New Happenings at Cheery Lynn Designs blog

We have some new happenings here at Cheery Lynn Designs.  First, we are splitting off the challenge to it's own blog, Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog.  Challenges will still be on Mondays but we will have two additional posts during the week for more inspiration from our talented team.

And speaking of the team, it is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Celeste Glover and Sandie Edwards.  We wish them all the best and thank them for their fabulous designs created for us.

Now the big news, we would like to welcome Alison, Dawn, Debbie, Gini and Tamara to our team.  I will let them introduce themselves..........

Alison – 'xtglx'
Hi, I'm Alison, and I was so thrilled and very honoured to be asked to join the extremely talented Cheery Lynn Dies Design Team!   Its a wonderful opportunity to work with some amazing designers and products, I feel so lucky.   Now, I have never been bored in my life ever! From a very early age I was always 'up to something crafty', sewing clothes for my dolls, drawing, painting, knitting, tapestry, making jewellery and learning to make anything for myself that I could.  I got into card-making about 9 years ago, and like to try lots of different styles.  I think essentially I am quite girly and feminine and very much a 'more is more' kind of gal. I love making my own flowers, adding stitching on my cards and my absolute favourite is playing about with dies. I can spend hours on one project, as its not about a race to the finish, its about how you get there and what you learn along the way for me.  I love visiting other crafters blogs as they are an unlimited source of inspiration and beauty.

Dawn Lotharius
Hi.  My name is Dawn you might recognize me as dawnll.  I have been an avid paper crafter for the last three  years.  I am mom to three amazing children, all of them now grown and my first daughter-in-law.  My husband whom I lovingly call honey and I, still consider ourselves newlyweds, we have one fur baby we call Pippie. I enjoy making  cards, scrapbooks and any type of altered art.  I am so fortunate that my design team skills at Sweet Stamps introduced me to these great dies and the rest is history.  I am beyond thrilled to be joining this talented team at Cheery Lynn.

Debbie Sherman
Hi!  I'm Debbie Sherman from the Cowboy State, big beautiful Wyoming!  I'm so excited to be part of the Cheery Lynn Design Team!  When I'm not scrap booking I am a road designer, photographer, wife, mother, grandmother of 6, auntie and friend. I have been crafting since I was a little girl.  I started out sewing and making jewelry around the age of 7 and have been creating ever since.  I still bead and sew but now it's mostly on my paper projects.  I love photography and sometimes get that "great shot" that all photographers live for!  I am fortunate enough to have a press pass and am able to shoot big events occasionally. The city I live in has a yearly old west celebration called the"Daddy of 'em all" and I'm fortunate enough to attend the big rodeo's, Native Americans and several other events in town. With my press pass I have front row seating for these events which allows for some awesome photos. With all the photos I take it gives me the perfect reason to scrap them! I'm hoping to share some of those with all of you! I'm so excited to be part of this wonderful team and hope to inspire and be inspired along the way.

Gini Cagle
I have always loved everything vintage - and that has really influenced my work. Even as a little girl, I collected beaded purses and antique clothes, and had boxes of old photos and ephemera. And yeah, this was all by the time I was 9 years old. So I guess I was that quirky kid that everyone just kind of thought marched to her own drum.  That early sense of style lead to someone who has a passion to create, who is confident in her own designs,  but who also appreciates the historic influences of the past.  I have been crafting all of my life, in one form or another. I was a very successful bead artist. I had my work published in over a dozen books and magazines, and lectured and taught all over the country, but...my beaded pieces took 500-1000 hours to complete. About 10 years ago, I started scrapbooking, when my first nephew was born. I instantly fell in love with the immediacy of the medium (compared to the crazy hours I spent beading!) In the past several years, I have really gotten serious with the craft and love finding new ways to take my pieces to the next level.  It's really funny to look at any of my work, from bead work to paper and to be able to see the same style emerge, regardless of the medium.  I have always loved dimension, and color and layers.  Paper crafting is really a family thing for me. My sister and I used to get together once a week to craft, but now she has moved right next door, so it's one big paper party! I can't leave out that my five year old nephew thinks it's really cool to scrapbook with his aunt and mommy! My husband doesn't ever craft with me, but he is my biggest cheerleader, and is always supportive of what I do. We have been married for a little over two years. We have a fairytale romance - we knew each other in high school and were friends, but went over 20 years without any contact, and reconnected on Facebook and quickly knew we were meant to be together. I work as a dental hygienist, so creating with paper is always a welcomed release!  I absolutely love Cheery Lynn Designs - they have such an elegant style, and cut even the most intricate dies beautifully. I am thrilled to be able to share some of my creations that I've made  with them.

Tamara Morton
Hi I'm Tamara, married to a fabulous hubby that is very understanding and supports me through my crafting addiction. We have a beautiful daughter, Savannah who brings us joy and happiness each and everyday. I started paper crafting in 2005 after receiving a handmade card from my cousin it inspired me so much I thought I would give it a go, since then I've been hooked.   The first major craft item I purchased was the Sizzix Big Shot which is still going strong today with my crafting space going from the dining table to a purpose build cabin at the bottom of the garden and I have to say I think I might need a bit more space. I can be found there most days with glitter, glue, sticky pads and Copic's all around (a girl in heaven).  I am so thrilled and honoured to be designing for Cheery Lynn, they are the best dies on the market..

Welcome to the team, ladies.  We look forward to working with you and seeing the fabulous things you create with Cheery Lynn Designs dies!
