2016 Fall & Winter Holiday Release - Part Two: Halloween with Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 21 Comments
Goodmorning lovelies,
You are here on the last day of the Halloween part two release and I am very glad you have been with us all these days. Don't you just love all the new dies? Well I do! I had so much fun creating this card. "Yep" sorry it's a card again as I told you the last time I was planning on creating a layout. But I have to admit I struggled with these dies because here in The Netherlands we don't celebrate Halloween that much and I have a son that hates to dress up. So I don't have any pictures of him that I can scrap...

BOO I dig you:
For this card I used all Maja Design papers and for once it's kind of clean & simple for me as I tend to always distress and stitch my papers and use all sorts of flowers on my work. I did not do that here at all {I don't want to brag, but I am kind of proud of myself ;-) }
There are fourteen new fun Halloween themed die sets to choose from and more other themed die sets in the next following days!

https://www.cheerylynndesigns.com/new-releases/
I have to tell you I really love these Monster Kid dies so I had to create with one of those sets! They are really detailed as you can see and you can layer them as you prefer.
The text on my card came from two different die sets the B840 - Fun with Frankenstein {NEW} and the B852 - Halloween Ghost {NEW} so you see that they can easily be used together as most of Cheery Lynn Design dies can be!

Cheery Lynn Design dies used:

Be sure to leave a comment today and every day between July 22nd and August 3rd. One lucky person that leaves a comment on the selected day will win a $20 gift certificate for a shopping spree.
Also when you buy two of the new released dies you will get a free Sweet Candy Cane die awesome right!

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today!
I hope you enjoyed my post and I have inspired you to use your Cheery Lynn Designs dies. If you love the Cheery Lynn Designs dies I used, you could always enter our bi-weekly challenge to win a $20 shopping spree.
This time it's challenge #234 "Christmas in July Theme" I can't wait to see your work! I am not such a fan of making Christmas cards but I really love to see everybody else their creative cards.

Let Life Surprise You by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Hi everyone, It's JULIE hosting today and I am showcasing the wonderful new Rooster and the Floral Bouquet Kit which has beautiful flowers and amazing foliage dies in the set.

As you can see I decided to turn my Rooster into a Weather Vane, so let me take you through my steps.

In this photograph I had embossed the two middle sections and the right hand rooster on my mat to fluff out the feathers. Layering them onto my flat die cut rooster.

I finished off with a complete Rooster on the top Layer.

This photograph shows the elements I cut out from the Ships Compass, you will see I also cut the letter 'S' so I could have it in a different position on my Weather Vane. I also painted a Barbecue Skewer with Black Gesso and used two arrows from my fun with arrows set trimming the point off one and the tail part off the other.

I then hid my join behind the Barbecue Skewer.

My floral arrangement I added Glossy accents to my Berries and my yellow flowers have Flowersoft in the centres.

I finished my card off with steampunk corners, touches of bling and small dried cream flowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and the continued comments you leave, I love reading them. You still have time to enter our Current Challenge - Lots of Layers to win a $20 shopping spree here at Cheery Lynn Designs. Good luck to all entering.

Me & You 8x8 Layout by Amy Voorthuis

    3:00 AM 2 Comments
    Good morning lovelies.
I always wonder why life has to be that hasty & busy like all the time {in my life}..
Last week I had a week like that, every time when I wanted to relax in my scrap room something always messed it up.....but this week is kind of relaxing for me yeahh.
Today I would like to show you a 8x8 layout with a picture of the family weekend trip we had the week before.... on the picture you see my hubby with the youngest member of the family aren't they cute? You'll never guess what hubby said after I took this picture {oh hon I would love to have another baby....hehe} Well what to do with this information since I am the one that really wanted to have another sweet baby.....do you listen to your heart or to you mind....

    You & Me:
For this layout I used the pretty NEW "Vintage Romance" collection by Maja Design. I added a bunch of layers. In March we got a couple extra dies with our allotment {Cheery Lynn is amazing to design for} and this time I used the pretty B358 - Chain Mesh Border {steampunk series} I cut it up and placed behind the diagonal part on my layout.

I really like how all the dies come together on this layout....this was such a fun page to make and hubby's smile is the smile I fell in love with.

    Cheery Lynn Designs dies used:
    B358 - Chain Mesh Border {steampunk series}
    B661 - Fun With Arrows

    Cool Dude by Julie Lavalette

    3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi everyone, it's JULIE here today and I'm sharing a card using the New Release words Cool Dude. Let me take you through my techniques.

My centre die cuts were all layered twice for a shadow effect. My Palm tree was shaded with Copics and a little Distress Stickles added to leaves. My wording and arrow were all heat embossed with Red Tinsel Embossing Powder to make them stand out within my design.

I re-inserted my letters to the surf board after heat embossing them in the same way as above.

Our Current Challenge - Anything Goes is open until 3rd Feb. It would be lovely to have you join in the fun, with a chance to win a shopping spree of $20 here at Cheery Lynn Designs.

Fabulous You 8x8 Layout by Amy Voorthuis

    3:00 AM 6 Comments
    Good morning lovelies.
It's Amy here with you and today I would like to show you another layout! This time I went masculine  using the blue & cream tones from the "Vintage Autumn Basics"collection by Maja Design. I did this layout without any flowers which was weird in a sense since I always use flowers. Yesterday I got my new DT package in the mailbox and I had to dig in right away. Since I was on this team the first time I really wanted to have the B360 - Hot Air Balloons but always some new die got in the way of ordering it, but not this time around and I am so glad I have it!

    Fabulous You:
The picture I used is one of my handsome little/big man Kevin. I really love his groovy smile in this picture and he looks a lot older here then he was at that time {he was seven}.
I went a little with the theme for this week "Sparkle and Shine" by using some black bling gems on the FRM132 - French Lattice Small Frame.  Hopefully you can see that in my pictures because the weather is really bad outside & dark. For the centers of my gears I used little metal brads.
    Lets have a closer look:

I for one can't wait to see.  I always love what you all make entering our challenges every week. This week the challenge is  #215 - "Sparkle and Shine" and there are some stunning entries already. I bet you know you can win a $20 shopping spree at the store and if you love our dies we would love for you to enter.
Have a wonderful and creative day!

    Love
