Happy New Years 2018! With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Happy New Year Everyone! Welcome to the first card of the New Year 2018 with Cheery Lynn Designs! I had to use the fabulous clock for the center. It is layered with a english tea party doily.

The horizon fishtail banner is one of my favorite die cuts in the background. The pierced stars match perfectly with the pierced circle in the center of the clock. The sentiment is part of last New Years shaker.

I added some tiny stars in the corners....love black white and gold together....but you could also silver instead....

Thanks for stopping by today!
Hope you have a great year!

Mixed Media Create Tag by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 8 Comments
Good morning lovelies.
Today I would like to share something totally different than I normally do!
This time I made a mixed media tag using the pretty steampunk dies that Cheery Lynn Designs offers.  I cut out all the dies with thin cardboard and placed them on my gessod tag which I first pasted a gear stencil on. Then I sprayed some peacock shimmer spray on my tag.

Create Art:
Later on I placed the word create on the bottom of my tag and colored it with different paints then I placed some word stickers above the word to make it more like I wanted it to be.

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today!
I hope you enjoyed my post and I have inspired you to use your Cheery Lynn Designs dies.

Happy New Year 2016 with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello! It's Lisa wishing everyone a fun, safe and wonderful Happy New Year 2016!
This week's challenge is "Anything Goes" so I thought I would use "Clock" and "Balloons" for the celebration of the upcoming New Year. The balloons are the smallest and I added some floss for the string. The center of the clock was "Classic Circle-Silver" I used the smallest and printed a font from the computer. I then traced around the circle in black and fussy cut and distressed the edges.

The "A2 Frame Rectangle Scalloped" was cut out, then I just layered it to make a square and cut it again. Lastly, I had to add some bling to make it a bit more festive. A few pop dots behind the clock and balloons.

Christmas Canvas

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hello.  It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out with you today. I would like to take the time to thank everyone who left a comment on my last post. It was nice to hear from you.  This is a canvas that I have used a wood grain stencil, gesso, gelatos and distress inks on to give it a  barn board look.

Each year I try to come up with a new idea for a new Christmas decoration. This canvas will look beautiful hanging on a wall or standing on a easel.

The Clock w/Angel Wing is off to the right cut in black and using Inka Golds to color it up giving it a metal look. This clock is one of my favorite CLD dies.  The Old Barn Board  was used as a base to layer the Merry Christmas  on to. The  Hinges were added to the edge of the barn board.

Here I layered the image, the Oval Classic - Silver Stackers  and the Royal Scandinavian Oval Doily as my focal point. I added the  Whistle a Happy Tune  colored with Inka  Golds. The Poinsettia 2  was layered using the greenery off the Merry Christmas  around it. The tag with 2015 is from the Love Tags . I placed the Garden Bench  in the bottom corner with one of the tiny flowers from the Tiny Flower Kit . Again I used the Inka Golds on the wrought iron of the bench. I added a few white dots here and there to give it a snowy look. Well that is it for this week. I hope I have inspired you to play with a canvas.

Please come and join our weekly challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree. The theme this week is "Anything Goes".
                                                             Have a crafty week.

Your Happy Life 8x8 Layout by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Goodmorning sweet followers.
Today I would like to show you a layout that is totally out of my comfort zone {without any flowers}. This time I used a picture of my stepdad's father way back in time. Because I wanted to use my new B357 - Clock w/Angel Wing from the Steampunk Series that I received last week.
The papers I used are by Graphic 45.

Your Happy Life:
This time I used a bunch of gesso on my background papers to later on spray it with two different green sprays.  If you look closely you will see I added some stamps and paste using a stencil. For the centers of the gears I used vintage brads.

Birthday Card by Corina Finley

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Hello Crafters!

I'm glad you can join me, Corina, with today's card. My card was inspired and started by a white piece of card stock that I sprayed with a variety of glimmer mists in pewter, sand, blue, turquoise and old gold.

As you can see by the photo above, I cut a circle out of the sprayed cardstock using a stacker die from the Circle Classic - Silver set. I used the New Release Fleur De Lis Doily die to die cut the center of the circle and backed with black cardstock. I then trimmed the center out of the Clock (Steampunk Series) die cut and adhered it to the top of the circle.

