into things by starting with a non-traditional color scheme.

This Whimsical Christmas die set made me think of Dr. Seuss, so I thought the non-traditional colors would be perfect and I really like the way this turned out.
I cut all of my dies in multiple colors and I was very careful to retain all of the pieces (positive and negative) when I removed the paper from the die.  I started with a silver base for my stockings and then carefully pieced each one together with the colors I wanted.  I then added it to my background square which was created by cutting a white Lattice piece and adhering it to white cardstock.  I thought a solid white background was too plain, so the white on white lattice was just right.

For the presents, I also cut the die in multiple colors.  I pieced each present individually in the colors I wanted and then lined them up along the bottom of the card panel, slightly overlapping them.

I cut the Merry Christmas sentiment in pink and purple and layered the pieces,  slightly offsetting to allow for a shadow effect.

Cheery Lynn Dies Used:
My card is topped off with a pretty bi-color double-loop bow made with two ribbon styles from the July Ribbon Club assortment from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I also added a layer of white mulberry paper under the main panel.  I love the soft feathery feel you get when you add mulberry paper to a project.
Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Don't forget, we have a Christmas in July challenge going on.  We'd love to have you enter for another chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs.  It'll sure come in handy once you see all the gorgeous new holiday dies!
