A Country Christmas with GD Laurie Schmidt

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Laurie here from Stamping Up North with my last post as a Guest Designer for Cheery Lynn. It has been so much fun sharing my projects with you!

Today I have another Christmas card, which are my FAVE to make.  I don't know if you have been out shopping lately, but PLAID is everywhere. Especially the black and red for the holidays.

It inspired me to make a country Christmas card using plaid paper and my Cherry Lynn dies!

I started out with the Christmas Tree Shaker die and added a bow from the Christmas Wreath die set. The presents are from Whimsical Christmas. I added the sentiment and snowflake using the Christmas Gift envelope set.

Maggi with a layout for you

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Greetings Cheery Lynn fans!  I'm sharing a layout today that I did using Maja Design's Summertime collection.  I am a sucker for anything that resembles red, so this paper screamed at me!

Here's a fun way to use your oval dies in a different way to make a scalloped border.  I used the Royal Scandinavian Oval Doily 2 Piece Die Set  to diecut 2 ovals.  Then I cut them in half and placed them just under the floral border piece making a really pretty decorative border.  You can make a border like this with either circular or oval dies.

My layouts have to have flowers and leaves, lots of them!  I made large roses using the 3D Rose 1 Die  and then smaller roses with Medium- Rose 7 Piece Die Set.   I always ink the edges of my flowers to give the petals some depth.

I also made some red "black eyed susans" with our  Black Eyed Susan Strip 5 Piece Die Set.  Aren't they pretty, I bet they'd look great on a Christmas project.

One of my favorite leaf dies is Flourish #14 2 Piece Die Set and I've used it here.  I added a little Lindy's Starburst mist just to give the leaves some shimmer and vary the color abit.

I added a popped up layer underneath my photo with a diecut from the  Pierced Stacker 3 - 6 Piece Die Set  and at the top I added a pretty scalloped striped layer cut with A2 Frames Rectangular Scalloped 7 Piece Die Set .

That's it for me today.  Be sureto stop by the Cheery Lynn store and take a look at our new shaker card kits and dies.  AND, don't forget to enter our challenge, you could win a $20 gift certificate to the store.

Christmas Gift Tags with Cheryl Walker

1:30 AM 4 Comments

Hello everyone and Happy Monday to all! Today I have a couple of tags to share with you. I have been busy trying to create tags to put on our gifts this year, and Cheery Lynn Dies work Perfectly for this :) I LOVE the BIG dies I used here, and the beautiful shape. I will be writing on the back of these To: and From: , I could have stamped that, but hey I will just write :) hehehehe

Tags measures -5" x 3 3/4"

I LOVED using this Cheery Lynn Poinsettia Strip to create the Poinsettias on both tags. This strip makes cutting super easy, as the strip has enough to create 3 flowers in one single run through your die cut machine, gotta LOVE that! On these flowers, I used a gingham print design paper and my glass flower technique. Love how the flowers turn out and how they stay so perfect. In the centers I used some gems.

Now on this tag I used the Poinsettia die cutting out a different pattern paper almost makes them look like candy cane :) hehehehe

Cheery Lynn Dies Used:
Tag base was cut using Cheery Lynn Designs Pierced Stacker #2 XL-20 die
Also used Cheery Lynn's Oval Classic SM Silver Stacker Layers 8 for the ovals on my tags
Cheery Lynn Christmas Bell B846 die for the Holly Leaves and branches
Cheery Lynn Quadrafoil Tag B682

I am actually going to use these for all the large quilts I am making for Christmas gifts this year. Ha! I just learned how to quilt, and I am on my 4th one.  I think these would be perfect for large gifts :) but I will be writing a little note on the back and tie it to the quilt on the inside of the package . Might have to make some smaller ones for the top of the gift :) or some that are this size, not sure yet :) we shall see!

I hope you enjoyed my post for today, please do leave a comment letting me know what you think of my tags :)
Have a lovely day!
Hugs to all,
Cheryl

Believe Sign Christmas Greeting Card by Ginny

3:00 AM 0 Comments

Hey there Peeps! Ginny here to share a lovely traditionally styled Christmas greeting card. This project started with an A2 sized card base in white with a patterned paper and solid red border added.

These festive elements were cut and given a special treatment with some red glitter embossing powder and Olive colored sparkle pen.  The Paris Sign holder was given a coat of clear gloss embossing powder and heat set for shine and additional depth.
To create a neutral background I added a Nesting Doll Circle to act as a doily effect and topped it off with a wreath.  The sentiment was stamped and inked to finish this card off and now it's ready to send to someone special for Christmas!