I used one banners from both the new and previous release sets and the second smallest die from the Pierced Stacker #2 set for my Birthday sentiment. In the background, I created the layered base with black cardstock and pattern paper plus I layered the Fiona’s Magic Mirror die which was cut from the sprayed cardstock.

Fleur De Lis Doily (Set of 2) - DL304

Forever Yours by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 7 Comments

Happy Valentines Day to everyone, it's Julie here today and I am sharing with you a very Ornate Vintage Style Valentines card using lots of layers, dies and a coordinating pack of papers.

In this photograph you will see how my layers started on my card. I tattered some edges and added Distress Ink for an aged look along with a little Muslin tucked around my layers, also adding a few pearls around my clock.

My main flower, stamens were added into the centre along with a little Gesso to the edges of the petals. My Chrysanthemums were folded in half, offset, glued in place and the petals ruffled. Leaves were rubbed at the edges with a little Distress and a wooden heart added.

My heart I paper pieced back in the centre with a different shade of paper and Pearls added. The word Forever was layered twice for depth.

I colour tinted my image and added it on to the Alpine Flourish frame.

Finishing off my card by adding Pearl swirls and a delicate butterfly.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend and good luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge.

Hi Everyone, it's Julie here today. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and Santa left you all some lovely craft goodies.

Today I am sharing a New Year card to coincide with this weeks Festivities as we enter 2015.

I started by mounting cream and gold card together which I have distressed at the edges with my distress tool for a shabby worn look.

My clock you will see I also went around the edges of the Angel Wing with my tool. I added lots of sparkle from gems and put the hands of my clock to just after midnight to symbolise the start of the New Year.

My glasses also had sparkling gems added to symbolise the bubbles in the Champagne.

Wishing everyone a Creative 2015.

Happy New Year,

End of Summer Time by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi Everyone, it's Julie here today. Can you believe we are at the end of August already. In Scotland the nights are starting to get darker earlier in the evening and my beloved little Robin has re-appeared back in my garden. All signs summer time is about to end and the clocks will go back soon and winter will be upon us. So this is where my inspiration for this weeks card came from.

My card is 8x8 in size and fits the Mega Doily Die perfectly. With this die cut I used patterned paper, dry brushed on some Gesso and inked the edges to give a shabby feel. My Clock, Victorian flourishes and corner dies were cut out in a lilac shade of paper. I stamped a crackle stamp onto the clock and corners and then inked the edges on all these die parts and once again dry brushed some Gesso on.

I added some glitter glue onto my clock face and little diamantés.

My flowers all started off as white cardstock. They were cut out and I added different shades of ink, a little stamping onto the Shasta Daisy for texture and a little flower soft into the centres. My leaves were cut from green card stock and the edges inked.

My butterflies were cut out in pink patterned paper and I used the angel wing to cut out the back of the butterflies in white cardstock, again inking the edges.

Hello to all !!!!

I hope you all are in best of moods crafting away to glory. Today , I am back again for my wednesday weekly with Cheery Lynn, I loved putting all the elements of this card together. The lacy effect brought by layering the doilies is so pretty And then the flowers !!!! I love making them. Cheery lynn has a fantastic collection of flower making dies and doilies.
For my card, I have used the cathedral lace frame for my backing. Then I layered it with two doilies cutting them up and placing according to design. The clock cut in black highlights the layers and the flowers with lots of leaves does wonders to the whole card.

Time for Dad by Julie Lavalette.

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello there blogging friends, it's Julie here today.
The challenge this week is Make it Manly and with Father’s Day fast approaching here in the UK, I thought it would be nice to share a masculine card with you.

I cut out the Steampunk Clock in black cardstock and also in gold mirri card. I then paper pieced elements together to make the workings of the clock stand out. I rubbed over my mirri card with a little Archival Ink to give it an aged appearance. The clock die comes with a background circle die too, which is a great idea as it really sets your clock off and makes it ‘pop’ on the page. I cut my background out with kraft paper and added a little crackles and distress.

The new Steampunk Corners are a fabulous accent to a card or scrapbook page. I cut mine out in black cardstock and rubbed a little gilding wax over to give a metallic look and complimented them with the gears die on my card which were also cut out in mirri card.

Thanks for popping by, enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you all next Saturday.

 Julie x