Okay that's all for me. Wishing all of you a happy and productive day with lots of time to be creative : ) G

Hi everyone,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend and had a lovely Thanksgiving with your loved ones.
Today I would like to share another card with you all, this time created with Prima Marketing's newest collection "Rossi Belle"! I am totally in love with this collection but it was really hard to get here because is was sold out in a blink and I know why - it's amazingly beautiful.

Hello Beautiful:
For this card I used some of my newest dies to create with such as the B465 - Double Scalloped Border & the cute B488 - Pair of Tickets.  This card was a blessing to make and I am very happy how it turned out. Also I took out my doily dies again for this card and it was really nice to play with them after such a long time.

That lily flower is from the build a flower die range and is such a gorgeous addition to your work because it's really large and easy to put together. If I find time I will show you that in a video as soon as I can.

Best Wishes by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi everyone!  If you are in the US I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I needed a baptism card last week and made a card similar to this, I thought the white on white would work well for a wedding or shower card too.  It's difficult to see in the photo but the cream colored card stock has a beautiful metallic shimmer that adds an elegant touch.

I began with a 5.5" card base and then layered a square of white card stock cut with the Circle Pierce & Cut Tool.  I then added a shimmery layer cut with the Square Scalloped LG Stacker die.   Last I added the Quadrafoil Square Doilyand the Best Wishes also cut with shiimmery cream card stock.

'Twas the Night Before' by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi everyone, it's JULIE here today and I'm sharing with you my Festive Scene. I love how Cheery Lynn's dies can make so many wonderful scenes on your cards/ scrapbook pages. On my card you will see how I have adapted my Holly Wreath die and used elements from other dies to create this. So let me take you through all the techniques on it.

My card measures 5" x 7", I tattered a couple of layers of paper and glued in place. My Garland has been made from the Christmas Wreath by cutting it into sections. I coloured my die cut with Copic Pens adding Glossy Accents onto my Mistletoe.

My berries on the Garland were made from Red Stickles glue, once dry I added a drop of Glossy Accents to form the shape of berries. The bells were coloured with a gold pen and shaded at the sides with Archival ink.

Santa was also coloured with Copics, dabbing some Stickles onto his hat to make it Sparkle. His beard, eyebrows and hat I added Snowtex and some Glamour Dust too. I mounted him onto my Stacker die to frame him on the wall.

My tree has also been coloured with Copics adding Stickles onto the baubles and once dry a layer of Glossy accents for a domed effect.

I just adore this fireplace and had a lot of fun building it up. I die cut out the fireplace 3 times layering on with foam strips for dimension, adding an extra layer onto the mantle. I outlined the brick embossed areas with a Fineliner Pen and added a different shade of paper to the back of the fire. I shaded my logs with Distress inks and drop shadowed with grey cardstock, adding in place with Silicone Glue. My flames are coloured with Copics and a layer of Glossy Accents, off setting a few layers for a natural look.

The Fireplace die also comes with the picture frames, candles and stockings. On this card I used the Christmas Stockings and Parcels from the Whimsical Set adding Candy Canes onto my Stockings for extra detail. You will find these in the Build A Christmas Tree die set listed below.

Winter Sweater by Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Hi It's Debbie back with you from Debbie's Time Out. Glad to see you here visiting the blog.

We have had a pretty good amount of snow here so when looking thru my papers and seeing this sentiment paper I thought it perfect for a winter card.

For my base I used the Step Card and place the paper sentiment in the center.

This sentiment was perfect for using the  Christmas Knick Knacks  set with. The toque and mittens are part of this set. I used the Icicles Border Die  along the top. This icicle dies is one of my favorites that I use a lot.

Along the bottom I have layered the Dancing Snow Flurries . The snowman, scarf and presents are also from the Christmas Knick Knacks . That is it for this time. I hope I have inspired you to get creating.
I would like to invite you  to join our bi-weekly challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree.

Thanks you for visiting the blog and for all the comments you leave. Have a wonderful day.

Christmas Village with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello!
Today, I'm sharing with you a new card for Cheery Lynn Designs. I can not believe I have not made anything new for over a month! I was in wedding mode for my daughter trying to get ready for her big day which was this past November 5, 2016....
Now I'm finally getting back my Mojo that I felt like it disappeared for a while....
Here is a Christmas scene that I had fun making yesterday.

The "winter neighborhood border" was layered twice in kraft and white. I then stamped the sentiment in black ink. The green trees with pearls are part of the new die cuts "tree shaker" I used two different holly's. Small holly from "Christmas bell" and and small holly from "holly leaves"

There is one "poinsettia" in the center with a pearl. Two "colonial lamp posts" on each side just seemed like it fit in the scene. All the stitching on the white cardstock is from the "rectangle stitch and cut tool" Love the look! Tiny doves were stamped and fussy cut out. There is some Green ribbon across the top. Also pearls for the berries and a swirl of snow...
